  • Before weight classes restructure, Anatoly Khrapaty cleaned and Jerked 235 KG at 90- KG body weight while Alexendar Popov cleaned and Jerked 242.5 KG at 100 KG body weight, so 94 KG body weight ideal lift would be 237.5. However, this is a great lift a that body weight and nobody has reached it since it was set. Too bad he was tested for steroids shortly and then was restated to compete in the 2008 Olympics. I believe that record was drug related

  • His Wikipedia page says he did 235 at 94. Anybody know anything about this?

  • Comment removed

  • @LayEmOut60 it was a regional or national polish comp i think, i read it on someone else's youtube post haha

  • Why can't the bigger guys get 600lbs? Hossein is twice the size of this guy but only gets 80lbs more.

  • @Grongo237 The only reason Rezazadeh didn't clean and jerk 270+ was because of his religious and athletic pride and morality. He won all the time, but most of the time he won by the minimum because of said pride.

  • @RandomStevie BS. He tried 263kg twice missing the first time.

  • @tombennettpiano So? I've missed 80kg before, that takes nothing from the fact that I can do 130kg.

  • @RandomStevie you weren't at the olympics and at multiple world championships where you could be judged as the first man to Clean and Jerk 272kg ever. I'm sorry I don't believe Rezazdeh "chose" to not go to his full potential.

  • @tombennettpiano Believe what you believe. All I'm saying is the 263kg clean and jerk looked awfully easy to me.

  • @RandomStevie I believe that multiple supers have done 272 in training...but there's a BIG difference between that and doing it on the world stage. I believe Rezazedah was definitely capable- but it wasn't a "sure" thing. I also believe that Chemerkin was capable too. So was Taranenko, PIsarenko and others. None did it in competition. Why? I don't know.

  • @tombennettpiano Never said any of them did it on a world stage, that's a well known fact. I'm saying that they are all capable of it, and they don't do it on a world stage because of the athletic pride, plus no one has pressured them to make 272.5.

  • @Grongo237 Because things are not proportional. Naim was the first guy to clean&jerk more than 3 times his weight, 192 KG at 60-, 3.2 to be exact, if you apply the same math, then Syzmon should have cleaned & jerked 300 KG instead of 232.5, it does not work that way. I see alot comments against Rezazadeh, may be he is not pretty, may be he is fat and he is from iran, but he was unbeatable. Your guy on the other hand lost to Kakisvillis and existed the sport with 0 gold medals in the olympics.

  • człowiek z charakterem, szacunek dla Niego

  • super...

  • imagine him as a full grown 105kg lifter:O 195snatch and 240-245 clean and jerk. DAMN!

  • Niesamowity:)

Tylko jedno mnie zastanawia, czemu większość komentarzy jest po angielsku,,, ludzie , Polacy co się dzieję,,,to Kołecki,,,ahhh...najlepszy:) He is the best;)

  • ale uwral!!!

  • thats amazing, look at the size of him as well , gotta be pure tecnique

  • @MultiTrollHunter You clearly are ignorant UK trash. If you really want to see me lift more than 100kg then just look at my channel idiot.. im not even a lifter either. You do know he got pop for roids right around this time right?

  • 94!

  • he was probably juiced out of his mind here. he explodes backwards like 12 inch when receiving the clean and bounces off the bottom 4 times? and then nails the jerk... dopest lift on you tube.

  • @glockpop1 i'd love to see your best clean and jerk...what is it? 100kg? hahaahah fucking pathetic loser.

  • As great as this lift is remember the late great Anatoly Khrapaty did 235 weighing 90. Not to take anything away from Kolecki, of course.

  • @NicolletIslandSlim

    Khakhiashvili too...

  • @JacktheDaniels

Did Kaki do 235 @ 90 also? If so, I had forgotten. Was this before or after his move to Greece?

  • @NicolletIslandSlim

    Before Greece.

It was his winning lift at the '92 Barcelona Olympics, IMO one of the greatest high-pressure performances of all time.

In typical Kakhiashvili style, he was lightning fast under the bar to catch, and the power jerk was a thing of beauty.

  • @NicolletIslandSlim

    Here it is:

    /watch?v=bmbozxLQYjw

  • @JacktheDaniels

Aha! I had forgotten that, shame on me! More and more guys are using the squat jerk now, aren't they? It's amazing how low some of them, particularly the Asians, can get with straight arms overhead. It takes unbelieveable trunk flexibility to do that. I'm dating myself here, but the first guy I saw do it at the elite, international level was Sots, from USSR, way back in the '70's. I think he was a middle heavy (90 kg) or first heavy (100 kg).

  • @NicolletIslandSlim Did it in the olympics with russia for the win!

  • The 1st 5 seconds it looked like some skinny fat kid comming out of knowere to lift some serious wieght.

especially when he bends his leg like that lol. great lift

  • Brawo Szymon jesteś wielki Polska Górą !!!!!

  • great stuff! ! ! ! ! That is real power

  • one of the most efficient lifters ever!

  • Incredible jerk.

  • jokerwill7 you are yourself kurwa

  • This is honestly amazing, jr 94kg lifter clean and jerking 232.5kg. How can anyone talk smack on this lift?

  • this is still the WR for this weight class at any age too

  • 105?

  • @grambo22 I think this was him getting the junior record as a 105.

  • he is from poland

    so he is KURWA !!!!!

  • it looks like he can jerk more, but can't handle the extra weight in the clean position.

  • Most of the worlds best lifts can jerk 6% more than they can clean

  • he looks like he weighs 3 whole lbs.

  • That's probably the most explosive jerk I have ever seen!

  • he doesnt have big muscles but he can lift bitg weights

  • Are you for real? I bet you think Ronnie Coleman is the strongest guy in the world!

Hypertrophy is not proportional to strength!

  • core strength

  • too bad he struggles with like 225 in competition

  • its amazing...a guy this small cleans 232.5kg when people in the 105+ max out about 255kg

not to mention this is junior as well

  • what injuries does kolecki have.

  • WOW!

  • Thats not a snatch you geniuses learn your lifts!

  • he's a very tall looking middleweight.

  • o kurwa dynamit

  • He was never the same after his back problems. I've wondered if moving up a weightclass and adding a little bulk might have prevented some of his problems. He's a lot like Taner Sagir, not a big squat and has to absolutely fly under the weights due to being much taller than most of his competitors. Anyway, this was a hell of a lift.

  • Everybody assumes Sagir doesn't have a big squat. How do you know this? Was it written in Milo or something?

  • I don't know Sagir's actual squat numbers, I'm just judging basing it on the fact that he has great speed and timing, but he still typically struggles to stand up with max cleans only to nail the jerk like it's nothing (very Kolecki like). I've also seen him dump a few cleans. It just seems like he uses his speed and explosiveness to make up for bad squatting leverages, kind of the opposite of a lot of shorter, stockier lifters that can squat a house but struggle with their jerks.

  • Sagir is 5'7" and 170lbs (pretty slim for a world/ Olympic Champion/Record holder). I don't know if he is jerking weights he fails to Squat (like Kolecki), but you are definitely right about his speed and explosiveness. I hope Kolecki get's that gold medal someday and Sagir should move up to the 85s and duke it out with Yufkin if he's not permanently injured.

  • I think there is a good chance both Kolecki and Sagir are finished lifting but that is entirely a guess

  • I wouldn't consider a 232.5kg front squat (at bare minimum, probably closer to 240) that bad.

  • Of course it's not bad, but it is low relative to his C&J compared to others in his weight class. If you check out the training hall tapes, his teammate Azanidze easily outdoes Kolecki in the back squat despite competing in a lower weightclass.

  • but i bet azanidze could never come close to cleaning 232.5

  • Probably not, his struggle with the lockout on his jerks was a major hindrance. He could hang with Kolecki in the snatch however.

  • No, that's not bad, just a World Record. You might want to notice that this lift here is a Clean and Jerk in an international competition, not a back squat in some training hall tape.

  • Congratulations on missing the entire point. And we all know Kaki's the real record holder. ;-)

  • his best FS is higher than that. His best training clean and jerk is 240.

  • He looked like he was about to pass out, i can see why.

  • false, aramnau was in the 105 class. this was set in the 94's and the record still stands

  • que jerk tan poderoso

  • wasn't he like 18 in this

  • That is INCREDIBLE. He is very small here compared to now, the speed in that jerk is just ridiculous... Does anyone know when this record was set and if it still stands? Thank you.

  • Mój idol tez trenuje ten swietny sport i mam nadzieje ze bede chociaz w połowie tak dobry jak on...:)

  • Jest niewiarygodnie silny!

  • How many times did he wanna bounce to get outta the hole?!

That is one of the reasons my club does front squats starting at the bottom. Get our absolute strength up, so we don't get stuck.

  • So I guess you front squat 232.5?

  • Huh? Do you even know what you're talking about? Getting out of the hole from a clean has got nothing to do with whether you do deadstop front squats or not. It's about using the stored tension in you muscle from the fast negative, which you can only really teach by doing cleans.

I guess you are not saying that your local Australian club has got better training ideas than the Polish National Team? Because it sounded like that.

  • I didn't say that, nor did I imply that. But, our Olympic weightlifters don't bounce 3-4 times to get out of the hole.

We train our squats like that to simply assist us in a means of making our legs stronger from the bottom position.

  • do your weightlifters hold world records

    oh

  • It's not really a question of strength here as far as getting up on a single bounce but whether or not the bar is in the right position. You'll notice when he catches it the bar wasn't quite in the right position for him cause it was coming down on him probably a little sooner than he expected. The bounces are to make minor adjustments to racking. Beautiful lift!

  • the bouncing is al about the way u skat in training. if u skat with ur hips out to keep ur lower back strong and keep ur hands near ur shouldres to keep ur lats tight, or just keep everything strong and get up and down in a strainght position. he also does it as an ajustment as he caught the weight very low, so at the last bounce he can get tight and skat the bar.

  • Do you also maybe want to suggest a longer pause after a hard clean? He really needs that kind of comments to set WRs.

  • In official iwf site i see that his wr was done in Sofia but this lift looks like was in Slovakia. Or?

  • Yes, you are correct it is world junior record of 232.5 kg when he briefly moved up to 105

  • @Olylift was this before or after he got caught for steroids?

  • @GermanicPrussian this lift occurred 3 years before that

  • @Olylift he's still one of the best...but it makes you wonder? i'm not trying to be rude. But, do the rest have to be on to compete at that level?

  • @GermanicPrussian I have no knowledge of such things, his suspension did not last long though. I just like the sport and do what little I can on the platform

  • RimRongDang!

  • Eg kan ikkje fatte at han bare er 18 år der...

I can just not realize that he is just 18 years old there...

  • ten facet jest debeściak!!!!!! ;-O

  • NICE!!!

  • no Szymek 3mam kciuki !!! Pekin jest Twój :)))))))))

  • awsome 94kg lifter.....my fav Go Szymon !

  • unreal !

  • bardzo ładnie

  • Wow 3 bounces on the clean recovery!

  • wow that jerk was insanley easy

  • i don't understand yet, how could kakhiasvilis defeat this guy.

  • he wrecked his knee on his second clean and jerk attempt during the 2000 olympic competition

  • Fantastic technique but he does fly into the catch incredibly fast.

  • @0lbaid22 , No,he twisted his ankle during the clean, you can check the video at the Weigthlifting exchange forum.

  • Well, Kaki clean and jerked 235 super easy in '96 - and his snatch was better than Kolecki.

I wish Kolecki wouldn't have injured his leg in 2000 - he would have really pushed Kaki (and Kaki got injured as well on his 1st clean and jerk)

  • Kaki would not have won against Kolecki - of that I'm sure.

I still have the vid from that competition, what a pity that Szymon injured himself...

  • agreed...it really is a shame he injured himself. he was never really able to recover fully from it and get his lifts back up to where they were at that time.

  • And I fear, that all the hype behind his young rival from Kazachstan is well founded - I do not think that Szymon will be able to jerk the gold medal in Beijing.

  • bellissimo slancio

  • godamn he is crazy he will make ilya ilin make a run for his money cant wait to see the battle between thos two guys

  • Didn't he have back surgery within the last few years?

Lift is fuckin' savage tho, he jerks it like its nothin.. I hope he does good in '08.

  • Beautiful! Brilliant! See him clutching his back as he walks off, a sign of problems to come.
