  • Best voice is rock history. Simple.

  • Muito linda essa musica, ficou melhor com a orquestra...

Acho que foi difícil melhorar o que já é bom!!! rsrs

  • Amazing Steven, amazing musicians!! I read someplace that Steven wrote that song when he was 17.

  • @FOOFOOKITTY Yes he did, there is a Old VHI behind the Music and they talk about how at the very young age of 17 Steven wrote a song so deep and meaning full. Like someone much older reflecting on his life and giving that wisdom to a young person. I have also seen shows that talked to him mentioning this too.

  • @ross121670 Steven Tyler is obviously a gifted writer as well as a charismatic performer and personality - I also heard that, when they were teenagers, Joe Perry heard Steven sing and immediately wanted to work with him. I heard a recording of steven when he was young and he had a GORGEOUS voice! All the screaming tho ... it's taken a toll. Still he's amazing!

  • @FOOFOOKITTY true... but I think the raspiness adds to his voice now too! They're awesome... no words.

  • anapoutsiasa!!!!!

  • God is singing through Steven Tyler...

  • Stevn Tyler ate my heart

  • I was there for this, I won tickets from a local rock radio station.

The energy was amazing, definately a highlight in my life!!

  • de las mejores interpretaciones de este temazo...

  • brings tears to my eyes everytime :') i love this song <3

  • perfection :P

  • GREATNESS~!!!!

  • i abosuteally love this song. it makes me cry almost every time is listen to it.

  • hell yea viva mexico we like aeros...too

  • so fucking epic

  • @SebastianEduardoLeto Well put....anyone who wonders what Steven Tyler's qualification is to be a talent show judge, here it is in 4:51....

  • kamen, tyler, aerosmith, and incredible song... ok that's enough! just God himself is missing!

  • this kind of songs last 4ever

  • It's on iTunes

  • @MishArsenal to hell with itunes

  • @MishArsenal the reason is i cant share my songs with my friends if i buy them on itunes cause they put an id code on the song that only allows it to play on that device so to hell with apple and to hell with all apple products LONG LIVE ANDROID THE NON LOCKED OPEN SOURCE PHONE BETTER THEN MICROCRAP WINDOWS PHONES

  • @thug4life2005 i ook my ipod that i had and instead of selling it or giving it someone who would of liked to have one i took it to the firing range and shot it up the best fun i had with an apple product.

  • once again epic Michael Keaman

  • I'd give half of my half to get a time-machine and go back to be there... i wasn't even alive when this concert happened.. this is just too awesome, too beautiful, too powerful and unique.

  • I was at this show. We had to show up at some place in Chelmsford, MA with a bunch of cans of food for a food pantry. My friend, Laurie and I got there wicked early and were one of the only people to get tickets. Watching this performance is one of the most chilling and wonderful things I have ever seen. Steven Tyler had to come down on the wire with the piano twice, but other then that they didn't need to do any retakes at all. It was amazing! I am so thankful to be able to relive this again!

  • I just can get enough

  • This, is the sexiest thing I have ever seen. I just had a complete eargasm.

  • 6 people dont know how to dream

  • Wow ! Off the Chart 4 sure ")

  • Queen + Aerosmith = Music

  • ONE OF THE BEST PREFORMACES IVE EVER SEEN!,GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS,BEEN AN AEROSMITH FAN FOR 27 YEARS AND ILL BE ONE TILL THE DAY I DIE!!! BEST BAND EVER!

  • Anyone that doesn't think Steven Tyler should judge a talent competition, should just watch this performance....talk about talent!

  • BEST AEROSMITH PERFORMANCE EVER..BY FAR.

  • thousand times watching this clip..i still have goosebumps..!!!

  • Definitely One Of Their Best Performances It Acutally Made Me Tear A Bit Aerosmith And The Orchestra Truely Made Magic In This Performance!

  • buna piesa!!!

  • Off the chain

  • there're 6 stupid persons

  • I think...that was one of the greatest things I have ever seen...

  • I agree this is the greatest performance of this song... but the info doesn't match. The details of the video say early 90's for 10th anniversary... but the 10th anniversary would have been in 1989, not the 90's since it was first launched in 79.

  • @HEwhoDIESoften

MTV had its first broadcast on August 1st 1981. This recording is from 1991, probably also around august. Joe Perry's haircut matches 1991, he wore his hair slightly different in 1990 and 1989.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

  • sick hair!

  • Anytime a phenomenal rock or metal band is playing with an orchestra, Michael Kamen is behind it. RIP Kamen, you were one of the best orchestral composers and arrangers of your day. Metallica, Queen, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, and the list goes on. You are missed. I'd say this and Metallica's performance of "Nothing Else Matters" with Michael Kamen conducting the orchestra at the 1999 S&M Concert are two fo the greatest moments in rock music history.

  • @ninpo4life

I so totally agree!!! Every hair on my body is standing on end as I type!!!

  • @ninpo4life

As somebody who wants to arrange popular and mainstream music for the orchestra to get people into listening to the orchestra and play classical instruments, I should look into Michael Kamen and his works.

  • @ViolinSnowKid2 Yes, you definately should. I'm a professional musician and I cannot give higher praise to Michael Kamen. Good luck with your work, let me know if I can be of assistance. I have personally tried to write orchestral accompaniment for pop music - it's difficult to make the accompaniment interesting, as most pop songs revolve around the same time signature and the same four chords for the entire song. However, rock music and metal music is generally more complex.

  • insanely amazing!

  • What a great Video Love Steven Tyler a Great Performer,

  • ..and at 3:26 the tears started rolling with a blast of personal sheer emotion ! WOWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Orchestral arrangement absolutely perfect how I would have LOVED to have been part of the strings section.

  • Great Song

  • Aerosmith=LIVING LEGEND

  • WOW !!!

  • This performance is one of the greatest I 've ever listened to...

DREAM ON!!! DREAM ON!!! DREAM ON!!! AaAaAaAaAAAA...

    STEVEN IS SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!

  • @panagiotisMETALROCK Then which is the best?

  • @1dcpony Maybe you're right...THIS one IS THE BEST performance...;)

  • @panagiotisMETALROCK imo(and it is just an opinion) dio+malmsteen version is way better! anyways the song is amazing and i like this version too

  • @panagiotisMETALROCK Agreed! OH, you'll love Eagles' "Wasted Time" live performance too. I love it better than the studio recording.

  • I think that arguable, this may be the best rock performance in the last 20 years

  • @sueellen360 Cross out "in the last 20 years" and replace it with ever. Maybe not the best song or best group ever, but definitely the best performance ever!

  • This one single performance is the ONLY Aerosmith performance I ever liked.

  • @3Storms Pshhhh. Poop on you. They're good ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE!

  • 3:37 - Think Mr. Tyler just flicked his 'Uber Epic' button firmly into the 'on' position. Not that he wasn't already kicking serious ass, by the way.

  • I remember watching the MTV 10 Anniversary show that night and if I am not mistaken, they cut to this performance, which I believe was performed directly from Aerosmith's concert that night at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston.

  • Everyone should, just once in their life, have a moment this monumental and perfect. Easily the best live performance I have ever seen. The band, the song, the orchestra - no wonder MTV stopped showing music - they were never going to top this!

  • MY MIND WILL FOREVER BE BLOWN BY THIS GORGEOUS PERFORMANCE

  • Shit. I swear I thought I was gonna die I loved it so much it blew my fucking mind!! Jesus just imagine how he feels, a little song he wrote when he was 17 and all these people are jizzing themselves over it... That's gotta feel good.

  • was this conducted by michale kamen?

  • @lucasman30 yes it was

  • I was 10 years old when I heard this part @3:47-4:00 and it blew my fucking mind away and I instantly became of fan of Aerosmith

  • @CavemanJesus4Life me too excpet i was 12

  • I LOOVEEEEEEEEE the screaaaaaaaam at the end <333 Omg

    I love aerosmith! :)

  • how can he go that high is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is my dads and mine favorite band.

  • Gotta love Aerosmith! My mum listened to it all when I was a little kid and I've grown up loving Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Rush, and Def Leppard.

  • what a performances!!! blows off everyone's roofs...

  • 5 people listens Rebecca Black everyday.

  • @viniciusszlima Shush.

  • EPIC STUFF

  • @GozOfMetal Conductor Michael Kamen here also conducted Metallica's S&M.....peace+love2all....

  • Very classy and classic performance-I remember when it first aired on MTV. Joe Perry is just BREATHTAKING! He is the epitome of RockStar in this video. Epic.

  • the whole crowd with the lighters up the sexiest fukn thing

  • ...Steven is so fucking cute when he's got his mic in his hand! Well he's cute all the time but best when he's singing!

  • @beatlesmusic92 well you clearly took my comment seriously

  • this would be a lot better autotuned

  • @fuckyougreaseball

Autotuned?? Have you never heard a real orchestra? I've been in orchestras for a long time and this is great. Educate yourself on how real music sounds; this is it buddy. This is awesome.

  • I want to be in that orchestra. 0_0

    SO BADLY.

too bad I wasn't born yet.

Baby Boomers Express!!! I'll be with you guys until the END!!!!!! Just take care of Scotty... Steven you seem to appreciate the next generation as I do... LOVING AMERICAN IDOL & AEROSMITH

  • Anyone else noticed Bill Bailey on guitar at @1:53 ???? XD

  • @ross121670

Whats with all the huge, long comments? feelings can be summed up in two simple words - for example - "Dream on!!"

  • Steven Tyler sounds exactly the same in the recording studio than he does live, there isn't any fancy equiptment helping him, he doesn't need it- that in itself is a gift.

    LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Simply amazing. That scream'n is unreal!

  • one of the gods of rock

  • What a great performance! I get chills everytime I listen to it.

  • Everythings better with a flying piano

  • I saw this live on TV back in 1991 even then I knew years later people would still say this might be the best live version of any song of all time. The set up, sound, his voice being so perfect would be hard to ever match. When I played this for High School kids a couple weeks ago the whole class stopped all they were doing and just sat entranced in what they were hearing, and all wanted to know when this was made.

  • @ross121670 Damn straight 1973 was a very good year I remember it well. Ahh hell most of the seventies bands were great, cause a lot of them were born in the mid to late forties grew up with fifties Doo Wop, and came of age in the sixties,Tyler is sixty three, but to have a song or album of such longevity, only a few can make that boast, Pink Floyd's Dark side of the Moon being one of them

  • Long Live Aerosmith!!

  • wow, Aerosmith is one of the best

  • steven tyler sounds good with the Orchestra

  • Early 1990's? I THOUGHT THIS WAS IN THE 70s! DAMN, Steven Tyler NEVER ages!

  • GREATEST PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIME. PERIOD.

  • @Animelloveer amen!

  • Goosebumps! I LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • i dont know why but this the song of beyonce halo remind me of this song there something of both song that make it amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jafet23ful when it is a song that appeals to most anyone and has great vocals and sound, it stands out. Other examples are Hotel California, Stairway to Heaven, Hey Jude, Sweet Child O' Mine, Billy Jean, I will always love you, Rock N' Roll all Night and Party Everyday, Unchained Melody, etc. You get the picture. Though them songs might not be all time favorites for me and you they do standout and you know everyone of them songs and all are 20-50 years old. That is a sign of a great song.

  • Everybody in life surely got their dues to pay.............

  • One of their best performances. As a veteran Aerosmith concert goer, this is right up there as the best. BRAVO!!

  • I just Love this song so so so so so so fucking much.

  • the best

  • 5 people have no dreams...so sad

  • ecstacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i would have had a heart attack if i was there. :)

  • 10pts. Perfect! Awesome presence and outfits!!!

  • ahhhh, back when MTV was actually about MUSIC TELEVISION.

  • Steven Tyler gives me goosebumps when he sings <3 one of the few people who can do that in the studio and live

  • @12danieb12

I just had goosebumps listening to this. long live steven tyler

  • I've loved this song since the '70's... but now... I get it...

  • Love this version of the song. Having the orchestra made it seem more complete. It's too bad Michael Kamen died so young (55).

  • ----I heard Steven Tyler wrote this song when he was only 18 ! Even more astonishing than his singing talent is the maturity he had at such an early age. This song could only come from the depths of an old Soul.

  • I agree with the guy who said that Aerosmith is one of the best bands of all time with one of his best songs in one of his best performances and all in a single video is even better

  • holy shit.

  • yea im one of the few black people who actually like this music rather than rap and hip hop

  • i love !COMPLETLY LOVE! this video its the best live performance ive ever seen in my life i love it steve tyler is my idol i love him STEVE TYLER FTW!! best song EVER!!

  • pure genius

  • I'd put this performance up against any live performance out there today, and this would win hands down. Not even close!!!

  • I see all the type of music for me all the perfomace is that

1 - Aerosmith Dream on with orchestra

    2 - Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here/Live 8

3 - Lady Gaga with Elton John

    4 - Jay - Z / Chester / PAUL MCCARTENEY

  • @de80xD My top five:

    1. Any full Eagles concert

    2. The Who Won't get Fooled Again from The Kids are Alright

    3. Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb from the Pulse Tour

    4. Fleetwood Mac Rhiannon 1976

    5. Muse Butterflies and Hurricanes

It's rare that you find a band that's really good live, but these guys all fit the bill. If you don't know them very well, (I'd feel sorry for you if you didn't.) listen to them all. Get to know the lesser tracks. These guys are all awesome.

  • nádhera

  • @80toxic největší.

  • Oh my God! This is the best version of one of the best songs of all time. I love the power the orchestra gives it. Like others have said............goosebumps.

  • Chills :O

  • This song makes me wanna go to war and fight for rock n' roll and I wouldn't even care if I died. It just makes you feel so patriotic for real music!

  • i got the chills

  • Comment removed

  • -----This was already one of my favorite songs of all time, but after seeing this live version with the thrust of the Orchastra behind it , WOW!!! ABsolutely the GREATEST LIVE ROCK PERFORMANCE EVER !!!

  • I've seen Aerosmith in concert 5 times. This version of Dream On is the best that I've ever seen performed by them. I saw Steven Tyler sing the national anthem at the Boston Bruins home opener game this past Thursday night. Unfortunately he was HORRIBLE!!!

  • I saw Aerosmith 08/12/10, and during Dream On, I used a fucking lighter..I didn't use my cellphone, no one did that I could see actually...I loved it :D

  • LOVE IT SO MUCH . <3

    Miss real music like that.

  • God, I would LOVE an instrumental version of this orchestrated version. I'm not saying I don't like Stephen Tyler (he's a fantastic singer), but that would sound so cool!!!

  • pure genius

  • I often wonder if there were any other children besides my son that were conceived after seeing this :)

  • This is perfect!

the high notes are beautiful just no words for it.

    I LOVE IT

  • Awesome! ! xDD! I just wish to go to their concert some day before anything happens

  • just magic.....no other way to describe it

  • I was 8 when I first saw this. MTV and VH-1 played this heavy around that time. This is a KICK ASS version of this song.

  • Steven was always pitch perfect...

  • I was up in the balcony at the Wang Center in Boston when they did this. :) It was awesome! After they got this song down they put on a mini concert. One very cool night!

  • Such a full sound coming out.... Great!!!

  • This is by far the best version of Dream On! Adding the orchestra perfected an already perfect song!!!

  • Tyler's feeling is kinda of amazing

  • Aerosmith pwns ..

  • 3:38 you rock!!!!!

  • BEST version of this song! LOVE IT.

  • Piękna piosenka piękne wykonanie...;)
