Thanks guys for such great programs, I have been using both these products for years, You should be applauded for the fantastic support you provide. Many will mention other programs that can do bits and pieces of what AnyDVD and CloneDVD do but none will give the excellent and trouble free results of your programs. Keep up the excellent work!
i'm new to this and sure there's a simple answer. i have a dual drive. after clone dvd finishes creating dvd files, it asks me to put a dvd in the drive D so it can write. How do i get it to just write to the dvd in Drive E?
Also, how do i stop any dvd from scanning every single dvd i insert? can i tell it which dvd's to scan and which to just let play?
Hi - on the output method panel, near the top you can select "DVD Writer" to just assign the other drive for the burning. If it is a pluggable device be sure it is plugged before you start CloneDVD. As for the scanning there is no way to filter discs so right click the AnyDVD tray icon and turn off "autostart". "Exit" AnyDVD. Then start it via the program icon only when you need it and then right click/exit when through. With autostart off it won't start when you boot.
is there anyway to burn a dvd with this program without it being in iso or ts_video format...i downloaded movies from the internet and they were already in dvd format...and i cant get a movie to burn in this program...can you tell me how if its possible
@ckenebrew05 This depends on what you mean by "DVD Format". CloneDVD will burn a VIDEO_TS folder or an ISO file. A downloaded movie may not fit this rule and that is not fair use anyway, most likely. We process downloaded movies but only those which include software that generate a DVD. Now that we can process.
hey i keep getting a anydvd.dmp temp folder when i try to install it. its a rar file but nothing happens , the installation freezes when that pops up. please help anyone
I copied a protected movie disk with ISOrecorder 3.1 into an ISO, is it possible to burn the ISO to a blank disk with AnyDVD and CloneCD? Will it remove the protection?
Yes, if you mount that on our free Virtual CloneDrive and let AnyDVD scan it. It would be a whole lot easier if you used the original DVD w/ AnyDVD>>CloneDVD. If that was a downloaded movie that is totally illegal and not "fair use". That could get you jailed.
@FrankHollander Yeah thanks. I found out the DVD wasn't protected but it still didn't work making the copy with ISOrecorder. I may try later CloneCD and AnyDVD. I'm making the copy because the disk skips and I discovered that after making an ISO and opening with VLC the video didn't skip anymore so I want to burn it to a new disk. I own the disk so I know there is no problem.
If you got the ISO then there are no more protections. Get the free ImgBurn and use the WRITE image function.
Burn it for free. Otherwise you can mount the ISO to Virtual CloneDrive and process that w/ AnyDVD to another directory on the HDD and then burn from there with CloneDVD. Up 2 U.
The simplest way: right click the tray fox icon, "rip video...." and that gets you the content protection free to the hard drive no matter where it is. note: be sure Windows discovers that drive before AnyDVD starts or else AnyDVD will not "see" it.
CloneDVD will handle non-protected DVDs on its own but for retail movies you will need AnyDVD, a pre-processor that strips off the protections and other studio junk in the background as CloneDVD prepares the content for burning. See the product descriptions on slysoft.com, please.
@eddie93203 Use dvd shrink to break copy protection and compress dvd files and img burn to burn onto a dvd. Both are free compare to this. I would use anydvd hd for the blu-ray.
I currently own this program and have only used it to burn dvd to blank back-ups. I now have almost 1,000 back-ups. At this point I would like to put all my back-ups on my hard-drive so I can search like a database. What is the best way to do this using CloneDVD?
I'm trying to convert a DVD into a good quality format for storing either on my hard drive or playing through a media centre. What's the best file format? and do I use this video's advice to convert into a hard drive format first and then something else to convert it into maybe.. a .avi afterwards?
You can use the "rip video..." option in AnyDVD for that and play the VIDEO_TS directly on the hard drive. As for AVI, you'll need AnyDVD and CloneDVD mobile for that.
HELP!!! :o)~ Once it begins to read/copy the video files, it stops and says "The system cannot read from the specified device. If reading the media has failed, please clean the surface and try again." When I click "details" it says "File 1 E:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_04_1.VOB 30 TCSectorReader WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???
Normally this means the DVD contains some poorly written data not affecting playing it. Open a support ticket. Create an AnyDVD log zip and attach that (right click the tray fox and see "create logfile".
I am not often looking in this email account and I'd prefer you open a support ticket over "contact" at slysoft.com. Feel free to ask for me specifically when you do that and I'd be glad to help you.
You have failed to understand the concept of reauthoring.
CloneDVD is a reauthoring program. If you use it to copy a dual layer disc onto a dual layer blank, you lose all original UDF metadata, dates, labels, original disc identifaction data, and anything not in video_ts (i.e., DVD-ROM content). Depending on the version you use, you may also lose the original layer break position.
If your goal is as accurate a backup as possible and you are using dual layer blanks for dual layer originals, you will not achieve your goal if you use CloneDVD.
CloneDVD is not properly named, it does NOT "clone" a DVD. It REAUTHORS.
Hmm... then the 700,000 or so using CloneDVD must all be sniffing printer cartridges. Many do DL to DL and I have yet to hear a single complaint like what you say. In fact, many users would like CloneDVD2 to really do re-authoring in a big way but that will not change.
Clone dvd it's good only for disc that need author permision, buf for simple dvd's is better nero. And the best is isobooster becouse it can copy for an example a video dvd with erors or any dvd with erors.
This video is kickass. Iv'e been waiting a while for this. Plus your explanation is perfect and solid and to the point. I'm tired of coming to youtube and listening to a chinese guy who speaks tderrible english who says " Dee Wee Dee ".
Nice product demo BTW. And I love that desktop background. Thanks for making it available for download. But you put it in really hard to find place down at the bottom of the page in that tiny font. Also, I was really disappointed to see that hats and T-shirts are no longer available for purchase. I really wanted a hat and polo shirt, and I missed out.
Thank you for putting out such a wonderful product. Im a big supporter of Fair Use, and the general idea that if you pay for media, you should be able to use it how and when you want (within reason of course). Plus, I just like being able to make backups of my media for use right off a portable hard drive when Im traveling. I like keeping my originals safe and unscratched. And when it comes to the iPod or Zune, or even your cell phone, CloneDVD Mobile is fantastic.
Hi, i have anydvd and clone dvd, and i follow the instructions you give. but it still wont work, when i clcik on the clone dvd button it says that the clone dvd2 is not for use in copying protected DVD's Many DVD's are content scrambling sysstem (CSS) encoded, which is a copy-protection file system. if a DVD is CSS-encoded then the DVD reader will refuse to acces the disc. Therefore CLONe DVD2 cannot read the files and make a copy. what can i do? i hope you could help me. thanks.
so i think i understand. Anydvd just makes it so that clonedvd thinks theres no CSS protection on the DVD so it will copy it to a blank DVD? I'm going to try both progams out tommorow night and hopefully it works the way i'm imagining it.

Just flat copy/paste in Windows. No need for any processing at all. Label each directory folder you copy to with the name of the movie, for example.

Like for a magazine but with one exception.
The product will not stop working when that time runs out, but you will not be able to install any updates unless you renew.

CloneDVD should only be used if you want to fit a dual layer original onto a single layer blank.
Otherwise, it's not truly a copy. It's a reauthored disc.
To make a true copy, you need to use ImgBurn, and use dual layer blanks for dual layer originals.
ForcedToSignUp 2 years ago
Not true.
On the Title Configuration panel at the bottom you can select all different target sizes, including DL and custom, by the way.
FrankHollander 2 years ago

You have failed to understand the difference between reauthoring and 1:1 copying.
CloneDVD loses all original UDF metadata, including dates and disc identification, as well as *anything* not in VIDEO_TS (i.e., DVD-ROM content).
If you want as close as possible a copy of the original disc, you need to use a 1:1 copier such as ImgBurn or CloneCD.
The main use of CloneDVD is for shrinking a dual layer disc to single layer, or for removing content (previews, warnings, etc.).
ForcedToSignUp 2 years ago
