  • is it better to get a bird that is of the opposite sex of yourself?

  • what a beautiful bird. I am looking for another parrot, could you say what are they like noisewise compared to say, a cockatiel?

  • awww so cute! what are they like as pets? are they cuddly, demanding, noisy etc? someone please reply! im trying to find the perfect bird for me.

  • He is very lovely. I have a regent parrot as well. :))

  • :c i want one SOOO bad i still cant find anyone who breeds them here in San Francisco ca..

  • He's a beauty!

  • wonderful bird! welcome to my video with regent parrot from Russia. She takes pleasure in circus tricks. Her name is Osya (Ostap)

  • Do you live in Australia? I've been trying to find a Regent in Adelaide but...No luck. I'm pretty happy with my two Princess Parrots though. How did you train him to fly to you?

  • Hey mate, yes I live in Australia (TAS) and a friend of mine breeds them. I was very lucky to get Enzo as the only male from his parents first successful nesting. He naturally sees me as his partner so I didn't have to trainin him to fly to me, he will just do it naturally.

  • Ah well that's lucky haha, he looks like a really nice bird. What's their temper like?

  • Their temperament is really good, almost human like. In that he will gain confidence to be around people but has times where he needs his space or wants to be left alone (when he's tired). If you push your luck he will warn that he is planning to bite you. Most of the time he'll happily sit on your shoulder or fly around the room and come back to you.

  • Yeah i might try and get one when i finish with my Princess Parrots etc. Can you take him outside and let him free fly? And does he come back? Or is it only inside.

  • I probably couldn't trust him outside so I've never tried. He would run out of puff pretty quickly because he doesn't get the same exercise that a wild bird does, but he could get himself stuck in a tree that I can't get to.

  • He is amazing! I'm considering adopting a Regent's parakeet but I can't choose between one of those or an Eastern Rosella! argh. But handsome bird! Keep taking good care of him :)

  • such a beauty!!! the best companions...xxoo

  • Hello Mr Rainey. I like this very much. These birds are awesome. My favourite parrot, the Princess Parrot, is of the same genus as the Regent.

    They are super

  • beautiful...

    just beautiful!

I had always thought Cockatiels were the best Australian fliers, but this one proves this may be incorrect!!

    close though!

    thx for sharing -

    he is beautiful

  • Hey! Thanks for the comment! He is a beautiful bird indeed, such a great temperament too.

  • I have been doing a little bit of research on them...

do they come in other colors as well?

not that I need more birds...

but... I do like learning about other birds!

    (I have Cockatiels

    and Lineolated Parakeets)

    ;-)

  • he is gorgeous, especially when he flies! I have a regent parrot too :) they are fantastic pets!

  • Do they get along well with other birds?

  • Yeah, really well. They are very inquisitive and friendly birds. More likely to be picked on, than the other way around.

  • Enzy boy! I still love you despite what you did to my hair.....

  • What a charmer. Thank you for sharing this video with us. :)
