There was an adventure game, Where at beginning you see few coloured clothing people gathering for a meeting, Then u start at the streets and u get teleported to sum castle hall... Any1 know what game it is? I cant remember its name
Good list of games, it's funny because you're list doesn't like indie games. I like how it fades out at the end. Also the timing was really cool at the beat.
Does Phoenix Wright really count as an Adventure Game? I can see the Miles Edgeworth Investigations counting, but think the rest are less about exploration and more or less just navigating the dialog trees.
I'm a fan of the series as a whole myself, I just am not sure they qualify.
Of course, you missed some great adventure games in this video (Lost Files Of Sherlock Holmes, The Longest Journey 1, etc.) but then again the video would have been 2 hours or something if you'd included all of them! :D
@SonataFanatica Lol, The Longest Journey 1 is in the video... he actually missed Syberia 2 and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... I concord about him missing Sherlock Holmes though :)
You list the Sam and Max Seasons with Telltale Games... but the accompanying clip is from the cancelled LucasArts Freelance Police from two years before? Didn't you even watch that thing in full before including it?
More like "History of Sierra, LucasArts, Cyan and Presto adventures". No place for Legend Ent. adventures (Death Gate, Eric the Unready, Callahan's CS), The Last Express, Blade Runner, Little Big Adventure, Tex Murphy or Cryo games? That's hardly a history, I'm sorry. Though glad to see at least Simon the Sorcerer and Shadow of the Comet made it to this compilation.
am looking for my old game i never completed i remeber the cover was white and whit taro cards on it .. i guess is between 1994 - 1997 sum thing . help
Does anyone know a game which takes place in a modern-technologic world and where you play a female character, the engine is simlar to lngest journey but the story is more different? I think i've seen it but i'm not sure :( can anyone help me out?
nonono it was different I have played dreamfall, main character was female but it was taking place in future like minority raport , she was some sort of detective or something there were robots talking and cars flying, an adventure type...
Is this a personal history of adventure games you've played? Cause if it's not a personal list there's a lot missing. King's Quest VI, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Lure of the Temptress, just to name a few.
i want a old game that was point and click.. only had the demo. it starts off being on top of a high rise apartment block with a carpark on top (set in future where cars float) you have to get into a apartment by breaking in and recovering some object. please help! i am describing this all from memory, so maybe a lil bit hazey. it was around 99/2000
erm no, a lil bit more modern than then sorry. i remember that the elevators talked. i want this game so bad, but my childhood memories arnt that great
That was a nice compilation, albeit too short for each game...
I remember a point and click adventure game that my brother played when I was 5. It was like the Star Trek games. You play as a guy going into a space station, and the station had facilities such as a badminton court, etc. Then there was a yellow killer alien loose and it can bite people in half. And there was a scene where you used the badminton net to trap the alien coming through the door.
I remember it had voice acting too. And the main character seemed to be bald but had facial hair. I remember one scene where he led two of the surviving crew members to escape the space station...
Looking back now, it's amazing to see how Sierra really defined and dominated the graphic adventure game genre for so long. Their basic format is still used twenty years later.
Aww, I remeberd when I played "Beneath a steel sky". Good times and good games indeed. Not to mention "Riven" which literally stole my whole childhood XD And good choise to include "Phoenix Wright" in the end too. Good list :)
i'll be honest- i dont think ive ever seen those games before. the 1 with the detective dog and the bunny sidekick looks very cool. id like to know the name of that game so i can play it. there was a game that had powers similar to dragonball z but it wasnt dbz that wasnt in this video that forgot the name of.
I really wouldn't know what to call it coz I never had it but from what i heard of it, LSL was like a humorous social/date simulator...something that would kind of been a pioneer to it's own genre! I suppose if it has enemies that actively combats larry it could well have been an adventure game. how could you describe the gameplay?...anyone?..anyone in their late 20s 30s?..LOL
Adventure games do not have combat. You might be thinking of role-playing games. I know "adventure" could mean anything, but there is specific meaning in gaming history.
Nice tribute to by far my favorite game genre. I have only played a somewhat low number of these, but I also tend to play lesser known adventure games excluding Myst.
