Youtube comments come from the most ignorant people. If Cantu had a hand like he was repping, these same people would call Marquis the biggest idiot ever.
In reality, it was great play by both players, who both correctly guessed the other's hand. Cantu put Marquis on a dry ace, and Marquis in turn had to have put Marquis on a stone bluff as that is all that Marquis could beat at this point.
@TheKawiD , but marquis knew that cantu knew it , so he call , and well we are front the pc the was playing a lot of hours and sometimes on the same table all the day , so they had a tells about the other people , so we cant say if that be a good or bad call , just that he take the risk of put all his chips on the middle to double up just that.
@PunaniLicker69 how do you know it was brilliant, what was the action preflop and what was the info marquis had about hem? and what cantu is trying to represent here?
An over bet with 77s when he was raised? Nope, not really. Anyways, fact that he went all in shows that he was bluffing. Its a terrible bet - he'd only get called if he was beat.
@coreycunninghamkarl He can't get called by anything worse really so he was definitely trying to induce a fold. He didn't think the guy had an Ace and was trying to represent it. The 77 have no value there.
I hardly say this is a bad bluff. Ideally you want to bluff against top pair which the guy had so it wasn't a bad bluff. Calling 4 million with just to pair is a great call.

I love you people that say Sick Call!!..What about an Idiot bet??He had to know the guy had the A...He called his check raise....I love it when a Bully gets busted trying to push people around then sits there and says, I can't believe you made that call....I can't believe you made that bet.....Idiot Internet players.....
1st there is no trap. 2nd, this is strange line for a bluff. this deep in the ME, many people play for pot control w/ 1 pair hands so cantu is rarely checking two streets with a set in this spot to induce. he is never raising a10 on turn and won't shove a AK or 56 on the river. AJ = a set, so he rarely shows up AJ, 55, 66, or JJ. KdiQdi is possible, but he leads or calls most turns not to get blown off his hand w/ a 4bet jam. his range is polarized, and more bluffs make sense than big hands

Usualy people are good when they make it this far and can lay down just top pair. Cantu's image is what killed him. People think any top pair is good all the time. Which is why he's winning so many tournaments right now
@imahoe613 Umm..on the turn when Marquis made his pair of aces, he called with the best hand instead of raising. Essentially trapping Cantu who fell for it by bluffing on the river.
@fatsomamacheese Do u know another language ?Certainly not.I try to speak 6 languages.Do u?Of course not.Sometimes i make mistakes.I'm not english or american like u.Try to speak french like i speak english.Have a good day
@pietrogiudice So you're a douchebag in 6 languages, excellent. We could talk about high level math or physics if you want. But that's not impressive either. I'd love to play poker against you though lol.
Stupid bluff, and what would you say, if He would have a set and AQ would be lose? Or straight, or AK AJ, many and many posibilities. But you are right, that man seems so much like a bluffer, that he must call him, if he saw his shake, when told All in :o) Must be much more confident.
@DukeBalaor U r right but bluff is an art.Everybody is not called Phil Ivey or Tom Dwan.In my opinion,he should have bet at the flop and not to give a free card to his opponent. He bet at the turn and the other called. What does it mean? The opponent has something and certainly an ace. With that information i certainly wouldn't go all in.It's just my opinion.Maybe i'm wrong.
Nah I do OK when I play without bluffing much...if at all. I get pretty lucky but. I would say more people (not poker pros btw) lose doing stupid/obvious bluffs than people who very rarely bluff (and earn money purely on playing there hand to it's best, and simply folding average hands)
@esucil naw that was easy call with top pair even for all his chips. only worry about river straight (not likely) or pocket pair & 2 pair. but would he have made that move on the turn with two pair like J5? J6? No he didn't bet the flop or the turn initially.
idno i can see where you're coming from, but imo after u make the weak looking bet on the turn with aq to induce the check raise, you kinda have to just close your eyes and stick your chips in the middle on the river shove and pray you didnt run into anything... i just dont really see somebody using that particular line on this hand given the stack size of the guy with aq (im too lazy to go back and read his name)... but really, what the hell do i know? i will admit, i am not phil ivey
