If you really evaluate Calzaghe's carrer, its been pretty mediocre. Name his top five wins. Out of that list everyone is pretty mediocre. 3 ancient fighters. Hopkins(was robbed), Eubank, and Roy. Im not saying these are mediocre fighters but rather the point that they were in during their carreer. Add an untested, unproven Lacy and all of the sudden Calzaghe's resume looks pretty damn mediocre.

If you really evaluate Calzaghe's carrer, its been pretty mediocre. Name his top five wins. Out of that list everyone is pretty mediocre. 3 ancient fighters. Hopkins(was robbed), Eubank, and Roy. Im not saying these are mediocre fighters but rather the point that they were in during their carreer. Add an untested, unproven Lacy and all of the sudden Calzaghe's resume looks pretty damn mediocre.

Slappy was just that. He took fights he knew he would win. He was NEVER in a fight where the odds were 50/50 or close to it. He went into fight people knew he would win. Never was in a fight where where that was every bit a competitive as say, barrera/morales trilogy, pacman/marquez among others. By taking on hopkins and jones as his final fights shows how much he was avoiding fighting them when they were in their primes. Slappy can never mix his name among the sports elite fighters.

Hopkins should have been more of a badass against Calzaghe, like he was against Tarver and Pavlik. He didn't have that killer look in his eyes at the weigh-in. That "I WILL KILL YOU" look.
