JKD does not include Gung Fu or Wing Chun. Jun Fan JKD contains Gung Fu, Wing Chun, Savate, Muay Tai, Burmese Boxing. Bruce Lee's Birth name was Lee Ju Fan, so JFJKD is Bruce Lee's art and nobody else's art. JKD can be taught but can't be standardized. "Take what is useful and disgard what is useless to YOU". So to say that JKD includes particular martial arts like Gung Fu is incorrect, because it is not a set style.

Excuse me but Ted Wong has stated that Lee left behind Wing Chun from Jeet Kune Do by 1970 or so and used fencing and boxing as the main technical elements in JKD. Lee felt WC was very limited and used the straight jab very differently than the jik chun choy of WC. He used it as a blade/foil as in Epee fencing methods. Ip Man had a big school with many disciples and he would used the trickle down system of teaching. He would only work out with the seniors (Si-hing) and in turn the class seniors would teach the juniors (Si-tai). Wong Sheng Leung was si-hing to both Bruce Lee and William Cheung. The reason you may thin that the vids you've seen look that way is because he is much older now for one...but also many of the clips here were from an instructional video/DVD series which he did years ago but which he was on a plane from Australia..totally jetlagged and had appointements each day all over the USA...on opposing coasts and so on. As soon as he arrived at the airport he went right to city to make the vids and with no rest made back to back about 15 videos. he was exhausted.

My sifu asked an ex professional Muay Thai and MMA instructor to teach us some of his skills. He did not look very skillful, but you could see he was in pain every time he tried to duck, kick, puch or knee. Wolf's statement is correct, all of Yip's students learnt modified (what he learnt from Chan Wah SHun) and THAT is why Leung Bik beat Yip man when they fought, because Yip was fighting modified (Leung Tings type) and Leung was fighting Authentic (William's type).
