  • 4 people need to work on their clicking skills......,because there is no possible way to DISlike this!!!!!

  • the girl who collects shells has gone back to the coast

  • His voice makes the world seem like a beautiful place.

  • parece un hobbit cantando bob dylan

  • This guy has some cool hair

  • If Fionn didn't play harmonica, none of this Dylan comparison would come up.

  • anybody have the chords??

  • @sezzerobrien capo 5 C - Em - Am

  • Dylan had something to say, it can be said that he abandoned this noble cause but even in the one album times they are a changin' he championed the cause of the working class, the struggle for equal rights and the class corruption in the united states. I am a huge fan of fionn regan and have seen him live several times, hes a major talent and the best thing to come out of ireland since rory gallagher but he is not and never wil be dylan.

  • @yourayseven Yeah, it annoys you. Everyone is a product of their time. Lucky for some, unlucky for others (?) And Dylan and Regan have VERY different styles, but I feel like, in some respect, and maybe I'm not being very articulate, Dylan IS Folk. Regan must owe something to Dylan, as there would be no Regan had there been no Dylan. But yeah, no point in making a comparsion... cheers.

  • right first of all a very uncomparable artist to dylan in so many respects. fionn has two albums and is writing at a time of very little social importance but in contrast the music being released at the moment is utter garbage. When dylan was writing it was at the same time as so many greats who were contemporaries and peers i.e the band. the socio political climate of the time was one very unique to its position in time, after the watershed of the second world war and the vietnam conflict.

  • brilliant.

  • Dylan is over rated Fionn is fantastic im sorry but lyrically bob dylan has not a patch on him

  • @dbyrnerulz

"Lyrically bob dylan has not a patch on him"? How much Dylan have you listened to? Of course Dylan has his worse albums (anyone who releases 60+ albums is bound to) but have you checked out the albums TIme Out of Mind or Modern Times? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE End of HIstory, but Dylan has some work lyrically equal to it. A different approach maybe, but still equal.

I wouldn't say the same about guitar technique though. This man is a god.

  • @dbyrnerulz Yeah I agree with SmileyWhiplash, until you listen to A LOT of Dylan, you can't really make a bold statement like that.

  • @dbyrnerulz WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO

    No you didn't

  • @dbyrnerulz

woah do not compare dylan with anybody

  • hello frodo baggins!

  • Sounds like a bad Dylan rip-off!

  • yes poo and wee

  • Never had so much respect.

  • this fringe, to remain a fringe, must must consist of an audience that loves music in an "extended" way. it's not that easy to find this audience, is it?

furthermore, to me it doesn't really matter if many people don't show a kind of fanatic interest of music. many people simply don't have the time, or never had a chance to develop such diverse feelings or knowledge or give it a name that fits to you.you can hardly expect "the masses to wake up" when these masses have other things to deal with.

  • yeah, let's all wake up. jesus, he is good, that's for sure. still there maybe is no need to make such a fuzz about it?

it shows that "better" (let's not talk about the question of comparing artists now)

musicians with even a truly strong intention to reach the consciousness of the audience (whereas, at least to me, fionn regan writes songs for "only" those who want to listen themselves) have failed in this case.

or like you said: true music lives on the fringes.

  • can you say hobbit?

  • @awx6 yes

  • Somebody get me a doctor I'm addicted to Fionn Regan!

  • @OffShoreAccount2 symptoms include deep reflection and cloud gazing

  • These lyrics don't make much sense. Not that that's bad or anything.

  • @PunkFuckUp

An English Professor Once told me this about Shakespeare:

If it doesn't make sense, you just don't get it.

I don't get the lyrics either, but this is the first time I've listened to it. :P

    ALL HAIL FIONN!

  • @PunkFuckUp Fion's known for surreal imagery--it doesn't matter if they make sense to you just if it conveys some meaning to you.

  • My favorite leprechaun!!

  • @WordWizard1 you're right - it's a shame...

I'm 21 and to the most concerts I'm going with my dad because most of my friends aren't into that kind of music unfortunately

  • i love fionns music but he does desperately want to be bob dylan, you can even hear it on his new album its like his trying to do the dylan goes electric trick ?

  • @a280281 yea some of the songs on his new album are so dylan sounding which is a bit dissapointing given his first album sounds so incredibly unique and generally great

  • @dyneportega Really? I haven't heard the newer stuff.... that is disappointing. ...at least we'll always have the gem that this album is.

  • I cant' listen to a guitar/harmonica combo without hearing bob dylan. but, don't get my wrong! I still love this :)

  • my absolute favourite of his.

any man with a harmonica and beautiful lyrics owns my heart

  • i don't want to start having a go at teenagers, but it's a shame that different things are valued nowadays..the big bling stars with the big jewellery (kanye west) and the wierd costumes (lady gaga, rhianna) get more attention than truly gifted musicians like fionn here.

  • @WordWizard1 please say, 'have a go at SOME teenagers' i'm a teenager, and fionn is superb, not sure about the new album yet though.

  • sorry man, i didn't mean to generalise or paint everyone with the same brush, i know there are alot of teeneagers who "get" more real musicians too. it's just a pity about the majority of others who miss out is all :)

  • @WordWizard1 Cheers for the reply, I agree

  • @LiamSkimac I like the new album. It's different, but his writing is always top-notch.

  • Respect to you!

  • I agree with you

  • very true. however, im only 14 and i love to listen music like this.

  • One of the best contemporary songwriters...

  • i bought his cd but anyone know where to get a version of this song with the harmonica?

  • Just get a cord and feed it through the input/output audio

    then record ..

    This was explained terribly

  • I adore the fact that he doesn't play with...

    ...A pick,

    ...A strap.

    ...or any problem.

  • He is playing with a strap...

  • Comment removed

  • hard out?

  • he isnt playing with a strap

  • Then what is that black thing coming around his neck going down to the top of the guitar's body? It must be just an arbitrary ornament of clothing that he wears. Or... it isn't, and it serves the function of holding his guitar up for him so he can focus on singing the beautiful song. Check out 1:43 from there on if you don't believe me. It is a close-up that pans all over his strap. Mylanta, you people on here are simply brainless.

  • chill

  • chill

  • i think hes playing with a strap =)

  • You see the strap attached to the side of the guitar (left on screen) when he turns slightly at 1:07 haha....

  • @Adamthe4nt Playing without a pick is easier for some people (like me). He's definitely got a strap though.

  • what the freak is the time signature?

  • Comment removed

  • i dunno it's so weird. if u find out i'd love to know cause it hurts my head trying to play along with this

  • @dyneportega lol same here, its cos' he keeps changing the time signature. Yet another reason showing that fionn has a lot of talent.

  • this song is so beautiful... but the rhythm is so hard to play!!

  • i love fionn's music but he totally looks like Dwight from the office

  • Where is the new album ??

  • I love fionn's live performances epecially this and the video of snowy atlas mountains in the garden (prob in related vids) in both he plays really simple but crazily really powerful harmonica.

Go fionn cant wait to hear the new album

  • This song reminds me so much of Bob Dylan.

    Fionn is so talented.

  • anyone know what key his harmonica is?

  • it's probably an F major - he's not playing anything clever, just blowing all the notes. This only really works if the harp is tuned to the root chord, which is F here (i.e. a C major/G bass shape with a capo at 5th fret).

  • Looks like a Hohner Big River, sounds like Key of E.

  • ocean of fuck is great lol. Genius gets tossed around alot...but I think it really applies to Fionn.

btw, does anybody happen to have the chords for this? I'm hearing C/G, Am, and some kind of F? 003210?

  • cant really be bothered right now to check out exactly what hes playing, but the c/g seems correct, not hundred percent sure by the looks of the am, would still need to play it myself. and the fmaj seems like the thumb is on the bass f. 103210, or something like that. or its the am the has the f root.

  • aw i wish he just carried on into black water child like it does on the album. they work so well together

  • i just found my new favorite singer/songwriter.

  • Fionn Regan is a true talent in a ocean of fuck!! It's time for the masses to wake up and see that there being spoon fed garbage. True music lives on in the fringes. Long live our true poets!!

  • two bad i can't hit the thumbs up thing again, or i would.

  • Ocean of fuck!!! That is the funniest phrase I've heard in a while. And very true.

  • @zeeterbug Without the masses this wouldn't be so fantastic and wonderful.

  • Fionn Regan is amazing !

  • beautiful

i saw fionn regan at king tuts a gd while back...best gig EVER x

  • Guitar and Harmonica combo is one of the most beautiful sounds.

  • This is one of my all time favourite songs, and Fionn is definitely one of my favourite artists. Even his name is great.

  • What a hero,

    what a song..

  • shit sorry man i meant to click the thumbs up yoke.i totally agree

  • I was at electric picnic when he played and didn't know about him at the time. So gutted!
