  • that is a brilliant Montage!i remember every single one of those!

  • There is a original Marathon bar up for auction on ebay.co.uk

    Ebay item# 230733326139

  • Spitting Image...they'd have lawsuit city now !!

  • Oh yeah! Tube crisps! :-D

  • chopper, grange hill , Connect 4, Betamax was 70's

one2one mobile (formally mercury now t-mobile) was formed in 1993

  • Great vid....now please build a time machine so we can go back to the 80's......

  • great took me right back to when i was a kid the 80s were great. not like this shit decade were in now

  • loving it!!!!

  • TUBES!!!

  • Nice!

  • Lol.... one 2 one never come out untill the mid 90s. you must be killed for this critical error.

  • DONTCHU WANT ME OOOOOOOOOO wish i was in the 80s

  • I, like you used to enjoy a nostalgic journey through the eighties......but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • The other day I saw Garbage Pail Kids candy, in Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and even Wal-mart, I think they're trying to make a comeback.

  • Funny how I see the ad for Soda Stream here, I remember seeing that when I was 4-5 "1989-1990", yet they show the ads for the current one, and act like it never existed.

  • You never see the Dungeon Master (Dungeons and Dragons) and Peter Stringfellow together do you? Just saying, you know, just saying

  • You 80's people were living in the dark ages technology wise lol

  • @johnaiton Erm... Coming from an 18 year old (me)

No, back then they wasn't... in fact they were pretty much ahead of their time.

  • @ultran33b Erm... Coming from a network engineer with 2 degrees in technology, they were definitely dark ages.

Those guys had to spend $10,000 + for a mechanical hard disk drive and the graphics output standard were utterly primitave.

  • @johnaiton back in the 80's this was cutting edge technology, comparable to how we see things like the iPhone of today......

its only when we compare today's technology with the technology from the 80's that we regard the 80's stuff as dark ages, but if you were around in the 80's you would know this to be ground-breaking technology ahead of its time ( at the time )

  • @johnaiton 2 degrees my arse...you spell like a retard.

  • @ultran33b Hold on, 18?

You weren't even fucking alive in the 80's and you're doubly unqualified to remark on the era.

Wasn't, try weren't as your grammar is equal to a childs.

  • @johnaiton Alright, no need to get emotional.

    Fuck me...

  • One2One top up cards are definately from the 90's

  • can i just add that at 1:32 it shows the network one 2 one and its pay as you go top up cards..... these were introduced around 1996. i know because i was one of the first to get a pay as you go phone, and was prior to that reliant on pagers as was the trend at that time until 1996 when pay as you first got introduced....... how this could be mistaken as an 80s thing is an epic fail !!!!

  • @dolphtrains2 actually mobile phones were around in the 1980s. It's just that they were just the preserve of the yuppie, were the size (and weight) of a brick and required a second mortgage to make a phone call with or to.

  • @AuntyAlexG erm....im not on about the invention of mobile phones. where on earth did you think that?......as already mentioned,im referring to one to one pay as you go mobile phone top up cards which came out around 1996/97

  • Fantastic vid! JFred- maybe the clue is in the title!! They are nostalgic to me!

  • lol that was cool

  • Fantasic! What was the name of that show with the baby in the crib that turned into a spaceship? And he had a robot that always tried to talk him out of things?

  • @imoveatparaderest fantastic max

  • Only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate... tastes like chocolate never tasted before!

  • Still got my ZX Spectrum... think it will be worth anything?!

  • @4crevis If it's in mint condition yeah, used even once though would be a different story, I would still throw it up on ebay and see what it gets. People pay through the nose for nostalgia :D

  • M-A-R-A-T-H-O-N... Marathon... always has been... always will be!

  • Lol Maggie Thatchers jacket looks like one from 'The Prisoner!'

  • Chopper was great: I had one called Spyder, could give friend a ride on the back.

  • @iamtheomega Pity you don`t still have it, you could flog it for a mint on ebay now.

  • Tubes!

  • the young ones is the best

  • I did work experience at dickens portrack lane in the 80s

  • The kids who listen, watched, ate, used, wore, and played with all this stuff are the now starting to get vote, and be voted into public offices........and you wonder why our country is messed up.

  • I remember Dickens! I used to love going when I was a kid! They had the pick and mix by the exit and a giant play area by the entrance! I used to love it! Now it's a B&Q and all the magic is lost. Used to go there for christmas decorations and fairy lights, and would come out with a big pick and mix and a refreshers bar! :)

  • Small Wonder at :45 Cute little Vickie. I loved that program. And Pac Man I played this all the time. When I saw that marathon bar. I thought it was a candy that we had, It was very long and was a caramel and chocolate bar that was a foot long. And garbage Pail Kids. I remember that crap, booger and vomit flavored candies, BLECK! There was Danger Mouse. And gay or not I loved Boy George!

  • pay as you go mobile cards? apart from that all good :)

  • i recently asked a child to show me his chopper....All the best,Paul Gadd

  • great memories

  • the majority of the upload is 70's not 80's but if its nostalgic enough for you then fine. i remember that bitch@ 0.42 ruining this country and putting it where it is today.

  • 31 people are 90s children!

  • I thought that wispa was just invented last year!

  • @spursfan112 It disappeared and was then brought back again.

  • @spursfan112 It disappeared and was then brought back again.

  • nice

  • fuckin hell, tubes, forgot all about them

  • @INFSI99

    Me too.

Can you remember those kinda tomato flavoured quaver like crisps they used to sell in the school tuck shop?

    In fact..there's a thing..school Tuck shops !

  • @SONGSTICKS

i remember School tuck shops, i use to get really excited when it was my turn to serve! and i think the crisps you are referring to are called Snaps made by Walkers

  • @littlemiss80ful

    Snaps huh... Thin curly numbers?

I could munch packets and packets of those !!

and those nice sherpet lollies !!

  • @SONGSTICKS sounds like snaps your on about

  • @INFSI99

I certainly had a taste for them.

Mind you.. I think I must have been the only kid who actually liked school dinners !

  • I understand the sentiment and I suppose for those who were kids in the 80's these will be nostalgic, however, there's a lot of stuff listed here that for those of us who were kids in the 70's can also remember, and as such, aren't really, '80's nostalgic memories.'

  • @JFredUK They where images that are memories from when I was young in the 80s, I am aware some of them are 70s images. Maybe I should change the title to 70s and 80s?

  • @Faeden - Nah...... Leave the title. I remember all of those things in the 80s as a kid and you have done an excellent job. I really miss that era and regional British tv. I wish I could time travel. I dont think i would ever leave the 80s.

  • @Faeden Yes eg Chopper bikes were very 70s, can't remember seeing one in the 80s. Many of those ads and kids programmes were 70s also. Good vid though, the memories!

  • @Chockyhoot Agree chopper bikes were very 70`s, the 80`s were more about BMX bikes.

  • @Faeden Man up, JFred

    Good vid though.

  • Over half these stills are from the 70's :S - just saying...lol

  • I was born in 1980. Being a kid in the 80's was memorable. Wish I could go back in time to relive it. Cheers for the upload.!

  • lol, Maggie Thatcher isn't something I'd want to remember if I were a child of the 80s. XD

  • @ 1:33 one 2 one top ups in the 80's?

  • Prepaid one2one digital mobile phone vouchers? In the 1980s? Nope.

Also that's a completely modern Ready Brek packet, the difference in design and print technology is really clear.

  • Is the Super Mario Bros. thing at 1:55 like a 80s PSP? That would be so cool. Wasn't old enough in the 80s to remember...

  • @helenmariposa

When I first saw the DS I half-wondered if Nintendo had a load of old plastic cases from the Game-and-Watch era lying around and decided to do something with them. Donkey Kong was a vertical dual screen so even more like a DS.

Do a search for dxN3hYOSYeI for a good clip.

  • Actually as a child of the 70s I can vouch that many of these date back further than the 80s. Having said that, still love this slice of nostalgia.

  • I want the 80's back

  • What was the name of the bike at 0.18 that made all the noises? I remember that I wanted one of these but got a track trail bike instead.

  • I love that the cast of Rainbow are in front of the adult section in HMV.

They probably weren't sure why they were angry either.

Never touched the things since it became Snickers. Fuck.

  • @karaloca I know what you mean. I refuse to buy Snickers. It's political correctness gone mad.

  • Tubes and Squares crisps? Button moon? How could I forget?

  • Robocop... need i say more?

  • This is a good trip down Memory Lane, but a lot of the imagery is definitely from the 70's.

  • thatcher?

  • Blimey! Does Rumbelows still exist?!!! I suppose it doesn't...thats the kind of thing thats scary about nostalgia and possibly just how much of a t.v and advert nation we have become. If I'm not thinking about I tend to think Rumbelows is stil around, and the same with Happy Eater because they occupy a place on the periphery of my early state of conciousness. Its only when the logical concious part kicks in that realise with a start that they are no longer around...scary...

  • Sweet 80s montage you have there!! I would say that the yellow smiley face at 0:58 connected me more with the early rave/hardcore scene from 1991, but everything else is spot on :-)

  • Who remembers Superman peanut butter? I think that came out in the 80's, if I'm correct.

  • @AFBoycie The Clown???

  • @Faeden no i meant 43 lol maggie thatcher

  • @AFBoycie you mean 43

  • 1:32 "The history of the prepaid mobile phone begins in the 1990s" - wikipedia

  • I don't know if eighties were that great (i am 31 so can remember) but telly was better especially kids telly and adverts were great, stuff certainly was more acceptable back then, that gay retarded welsh pob thing i just never got, something is wrong when kids of this generation are getting into stuff that my generation was into, c'mon get with the drift and be original!

  • @MrAaRdVaRkEr The 80s was great for kids and teens regarding the TV and the music and the nightlife like The Blitz club. I was an 80s kid.

  • Excellent, thank you!

  • Wow, mostly rubbish from the 80's, with the exception of the computer revolution which started in the 50's, and continues to this day. Great intro of a song, though.

  • Erm, chopper bikes and spacehoppers in the 80s ?! I don't think so mate!!!

  • @PhineasRumey I had both in the 80s. They were popular in the 80s, even if they were invented in the 70s.

  • @Faeden No they werent.

  • @Faeden the choppers here are mark 2s so they are 80's the mark1 was 70s .and I grew up in the 80s and loved my space hopper :)

  • @PhineasRumey I also had a chopper bike in the 80s

  • @PhineasRumey Also sodastream - 70's

  • and you what the funny thing is, When I was only 5 years old I was looking for these wonderful shows to come to an end in the near future and they did. I just wasnt fair and I wish they were back on. They are alot better than these shows we have today.
