0:09 Ummm....I guess nobody ever told those guys that are standing on the left and right that their helmets make them look like a giant phallic symbol.
Wow... I was very young when this was on but I distinctly remember this theme music and intro... especially Robin Williams standing on the goalpost. Something I would of never remembered had I not seen it again. Fun to get a little nostalgic, but spooky to realize how fast time goes by!
Yes it is! When i used to watch this back in the eighties i thought life was going to last forever! Now i know we're not here for very long at all really! Bit morbid but all true! :D
The showed sucked big time. And yes i watched it anyway, with only a half dozen channels didn't have much choice... Today i'm livin large, i've so many channels that i don't even know how many i have, but times haven't changed much, all the shows still suck. Thank christ for family guy...
You know what's strange. They could now do a prequel to Mork and Mindy. They could show Mork when he was young. Because remember Orkin's age in reverse. So Robin Williams today actually looks like young Mork. Weird huh?
Everyone was post 'star-wars' at this point and also gripped by sci-fi and anything 'space' related, even the theme tune to M&M paid homage to that, Mork gave every geeky socially uncomfortable man an excuse to act like a twat when attracting a female, it was a comedy love story, interstellar-inter-gender goodness.
@alpha18412 When it came to his dialogue, most of the scripts for Robin Williams were "Mork says...", because Robin Williams was the king of ad-lib, and was too funny!!!
when I was a kid, I cried often about how sad it was (MORK AND MINDY ,my uncle from Mars, it was called in Denmark) that he should be on thebeing on the earth's surface when he would rather be home on Mars. I probably misunderstand it allbut I loved the series,

@daniellezcookie96 me too im 15 (16 soon) and i fucking love the 50's and happy days is the best show thats ever been made i havent watchd mork and mindy but i have seen it on dvd in denmark which is suprising XD but im actully interested since its related to my favorite show so if you know any site where i can watch just 1 episode to decided whether or not i should buy it please tell me :)
@daniellezcookie96 nevermind i found an episode on youtube and i loved it apart from happy days and married..... with children this is one of the funniest sitcoms i have ever watched XD
@jestearns I agree. This show's opening credits are LOADED with NOSTALGIA, especially for my early, early childhood. The actual series was very middle brow entertaintment, certainly not deep TV, but harmelss fun.
I went to see this t.v. show filmed when I was a child, I never saw the episode that was filmed, but I clearly remember Robin Williams wearing a trash bag and standing on a ledge outside a window. Does anybody know which episode that was?
Back when TV show openings were memorable... they would always show signs of the city where the show was made, and show that city's landmarks. Love the Jeep CJ7, too.
Now we have 300+ cable channels of DOGSHIT. Unreal :(
@bran0234 This show started out as quite amusing, but by the time Jonathan Winters came along (as Mork and Mindy's adult baby, who knitted), well, it was a pretty bad programme...
This was fun family TV for me as a teen. That's the problem w/ TV shows now, there isn't any fun shows the whole family ca enjoy. It's either geared towards adults or kids, but not both.
Im not going to get really into politics just to say my family were dems n so was I. I rember asking my grandmother y we were democrats wen i was like 9 in she said its was becuase democrats were for the poor.
Only Robin Williams could've made this show work. I used to watch it as a kid, but I can't imagine it working with anyone else, not even someone like Jim Carrey.
That would be worth a fortune today if it was still sealed. I got two copies of the 50th anniversary Scrabble game. One is still sealed and will remain still sealed because the longer it remains still sealed the more valuable it will be. I bought those in 1998(the game itself is now 62 years old).
Thats a gold mine i`m still kicking myself for giving away my Happy Days game to good will even if i did`nt play it anymore i wish i`d kept it cause it was a gift from my dad a collector on tv showed 1 and made me wish i still had mine. We sold our MM game at our garage sale to a couple for 1.00 aahhh!!
I was 12 when this show premiered in 1978. The first season was the best and the funniest. I remember busting out laughing all the time. Robin Williams is a class act. I first saw him on the Happy Days episode, his character was about to kidnap Richie and take him back to Ork. There was one story when Mork was competing with the Fonz in the 50's.
@jack2breeze I remember the spin-off, it was aired sometime in the spring of 1978 on Happy Days. The other time, Mork was telling Mindy he was on earth before they met. Meeting the Fonz. This episode was on the M&M series, not Happy Days. This was a lot later into the show.
season 1 had the best intro and was the best season. this is the season that robin williams was himself at his finest. season 2 the producers tone him down no good.
