weve had our girl for about 8 months and she will not let anyone touch her. She came at about 2 months able to fly. Our boy was 1 month with his feathers clipped and not even 4 days after having him he would let him grab us. How long was it before your girl let you hold her?
@Fyralynn Penny has never had nice feathers. I actually adopted her because she looked so pitiful. She hardly ever has more than a couple tail feathers. X
I have just managed to have success with potty training my tiel - he has a HUGE morning dump. It's the first thing I do letting him out of his cage - I hold him over the trash and won't let him go anywhere. He now poops immediately on command. I am not having as much luck with my other tiels and cockatoo. However, this is great progress and it is really amazing. He also said pretty bird this week. LOL.
I've been trying to potty train my cockatiel for ages now. But he just keeps on pooping all over the couch. I even put him in his cage saying bad boy. I held him over a dustbin a couple of times when he pooped also. It didn't work >.<
you know i think i accidentally potty trained my bird...i take her out of the cage and put her over the trash can and she just does her business....She did that when i first got her. So every time i take her out for some reason she goes to the bathroom. Otherwise she will poop on me or the floor when i'm playing with her.
I find it easier to have a stand to potty train my birds. The plan is to not have them standing in their poop after wards. I have also had them on my finger and held them over the trash can or a paper towel.
The main thing is to be consistent with whatever you decide to do. With patience and repetition, your bird will eventually catch on.

@darkstar0612 Thank you! Penny is a "white face" cockatiel, as opposed to having the orange cheeks that most cockatiels have. X

Parrot type birds can be in "love" with their reflection. They think it is another bird. My birds all do the same thing. X
