@dtvfan24 No, it is not free. I am a frequent VA flyer, and the price for GoGo depends on the length of your flight. If you are on a short-haul flight (for example, from SFO to Las Vegas), then that is the cheapest rate which is roughly $5 for unlimited use. If you are on a long-haul flight (for example, SFO to JFK), then it is roughly $10 for unlimited use. GoGo internet is very fast and very reliable--I love it! If you are a VERY frequent flyer, you can purchase a monthly unlimited pass also.

elctronic devices like cell phones can mess with the plane's instruments. But i'm pretty sure that GoGo internet has some kind of special frequency that won't mess with those instruments.

Um... no. Cell phones don't affect any instruments. Cell phones affect the airlines pockets back when they were trying to push in-flight calling. They also don't work at altitude, and can potentially confuse cell networks by trying to connect to multiple towers at once. I've personally flown a plane and used my cell phone while flying it, the plane didn't plummet from the sky and the navigational aids onboard didn't spaz out.
