  • Hand over the bike!

  • Its a lovely bike whichever way you look at it. I saw the 250cc 6 quite a few times in the hands of Ralph Bryans and Mike Hailwood and whilst this bike is not in the same league it is still a really nice job.

  • Yeah, the sound was all wrong, and the revs much too low! I talked to an older guy once a long time ago who used to follow GP races live back in the 60's, and he said the Honda 250 6's and 125 5's sounded like "Air raid sirens" when they were warming up.! Funny expression he used, and I remember trying to imagine what it was like live. : )

  • Love to hear this bike in anger ! ! !

  • Honda should make replica RC166s in the future for collectors or for daily riding.

Shut up and take my money.jpeg

  • Of course it's the real thing, it may not have been the Honda 6 you expected but it is a six cylinder Honda engine.

  • On pourrait faire une réplique avec un moteur de M3 en transversal? 8D

  • This IS a CBX 1000 six cylinder ! Which IS the REAL thing ! Nowhere does it say they are trying to "pass it off" as a 250 6 !! CBX 1000 was made by Honda from1979 thru the early 80s ...just because some of you dont know your bikes doesnt mean its "fake" ...how stupid can you get ? !

  • Just LOOK at the tyres!!!

  • @flankerjr what's wrong with the tire?

  • This video was a cumfest for me !!Thanks I needed that.....

  • Looks like a CBX made up to look like the old GP racers. The giveaway is that the old RC series were so high strung that they wouldn't/couldn't idle. That's why you always hear them rapping the throttle to keep them from stalling. ;)

  • Yes, it is a CBX, but that's not actually true about the old RC sixes. You had to keep the revs high because they were splash lubricated and low revs meant no lubrication. Warm up procedure was to rev it between 10 and 12K rpm.

I worked for Honda and was instructed in the start up procedure by the Japanese engineers looking after the bike and had to practice it in order that I would be able to start it ready for Mike Hailwood to ride a few

demonstration laps at a Brands Hatch Honda Festival.

  • is this the 6 cylinder 250cc?

  • @goerge4

it looks like Honda's CBX 1000 engine.. it is to big for 250...

  • This may very well be a Honda "6", but a deaf man can hear that its not the "real "thing.

  • this seems a CBX1000 engine to me. I wonder where you find a fearing wide enough to fit around the engine, its something I would like to build to.

  • Sounds like a 4 poke

  • Is this a CBX based replica/special? Sounds too deep and is physically too wide to be a 60's Honda 6 GP bike.
