  • GREAT sound quality here! Excellent recording of this very nice hit by GL&PB. Thanks for uploading it with such clear, HQ audio. Nice job Vox.

  • @Querencias7 You're welcome! Wish I could take all the credit, but I think I was just extremely fortunate to have gotten a computer that has a great cd player with all the right compression settings, lol!

  • I think the piano intro was done on a Chordavox, and electric accordian.

  • @brnnnn1 Hey, thanks for posting that info here- I always thought that maybe there was something else doubling the piano part to create that unique opening.

  • Great sound on this. Well done. One of my favorite bands of the 60's - I wore out two Golden Greats albums.......

  • @wpollock1 Gary Lewis and The Playboys is one of those bands you can listen to and just forget whatever is going on in the news or whatever problems you may be facing- just a fun band to kick back with! I can hear why you'd wear out two of those albums!

  • @tomovox

Exactly. Whenever I hear Gary Lewis and The Playboys I instantly get thoughts of better times of optimism and positivity. Where has it all gone in this great nation. I'm afraid it's irretrievable.

  • @DerGlaetze I'm afraid you're right about that. We can get moments of fun and positivity, but that whole vibe of fun and great-prospects-over-the-horizon that seems to have been a big part of of the 60's seems to have fizzled out starting in the late 70's or so. Everyone seems so jaded and just a bit to "hip" to everything now. It's nice that at least the music has lasted all these years- that says a lot.

  • I love the music videos with collages! You did a nice job; this should definitely have more views than it does!

  • @Ayundi You just erased all traces of a bad weekend! Wow! I really appreciate your wonderful compliment and I'm so happy you like the video! I've stopped trying to figure out how some videos get so many views while others (like practically all of mine- lol!) remain in the bargain basement section, ha ha! Still, when someone like you says they like the music I love and they like the video I've done, well, that's worth more than a kazillion viewers! So thanks again, my friend!

  • great editing. are you a pro?

  • @joannahacon Wow! After a night of working 8 hours outdoors in the snow and cold, this was a nice surprise to see! I appreciate that very much. Not a pro, but I have fun putting in the work on these. It gives me a chance to do something fun! Thanks for the kind compliment!

  • well done my compatriot! oy, could gary be cuter?!

  • @joannahacon hey, very happy you enjoyed the show, lol! thanks for the super comment!

  • One of my all time favorites, what great memories this song brings back, thanks so much for posting....

  • @rainstormz28 You're more than welcome and thanks for posting a comment!

  • its nice to know theres still some sain people out there somwhere sometimes when i hear the new music i give up all hope

  • @archie977 don't give up yet my friend! in fact, its beacuse of you tube that i re-gained hope; I'm always amazed at how many people in thier 20's and even WAY under are commenting on music like this. I think it's great that they like music that's out today, but they get just as excited about classic rock and 60's pop/soul/Motown. I actually think that things like i pods and you tube and whatever else have made it so that people are MORE open-minded about accepting all sorts of music- YAY!

  • Thanks for sharing. One of my favorite songs.

  • @gft2055 You are very welcome!

  • Gary Lewis did make a name for himself back in the days! He never wanted to be known merely as "Jerry Lewis' son" Dad Jerry never commented much on his son's career, but I'm sure deep inside he was proud. Gary never wanted to ride on his dad's coat tails

  • Leon Russell, who was a well known singer and composer that crossed over to FM airplay when AM radio was at deaths door, was behind the scenes with this group, whether as a songwriter or producer. Gary Lewis and the Playboys had a string of hits. Even the Beatles had respect for them. Nope, they don't write songs like this anymore. What a shame. Glad I was born when I was born. So what if I'm an old fart of nearly sixty. I wouldn't trade those times for anything under the sun.

  • @pmoyer50 This is what I appreciate- having people providing this kind of background information and things that were happening in general when these songs were on the charts. Hey, when it comes to music, age isn't even a factor anymore- good music is good music and it stands the test of time. I only wish I could have experienced some of the fun of those times!

  • I heard what I thought was a cover of this song on an iPod commercial, but it turns out some douche bags stole the opening riff, is all. I guess they 'slightly modified' it, but still...

  • @JoeDeceiver I'm noticing more and more that a lot of these classic tunes are being used, (even if just bits and pieces of them) in commercials and such. I think it just says a lot about the quality of the music- still you wonder why no one can come up with music that has those full arrangements anymore...

  • @tomovox I guess most people these days don't want music with emotion and thought behind it, they just want something mindless that they can dance to.

  • @JoeDeceiver I think you're right. It wouldn't be a bad thing- I'm sometimes amazed to find myself getting into some of the music out today, it can be fun to dance to, but what kills everything is that there isn't much else to choose from. I appreciate that some bands are trying to bring more to the table but on the whole, I think its the dance club beats that are gaining the lion's share of the public's attention.

  • It's wonderful to hear this music again. The sequence and timing of the photos added to the entertainment value.

    Thank you!

  • Lyontell, thanks for the great comment! You tube really has been a treasure chest for music lovers; I think a lot of people are getting to either hear favorites or discover new ones. I'm very happy you like the video too! This group is a lot of fun to listen to and I hope it comes across how much I enjoy them!

    Thanks very much for commenting!
