  • Quelle énergie dans ce morceau ! Tous les musiciens rentrent dedans. Un pur moment de bonheur ! J'aurais bien aimé être à ce concert !

  • OMG thank you!!! R.I.P. RANDY JO HOBBS!!! :-D

  • Been looking for this version, absolutely the best one.... thanks a bunch for posting!

  • Best Blues/Rock album EVER!!!

  • @whocares1694 This coming from someone called "whocares1694"...lol. As it happens, I agree with you!

  • @musicaldun1 Speaking of which........musicaldun1......could you please be kind and upload the rock medley of "Great Balls of Fire/Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" from this album.......I'll be your friend forever! :-D

  • @whocares1694

Nothing can touch this version of Jumping Jack Flash - it's like getting a convertible fitted to your scalp. Absolutely bl**ding stunning........

  • Johnny and the Junkies. I love this album as I really like most of Johnny's albums. I bought seven tickets back in '88 cause he was coming here; to Edmonton Alberta. Outside the seating area was beer for sale and the washrooms were packed with people smoking weed and hash. I gave the tickets to friends and we had the time of our lives. I kept a close eye on Johnny's guitar playing and there were times I could of sworn there were two guitars playing. Yes; he is That good. I will never forget it.

  • @Starpass Was with a couple of buds in San Fran ,,,, Sept 69 , we headed up to the Fillmore John was playing 4 nights Thurs. through Sun w/ Freddy King and Albert King, Bozz Scagg was still local player did a couple numbers . This was one of the best live performances I have ever seen ,,,, Johnny was on fire . Bill Graham even watched the show and bought a few drinks for all ,, Good Nite , Best wishes "" Cosmic Traveler"

  • @TheBigvolt This and Made in Japan '72 are my two favourite Live Albums. In my opinion there is nothing out there that has the aggressive energy that even comes close to what Johnny and Purple could put down back then.

  • Do not you know this animation?

  • Stones are out the back door here!

  • Good ol' Johnny, starting each song with his customary, "YEAHHHHHHHHH"!

  • The Rollings what?

  • Great song! Best cover of a song ever. 70's rock rules! I saw many a concert during the 1970's at the Spectrum in Philly.

  • I bought this album the minute I saw it as a kid in 1971. This album is without a doubt the best Johnny Winter live recording that I know of. If there is better please someone tell me about it. Listen to the interplay between EVERYONE on the stage. Hittin' the note and extremely tight. If any of you younger players ever wondered what a REAL rock and roll band sounds like when it's hitting on all cylinders...this is it. This is the degree of solidity to be striving for in a band. Make it happen.

  • Very nice.. Johnny is good, but Rick Derringer is doing some very nice rythm too.. rock and roll hoochie koo !

  • @Nielsanderspoulsen - It's the interplay of the entire band that makes it so great!!!

  • @dmorourke

You are right.. dont forget Randy Z and Randy Joe Hopps

  • @Nielsanderspoulsen Sorry, Bobby Caldwell on drums..

  • Elvin Bishop-Johnny Winter And-The Allman Brothers

All made Live albums at the Fillmore East that night

I was there and Johnny & Rick rocked....

  • @victhebassman

Oh you lucky b*str*rd - must have been one hell of a night!!

  • I don't care ... this makes the Stones sound like Paul Revere and the Raiders..

  • @HPBish I'm not gonna argue with that. I like Paul Revere and the Raiders, and I like both versions of this song. The Stones version is the original and a true classic. But...Johnny's version KICKS ASS!!!

  • @HPBish I agree entirely. This version is edgy, rough, and rocking.

  • @HPBish

    Nonsence !

  • My introduction to R&R. First song I ever heard on my paretnts stereo when I put the vinal on the table......

  • This was the first version of Jump. Jack I ever heard in the early 70's. It is fokki'n good.

    But Stones original is better.

  • Fantastic Johnny !! and those wondeful musicians...

    Thanks for posting incl pictures.

  • v nice montage.!

  • I've never heard Winter and Co. do a version that's as tight and rocking as this. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. Band must have been shit-hot from touring.

  • Thanks for posting. This version is killer. Why is it never heard on FM radio?

  • @Staggerbaroque That is a damn fine question, to which I have no answer.

  • @Staggerbaroque that's right,it never was played "back in the day" either, those bastards

  • @Staggerbaroque you never heard on the FM radio because you are not from Detroit.

  • @Staggerbaroque Because they don't play music for REAL ROCKERS any more. I saw them DO THIS live, when a Marshall was high tech. Now it's all electronics. Pity.

  • does he retune to standard tuning or is this in open A like Mean Town Blues ?

  • @talpajam If you check out any 'live' performance videos of the song, you'll see standard tuning.

  • @niclucianosr I was in the process of being born that same night.

  • Recorded at Pirate's World, a defunct amusement park that was located in Dania, Florida - just south of Ft. Lauderdale. Buy a $3.00 ticket, get high, ride the rides and when the huge, open shed-like structure they used for the concerts started filling up, you go get a good seat in the bleachers and watch amazing bands play. Back then you could bring in bottles or containers of whatever, and tons of weed was smoked at every event. A different world back then we thought would only get better. HA!

  • For me, it is one of the most smokin' tracks that I've ever heard in R&R. I've always wanted to hear the rest of that set from the club in Florida where this was recorded.

  • Hey Keith take some lessons from Johnny

  • @Oldsurferguy1 Johnny can play it but Keith wrote it!

  • @detaildon: "Keith wrote it but Johnny can play it BETTER!" There. I fixed it for ya! :-p

  • @WA7PRC Sings it better too!

  • best cover ever!

  • A versão em 45 rpm é mais original e dançante. A introdução é a de Johnny B Goode (Grito de Rock and Roll ) deste album. Arraso !
