DAVID GRISMAN is off on his 16th notes. Always has been a challenge for him. Don't understand why he is famous. Must be because he hung out with Garcia.
This rocks like a monkey. I got into Dawg's music when I first heard the album Shady Grove. That's one of my all-time favorites. After that, I started working my way back through his career and man, what a career he's had! We'll keep enjoying his music forever. Long Live The Mighty Dawg!!!
could care less about all the drama surrounding these alleged events....just very good music is all i hear....thank you Mr Free to B Wild....5 starz....
@gratefullydead67 His uncle might be full of shit but grisman is a dick. Got to meet him after a show and he was a complete asshole. I watched him make a kid who tried to give him a present cry. Wish i would have never wasted my time talking to him.
What gives you that impression? I'm curious - never met the man but he's always been a musical hero, and I've met nearly all my man other musical heroes ....
When my Uncle was talking to him he mentioned that he enjoyed the "Muleskinner" album and the work he did with Clarence White. He said "It was what it was back then.." and my Uncle says "What do you mean?" and he says that he did not like the album because it did not have Jazz influenced work and that he was mad at them about that. But the thing was is that it was supposed to be a traditional bluegrass album. That was the point. Then YEARS later he went back talking shit.... Bad form
Then another musician my Uncle met at a festival who toured with the Dawg told him a story...cant remember a name... He said "After a show we were all chillin backstage and some1 packed a bowl (of pot) and started passing it around. Dawg hit it soon enuff then stuck it in his pocket. When everyone was leaving this guy was goin "wheres my pipe?" and the guy who told the story told Dawg "hey you got his pipe David" he replies "yeah i know!" and proceeds to laugh and then leave with the guys pipe
Thats hysterical. The begining is where I told David He was running over and Rusted Root was getting pissed. He said something like " What?! Well fuck that!". You can see it. I was like, "oh, ok, yeah sure...Ladies and gentleman, its SO nice having David Grisman here". I was like, Oh sh1t is he pissed!. HA! It was a great show though. David is cool. But touchy...
