What a singer songwriter & performer & a totally talented man? Not like the crap what we are tortured to watching & listen to these days? Bruce will always be the boss!!!
To all of you thinking Bruce is being literal when he says " hey little girl" he's not actually talking about a kid- that can also be a term of endearment- "daddy" is the woman's boyfriend/husband Bruce is talking about how he feels passion for this woman he can't have and he needs to be with her
@yummybear serious though. When we was young our parents was like thats some shitty music. Still music was made from the heart. Now and days. My parents are saying the music we grew up on sounds 10 times better than todays music which i find it so true.
I gotta say, I recently just got into this Bruce kick. I guess it's my age or something. When you're young you really don't understand what real music is. I think it's called maturation. I think this guy is one of the best musicians ever.
Have any of you paid attention to the real message of the song? "Is a fucking grown man sneaking into a house" and talking to a "little girl" . I don't only find this song lack of creativity but also sick because of it's content. Sick and people aprove it.
You'd have to be mentally tapped to believe this song is actually about 'a little girl', it's a term of endearment. If you can't figure that out, I'd suggest that it is difficult to take your opinions on 'creativity' seriously...
@jgraham01900 I always though it pretty much was about being horny, just more romantically put. Of course, though, the line about the "little girl" isn't meant to be taken literally...
I love this PV since I was 16 years old back in 1985. I believe all the time that white T-bird lady is the one came from the movie "American Graffiti". ???
You know, it upsets me that this song isn't included on his greatest hits CD which was released in early 1995. I am sure many Springsteen fans out there probably agree with me, right?
One of the most passionate songs I've ever heard and I've always thought it was way too f*cking short. I wish it was twice as long at least. And I had NO idea that this video was directed by John Sayles who happens to be one of my favorite directors. He's directed two of my all time favorite films, 'Lone Star' and 'Secret of Roan Inish'. Double bonus :)
@boatierra I didnt know that John Sayles directed this video either! He also directed one of my favorite movies of all times: "Limbo". I love "Lone Star" too. And the song is absolutely beautiful and passionate! It really has stood the test of time.
@boatierra I did a cover version that's 3 times longer than his. Search for 'The Scroll- I'm on Fire'. I think you might like it. This is my fav song of all time I think.
Here's what the mechanic was REALLY thinking: Lady: How's it going: Mechanic: Uhhhhhh, huh? Lady: You think you can have it ready for me tomorrow morning? Mechanic: Lady, it's ready for you RIGHT NOW, trust me! Lady: No - we live way out in the hills - I better come pick it up. Mechanic: Damn! Would it help if I said "please"?
This song will always tug and pull at my heart strings, reminding me of the beauty in one of my favorite mediums of art, music, not to leave out the world and it's own beauties. Sometimes you get so down it's hard to see the way toward the light. Music is an instant candle for me, but a long lasting one if accompanied by other help.
I cry every time I hear this track. So beautiful, so haunting. Life is truly measured on the amount of suffering we can endure, and it is in that sublime middle between pain and peace where we find the joy of the journey.
@dunecigar Where the hell did you come up with that? I don’t typically appreciate deep sappy thoughts like that, but what you wrote there was beautiful. I’ll try to remember that always. Thanks.
Ok, I saw this video when i was a teen, and im just now figuring this video out...he based it off of Alfred Hitchcock's story of a Hollywood actor and his daughter, who actually turns out to be the famous actor's longtime wife...i dont want to spoil the ending...I love Alfred's mind, & Steen's voice...Ivy100%BionicWoman~
