No one has ever duplicated that dunk to this day. Jordan had his reverse cradle, but I think Doc's cradle was more impressive. One of the all time greatest in-game dunkers.One of the first players to "posterize" people with his dunks.
I watched this game and that dunk was sick..The Doctor was a class act with a ton of tallent but wasn't much of a ball hog..he could have had better career numbers but never played like that. michael Cooper got posterized on this one..Great memories.

I was fortunate enough to meet Julius Erving. One of the nicest respectful human beings out there. He is very humble. I told him that this dunk was the best of all time - (in a live game).

this is tight, I mean he has his hands down when he jumps up, and thats hard to do. Your arms give you momentum, when you jump you usually throw them up, but he didnt so thats impressive

I was fortunate enough to meet Julius Erving. One of the nicest respectful human beings out there. He is very humble. I told him that this dunk was the best of all time - (in a live game).

@ThaFlameofATown I'd say that's true. But then again, Dr. J is no Michael Jordan either. Jordan was the most complete player of his time. He had his dunks, clutch shots, defensive awards... actually, too many damn awards to name. Jordan is the GOAT while Dr. J is the dunkmaster along with Vince Carter. Can't fuck with Jordan.

@PEPEelZAPATISTA Agreed, Jordan is the greatest of his generation. But you can see where he drew inspiration from when it came to his dunking. Erving was one of the pioneers of playing above the rim, which MJ mastered later on.

I guess you didn't know that the dunk came to be known as "Rock the Baby". A Dr J original...and even he said during an interview that the dunk was okay....but the name the commentator gave made it immortal :)
