I am from a big town in the Ukraine.I know first hand how the "universal" healthcare worksIt does NOT.Only uneducated idiots belive that the "state" shall provide all for everyone for "free".
are you from a small town? probably in the south? not well informed are you? Study universal health care deeply. Visit Cuba... one of the poorest country's in the world and see how their hospitals are run. You may have the most advanced health care but too many U.S. citizens do not get to enjoy this. In fact, the rest of the world uses your experimental drugs and new treatments, while your citizens are denied their insurance claims, or can't afford premiums.
Yeah I went a little far with the cuba comment, truth is, their health care isn't better than yours, it's equal. If I had to choose between living in one of the poorest country's in the world vs. the states, yeah i'd probably choose the U.S. but cuba is so poor, it's a travesty that their healthcare system is even competitive with yours.
But you must not have RDLPDS (Retroactively Diagnosed Latent Personality Disorder Syndrome--known to non-creepy people and ethical practitioners as PTSD)or you would know exactly how many millions of a part of a piece of crap your "qualification" is worth.
And even if those are/were facts, a middle-aged, self employed adult with any kind of chronic condition who made just over 50,000 could easily end up spending 20 per cent of his/her income on an individual insurance.
You might choose to budget that proportion of your hard-earned money to go into the pockets of some corporation that might help you if you, sort of if you get really sick, but a smart person would probably think twice.
Individual insurance could easily cost a middle-aged person who made just over 50k a year 20 per cent of his/her income. You might choose to budget that proportion of your money to go into the pockets of some corporation that will try not to do what they are supposed to for you, but a smart person would probably think twice.
Every person should have access to a basic level of medical care, and that should be free. That is the government's role, to provide everyone with the basic safety net.

Obama is going to be the worst friggin president you people in america have elected since that guy from georgia named carter. you will be sorry, but then again you not known for being to smart when it comes to electing libersls. This guy has never doen anything.
its politics man. He can't be too detailed about his plan because the opposition will pick it apart. Healthcare is such a complex topic that it is easy to pick one piece of a plan and exploit to the general public as a drastic example of the inadequacy of its logic.
Im sure he knows this, and is just playing the game. You have to do some proper marketing and PR to make President in this ignorant country. Sad but true.
but then how will people know he actually has a plan? I mean, the current admin. said that they had a plan for Iraq, but they didn't. Then the democrats won the midterm election because they claimed they had a plan, but they don't have a plan, or they don't have the balls to enact the plan.
How many times should I blindly trust politicians? Especially when that politician is advocating something that the constitution does not permit the president OR congress to carry out.
If only there were more people like you and I that actually care about the details, and base our decisions on them.
Unfortunately, statistics have shown (The Economist) that more than 70% of American voters are ignorant when it comes to making logical decisions. These ignorant 70% determine who becomes President.
