Not good to learn this way, will slow you down, once the knee goes down and you program that into your body it can be very hard to re wire the system. Especially if one ones to progress to short boards or take on bigger steeper faster waves - and who doesn't want to progress? Check out surf training secrets.
man, dont put your conspiracy shit in a SURF video, go look up a 9/11 video and have an "intellectual debate" over whether george bush planted bombs at the base of the structure.
We may be repeating the past . As the 60's hippies were starved out they gave surfn a bad name, people thought it non-progress. By the 70s they pushed Disco/HappyDays & hippies mostly vanished. Schools shunned it & talked trash bout surfn. Now we promote surfing, will the majority of them also vanish? That means less crowds & more waves for ourselves so it's not all negative. I think the lower 1/3 will move away, upper 1/3 will save up for travel vacation. That means 1/3 left, hellya 3X surf!!!!
This is so... wrong, it seriously shouldn't be taught this way ever! Even if they take an extra lesson or two to get up, it would benefit them MUCH more in the long run....
I've been surfing for a while now, and don't think I've ever seen people do this... it is a valid technique, but not like how they teaching, and only on longboards is it even remotely effective!
A lot of people don't have the strength to pop up properly when they first learn. At least with something like this, though smoother and faster - and perhaps without the leg in the air - you can actually get off your belly and keep your weight even. Though nothing beats a proper pop up.
lol as soon as u put all ur weight on one foot while getting up.. the sucker starts shaking all over the place then you end up barrel-rolling under the water for 10mins.. lol i should know im a noob :D
this surf school should be shut down, that is the absolute worst technique you could possibly teach, sure you'll have them standing up in one lesson, but if they continue popping like that it's really gonna stuff them up once they start going out into bigger steeper waves
