While graphic recording and graphic facilitation are obviously 'visual' the work is more about 'process' and 'content' rather than just pretty pictures ... your work has to make rational/logical sense (not just look nice). Yes, it helps if you can draw, at least to some extent (especially for graphic recording). However, for facilitators, consultants, trainers, coaches, etc --- I can teach you how to draw even if you don't identify as an artist.

I run a training program on the skills of Interactive-Graphics (custom chart work, graphic recording, graphic facilitation and graphic coaching) twice a year - in person in Victoria, BC in May and online in the fall. How to work visually with groups and individuals.

Check out my shift-it-coach site for info (under the training tab).

  • U have great artistic abilities, but I have the same question: would this line of work suit someone who cannot draw anything more than sticks, circles, arrows, and hearts but are creative and a good critical thinker? :)

  • Wonderful!...

  • Would you recommend this line of work to someone who can't draw?

  • Great video! Hope to see more.
