Thank you! Our producer, Andy, stopped by the other day and we discussed this. Both of us have our hands full right now, (we have moved the shop to 3600 Lexington ave N., suite 104, Shoreview MN 55126) so it may be some time. We do plan to finish this series on cigars and then probably pipes again. I do want to include a visit to a smokeeasy. I'm working on that one.
Ok here's a random question... Is it bad to just hold a cigar in you mouth without lighting it? You see in some movies the actor will just hold the cigar in his mouth and so I started to wounded If it was because they didn't wanna actually smoke them. If so how bad is it for you? Thanks
People do this all of the time. A late race car champion Dick "Dandy Dick" Landy was known for this, it became his trademark. I knew Dick and never knew him to light it, he just liked to hold it there. For actors, it adds to the character. For the rest of us, well we just do it. Just please don't drool. (I'm serious!)
In the 19th century, published cigar manners prohibited walking around with a lit cigar clamped in your mouth. And remember, always in moderation.
We are in the process of moving the shop, so it may be a while. I like making these but it does involve a lot of work. And time. Right now, everything must be put into the moving effort. We do have a working outline for the conclusion, so depending on moving demands, we may be able to finish it.
Positively delightful! Very imformative as well. Makes me want to find a fine tobacconist such as yourself. Living in Virginia, this may not be terribly difficult.
hey i go 2 this cigar shop 2 buy my smokes david is a very good man 2 talk 2 bout tabacco life politics etc dave its brian just saying but i recommend this shop 2 anyone because they will treat u with respect dignity and will treat u like a real person n e questions u have they will respond 2 as well
There must be hundreds of cigar shops in MN but I have to say that going to Dave's place really gives you the feeling of being in some old time cigar shop where all the smokers sit around and share cigars and stories. New guys always feel welcome there and that is why I have kept returning year after year. I am glad he and his shop is near me.
PS Oh yeah, and the cigars are always good too. For me, its more of a social thing tho & almost a requirement to any good political debate or story.
The best part of buying any cigar from this store is Dave himself! What a bottomless pit of interesting facts he can recollect. He should have been a professor - of just about anything he chooses so maybe his brother should put down the scalpel and pick up a cigar and live a little!
These have got to be the best videos i've seen online. So informative, very entertaining, excellent (if simple) filming, and potentially the classiest man alive. Fantastic.
PART 2??? please?
