  • sounds like Age of mythology music :D

  • awesome

  • love jason, and love joe.

  • I could only imagine what this great man and musician could do if he was still able to play his instrument! :)

    Jason Becker forever! :)

  • I knew it it had to be played by joe satriani I am so glad i recognized his guitar :)

  • God made on purpose to make Becker ill so he could release music like this...

It's Beautiful... just that, we can't say anything else.... Just Plain Beautiful!

  • This song was composed by becker with the help of the communication system based on eye movements (invented by his father), it is performed by Joe Satriani though. It's amazing that Becker can compose this amazing piece of art being completely crippled...

  • i think this is vai...

  • @almirgeko not vai, this is satch playing

  • Its too bad what happened to him.He was so awesome

  • Thank you for posting this music and I loved your video too!

  • This sounds like Satriani. Am I right?

  • Jason Becker made some awesome music. This song is on collections, composed by Jason, played by friends. You can hear the indian style intro from Joe Satriani, after the breakdown you hear Michael Lee Firkins (dobro and guitar) and Dave Lopez (guitar) play... THIS DESCRIPTION WAS MADE BY THE PAGE OF JASON BECKER ON FACEOOK

  • Is there any other Song that Jason Becker has that sound sort of Indian like this one? Man I really love the sound of this tone.

  • I'd like to bang a chick during the whole song

  • @Kaeralho I know what you mean :P

  • i love that first picture

  • The beginning is in Lydian mode, that's why you think it's Vai/Satriani style, but I don't know who recorded it.

  • justin bieber dont like any kind of art period

  • jason becker is my hero...thats all there is to be said

  • 1 person has a stick up his ass.

  • Seriously the one person who disliked this should burn in hell.

  • lots of arguing over if its Satch or Vai playing the first part. Personally I think its Vai but I mean why doesn't someone just check out the song credits somewhere. Besides regardless of the player, Jason composed that intro bit anyways so really its just being played as Jason wanted it to be played. Its more likely Satch did more work on the River of Longing track along with Marty Friedman and Vai got that piece at the start of this track.

  • when you hears the intro, you know its steve vai.

    no need to ask.

  • @TheFarriesmetalhead you either listen to too much vai or not enough satch. their playing styles are similar in some ways but they are distinctly different. vai plays on the river of longing reprise.

  • SAtriani is the performer of this people

  • that weird pitch in 1:59-2:09 almost like a flute noice is acually a chinese guy that can sing 3 pitches. I forgot his name but he sang in some parts for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones on one of their DVDs

  • Sounds like Vai. He was playing this wasn't he? I know he got a bunch of people to work on this album.

  • the percussion/background music is indian.

at start it sounded like satriani ?

  • This is so sweet! Thank you very much!

    Jason

  • It's definitely either Satch or Vai.

  • a really cool song, mmm with a lot of musical content!

    NICE BECKER!!!

  • Becker will remain a musical genius whether he is able bodied or not. This proves it.

  • sad he cant play anymore

  • The beginning is Satriani! =p

  • questo brano e' un opera d'arte incoparabile! mi trasporta in un turbine di emozioni...Grazie jason! Fabio C.

  • jason rocks,nice vid!!

  • I would give anything to shake his hand once... Even my hand, and I'm a musician.

  • @darkmrpopnfresh his youtube channel is "beckerooski"

You should drop by and tell him hello, I am sure he would appreciate it. :) He even commented on my music and said he liked it, which is an OUT OF THIS WORLD HONOR.

    He is my hero. :)

  • jason is my inspiration..

  • Very nice ,I want that first deep blue landscape, where can I get it please.

    Than you for posting this.

  • Definitely, definitely Satch! Beginning part is quite similar to the way he starts live versions of 'Up in Flames'...

  • dude the start is satch all over

  • @MrBadhorse777 sounds like Vai, but hell Satch taught Vai.

  • @MrBadhorse777 absolutely yes

  • @englandink Vai played on River of Longing reprise with Marty Friedman.

  • suck a cock if you don´t know do not comment without the correct info

  • Incredible!

  • the begining is satriani for sure

  • agreed 100%

  • Is this played By Steve Vai and produced by Becker?? it sounds like it

  • This is a way beyond my knowledge, sorry :)

  • @devic667 steve vai played the guitar, and yes and jason did compose this

  • Joe Satriani: intro and ending guitar solos

Michael Lee Firkins: effected dobro and crunch guitar

    Dave Lopez: guitar

  • @jumpmasterboyo I think you're probably right, seeing as becker has ALS and i remember reading somewhere that Vai helped perform some of beckers ideas.

  • @jumpmasterboyo satch is actually the guitarist on this track though via appears several times on the album

  • @cnmaster01 well Satch taught Vai didn't he?

  • @jumpmasterboyo : yes this's Vai execution (Collection 2008)

  • @jumpmasterboyo satriani

  • @jumpmasterboyo SATRIANI

  • @jumpmasterboyo on his discography it says Becker did it himself

  • @jumpmasterboyo yes it is

  • @jumpmasterboyo

    Satch and Dave Lopez ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @jumpmasterboyo Yeah it is. if you notice around 7:30 that hissing noise? That's actually part of one of the pumps that keeps Jason alive.

  • @jumpmasterboyo

No its not played by Vai, the first solo is from Satriani and the Crunch Guitar is from Michael Firkins.

  • @jumpmasterboyo

    by satriani

  • @jumpmasterboyo Joe Satriani i think

  • @jumpmasterboyo satch is playin the guitar solo.

  • @jumpmasterboyo

Becker doesn't produce anything, he's pure composer now. It would be pretty unreasonable to ask him to do anything so administrative, considering his disease. They probably used Bemesderfer for the new recordings.

  • @jumpmasterboyo Joe Satriani played parts of this song as far as I know :)

  • Jason Becker has a genre of his own

  • What genre of music is this?

  • This is orchestral, this sounds much like video game music. Check out Eminence Orchestra Metal Gear Solid, it sounds similar.

  • Like HawaiiStorm18 said JB has a genre of his own although he used to be a HM guitar player or a sort of "neo-classical" HM player and composer if you wish. This particular piece however represents timeless music in a way.

  • @VinniArora Orgasm.

  • @VinniArora From the heart of a genius! That's kind...

  • @VinniArora

It's been called meditation music, but i don't think Jason writes with a genre in mind. Progressive meditation music is what I'd call it.
