@ReconciledSinner nice, how fast are you moving with that windcutter on? The go karting video I shot with a newer Contour and it sounds much better. I'd be curious if I could snowboard with one of the windcutters without it falling off.
@ljeproductions I use my cam for parkour, so I do running and jumping so maybe going 12-14mph at some points. It cuts most of the wind noise out. You can snowboard with one, it uses a backing thing that sticks well.
You need a sledgehammer - or a sharp set of keys for the jackass that parked right up against the railing (tag X78 5710 Illinois), and well over the driver's side line. I hate inconsiderate people.
@BlackWatch55 The wind noise is a big issue but their is not much that can be done to help it. I did take the camera apart and put some foam over the mic on the inside and it helped a little.
@luiskilla91592 The application that comes with it is called "Easy Edit Software" It's very simple to use but doesn't allow a lot of flexibility. For this footage I find Apples iMovie or Final Cut the best thing to use. iMovie is free with a Mac and Final Cut has two versions starting at 199.
@shad0wtraceur agreed, I was able to edit the audio in Soundtrack. Just showing the raw sound and footage to get an idea of what the camera is capable of.
Did you directly load raw unconverted file to Youtube? What recording resolution/FPS? I just bought one and ready to use on bike ride, this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, I used the 1080 res and uploaded it from the Contour App. I know that the app compresses the video down a little bit but it's still 1080 on here. I've been using the smaller resolution a lot more and I like the quality/look better compared to the 1080 footage
@covidiu Checkout my mount "contourhd vholdr mount bike rear view" to get an idea of the quality of video from a frame mount look at my other uploads. I'm working on a front facing setup, I'd rather not use the handle bar mount but may be forced to. Hope this helps.
no way, it's perfect. After this video I messed with the gain a little but then took the camera apart to add some foam in between the mic and the main body, works a little bit better
Yo, I talked with one of their tech support guys about it and it's a reflection issue. Video looks great 98% of the time but when sun light hits the lens just right that happens. Might be a clipping issue. But, I personally do a lot of action stuff (motercycle/snowboarding) and have switched to the 60 frame mode. I have not gotten any lines since. This video was shot on the 1080 30 mode.
Hey bro, a lot of wind noise. :\
I picked up a windcutter stickon for my (contourHD) at it cuts out a lot of wind for me.
I'm liking the contour, it's a good camera.

@erkme73 It's not their fault, that parking area is raised and hard to park on. But yeah, don't park in front of the stairs!

Seems like it picks up wind really good but not anything else all to well

@CH1CKENQUIFF what is a vid when its at home?
moedem 1 year ago
@moedem
Are you serious? Its short for video.
Still doesnt prove you have a nice bike and a crap camera... although a better sounding one as the "VIDEO" above.
If you post up bragging about something... at least be able to back it up.
Peace

When you are recording, does the red laser light stay on? Is there a mode where you could turn it off?
xion1299 2 years ago
red laser is just for aligning the camera and it turns off after 15 seconds or so. The lens rotates so you can get a better angle.

Would it be possible to mount it on the handlebars? We don't really wear helmets in the Netherlands. :D

yah but handlebar mounts are really shaky :P probably fine if your just riding on the rode though

What's with the yellow vertical lines that pop in and out? I have the same problem with mine, and assumed I got a bad camera?

Hey, thanks for the information. I've not seen this happen at all with my GoPro HD. Tough decision on which one to keep. :)
