  • That red light is awesome!

  • what kind of guitar is Edge playing here?

  • @Coldacre gibson sonax

  • haha, you know your irish when you have a confederate flag on your back. Im sure larry didn't know very much about us history at that point

  • @MultiBert87 Ha. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that was fixated on that... besides the guitar tone and groove ;)

  • October is such a majestic record. My fave, actually. There's just so much emotion in it.

  • It is interesting to be able to track a band from their start. I have demos and other rare recordings from most of the bands I've been following for decades, including U2 and Bowie.

You can't really track bands today because they seem to come polished, sterile, and boring right out of the mainstream box. Not that I'd care to follow any of them. The last band I faithfully followed was the Pixies. Before that Joy Division.

Having been born in the 60's had its benefits. We cared about music.

  • wonderful line: "i can't change the world, but i can change the world in me"...

  • wow i loved that start. rejoooooice!

  • I love this haircut. October is my fave album along with Achtung and Zooropa.

    Cheers for this! XD

  • Bono had such terrible haircuts in the early days.

  • @Nominay gorgeously terrible, to me! lol

  • @Nominay the haircuts were good for the time. Why do you call them terrible?

  • @ToolsnFire I was around back then; they'd pass for a mainstream US haircut. U2 were this punkish alternative band and Bono's hair was disappointingly redneck.

  • October is actually one of my favorite albums, they sound so young.

  • if any one got more footage of somethinf else please get in touch

  • There's a Rockpalast (a German TV show) episode of U2 from November 1981 that features this song. They have a lot of episodes up at their website; don't know if this is one of them (I have it on VHS myself), but it's worth looking into.

    #@!

  • That was so cool. I have never heard that before!! How the hell did I miss it? What about the confederate flag on Larry? Kinda odd.

  • he must have been a fan of the dukes of hazard in those days... i sure was...hehe

  • I guess he had no idea what it means to people here in the US.

  • its funny that a lot of people back then thought they were awful and they develop into the biggest band in the world

  • You have a point; a lot of people just laughed at them; but a lot heard Boy and thought, wow

  • Wow! never ever have I seen this video!! thank you so much for posting!

  • Keep them coming

  • amen to this,,,Bono and the boys have kept this heart true since 1984...War is #1 to all of it..cbono69..rock on...
