  • WE NEED TO CHANGE THIS WORLD BEFORE IT ENDS. ENDING THE MONETARY SYSTEM IS THE ONLY WAY.

  • this kind of society is possible through sheer science and technology. but it would only be economicly possible by some kind of all powerfull socialist communist government. even though a democracy is the best, its not as efficient as communism.

  • Grotesque!! We can't even wake up to what 911/WTC was!! We can't see shit the way it Really is. So,how are we NOT going to keep repeating the past?? And making everything circular PLASTIC is bullshit. And the putz says "individual homes" Which is pure bullshit. And this Musak Voiced Librium inebriated commentator can go fuck himself with a Federally approved suppository..."A continuous Extrusion" Indeed. Where is the "Harmony" this toad refers to?? And the world sits on a computer? Go to hell.

  • :007 Ground windmill? Or maybe some kind of disc like helicopter. That looks interesting. Where can I get books about this?

  • @Juefawn you cant ! its pie in the sky !

  • :007 Ground windmill? Or maybe some kind of disc like helicopter. That looks interesting.

  • great job

  • @interpol007 It's already in the process of "happening".

  • @MEPHITIST Cool, can I keep your shit when your gone?

  • @interpol007 What are you talking about?

  • this is atm the ideal but more research must be done and less apathy and skepticism needs to be shown

  • What we need is a culture of the future, not one of the past. According some scientist, in a billion years the Sun will hot up and boil off the oceans, and burn this planet to a crisp. And that's before the Sun burns out 4 billion years later. So the human race will have to come together, advance our technology so we can travel to other galaxies in the Universe to seek a new home.

  • well our 'civilisation' has been going about 12,000 years!

A Thousand years is a long time & a million is a thousand times longer than that.. a Billion?? We've got time I think.

But we ain't got ANY time if we do it wrong NOW & destroy our planet for a few generations' selfish desires for sporty boats & submarine cities. Could we give 7 Billion people this 'Tech-topia'? I doubt it, as it would deplete the Earth's resources too much getting there.

Besides some people don't WANT all that 'stuff'.

  • No, we don't have as much time as you think. Except for Andromeda, all other galaxies are moving away from our galaxy very rapidly. By the time we come up with the technology to travel, even close to light speed, it will take many millions of years to get to even one of those galaxies. There is no shortage of resouces. The selfish elite are creating scarcity to maximize profits. In a high tech world resouces will be used more efficiently. The ZM is the way.

  • Its one way not THE (only) way & like everyone else on this planet you have your rights & you can have your 'Belief System' if you really want it. But please remember its only an extension of your ego.

The problems always seem to arise on this planet when one group decide they know best & start to IMPOSE their views on the rest of us.

"A" culture of the future? Why just ONE?

Nature goes for extreme diversity in order to maximise survivability. We should learn from the expert. It got us this far.

  • I completly agree that no one should force ideals to another, but I still don't get why are you making this assumptions that this will force something into people when its not the case at all. If people don't want to live in this kind of system they can leave and go back to an monetary system if they so pleased.

  • money only represents available resources & the 'value' you can 'attach' or manufacture into those resources

The way we're going a minority will grab all resources until there's nothing left & they've polluted all H2O & the symbiotic life of the planet dies (at which point the planet would become uninhabitable & humans would die too).

I 'assume' it will force ideals on people because I know for a fact that native people rainforest dwellers & aboriginals don't WANT our destructo-tech-lifestyles!

  • If you don't agree with the ZM, go to another Channel. No one is forcing you to be here. But you are not going to stop us. So go somewhere else and inflat your EGO.

  • Are you claiming that an society powered by clean energy, which uses mass transportation systems and rotative vehicles instead of one private vehicle for each person will be more agressive to the environment than this profit based corporate system which is over using the same resources without any analysis what so ever? Are you aware of the implications of using the scientific method and why it is extremely essencial if we want to live sustainably? Technology isn't evil btw, its just a tool.

  • No not claiming anything!

I've been an Ecologist for 30+ years & I know too well the problems we face!

I'm just saying this model can only be acheived by stealing the 'resources' from tribal peoples' lands & using them for a 'minority'.

Its all very well having 'vision' (& hope) but start SMALL to prove the 'theory'. Look at the planet's available resources coupled with population growth etc. We need to stop what we're doing & START doing it 'sustainably' in a non-polluting non-consuming way.

  • "I'm just saying this model can only be acheived by stealing the 'resources' from tribal peoples' lands & using them for a 'minority'."

A resource based economy is the intelligent management of ALL the earths resources to benefit ALL humanity.

Your talking about "elitists" If we were to step into this possible future of The Venus Project there would be no such thing as elitism, NO politicians, judges, police or governments.

No one makes decisions, decisions are arrived at based on logic.

  • instead of becoming more dependent on existing resources, we can invest into research and create new composite materials that require far less resources. we have a problem...we can grow paper, wood, and create oil by speeding up the rotting of wood. but we cannot regrow metal. we need to make ourselves require less metal by RnD like the new skyscraper in NY that needs 1/2 the steel for the size. summary...more RnD so we don't need to fight wars for the resources

  • I agree but war is not just for resources, power and control, its mainly for the arms industries making alot of money. When wars are fought billionaires are made.

Search Lockheed Martin on Wikipedia and have a look at their revenue, its disgusting how much money they make for creating killing machines. Whereas soldiers get paid very little to go and die for something they know nothing about,

Anything is better than a monetary system right now.

  • so you think a soldier should get paid more than the company that provides rifles for all the soldiers?

i know abouit LHM but i don't believe that they create all the wars. sure, nurses should get paid more than singers but you cannot compare a company that produces multi million dollar jets to individuals

  • No thats not how I meant it at all, I'm not concerned about the wages. It was just an example to point out the social stratification in our current system.

Jacque Fresco said this great thing about war, it went something like this. "When they draft you for the army, you put your life up for this country they should draft all the war industries so no one makes a buck out of war then its real. When you sell weapons and become a multi - millionaire then war is slanted."

  • OK i now understand what you mean. nationalize the defence industry so people don't make profit out of war. i kinda agree but then again, there would not be as much innovation in that sector if it was nationalized. and what about the guys making small money by selling not guns but car stoppers like the X-net? they wouldn't have created this defence/police device if they were not allowed to by law. so there needs to be a line drawn and it's not easy to find where that line needs to be drawn

  • I see what your saying, but who wants innovations in the war/police sectors at all? Its only the international bankers, weapon manufacturers and of course soldiers and police that benefit from those innovations.

It doesn't help you personally at all. I don't like what i'm about to say but all the government, police and all the national and international institutions are not working for your interests but rather for the interests of the banking cartels and corporations, broadly speaking.

  • i would not agree with paragraph 2 as an absoloute rule. it has happened and it will happen, but prime ministers do not go to bed thinking "how can i help the banks", they think "how can i help the country". alex jones isn't always right btw lol.

the INNOVATIONS in war do help us alot. it is ironic but all the disaster relief advancements come from war...the helicopter and the jet etc.

unfortunately, progress comes from necessity and war brings necessity. that doesnt mean i want war lol.

  • and yes I'm perfectly aware of the scientific method thanks.

    ;-)

Europeans at least drive cars with smaller engines so its ironic that an American 'dream' of a Jetson society is still considered some sort of 'Utopia' when in fact so-far this path has lead to more destruction than any system before it.

With all our technology & stuff are we Happier?

We would do well to look at what makes people truely happy & content in life, rather than constantly looking for more 'stuff' to stuff our egos with.

  • "We would do well to look at what makes people truely happy & content in life, rather than constantly looking for more 'stuff' to stuff our egos with."

Funny thing thats exacly what the Venus Projects its all about :)

  • IMO not exactly.

and not if they think the 'only' way to acheive that is with high-technology which doesn't actually exist yet.

Its a bit like hanging onto coal-technology because you 'believe' one day someone might invent 'clean coal'.

We'd do better to focus on low-tech solutions that are sustainable & non-polluting IMO & any 'high-tech' solutions would only be a temp 'trade-off' where the alternative would be worse.

IMO it will take several STEPS

But first step is to STOP the destruction!

  • We need to start organizing to take action-on any level. We can start simple and work our way up. We need to stop talking and start doing.

  • I think you are wrong when you associate technology with pollution and destruction, if you look it up you will see that what this project its suggesting its nothing more than using the potential of technology in a way to manage resources knowing the impact it may have on the environment. You are underestimating the benefit of using this technologycal mechanisms. Technology its not the problem but the motivations behind the people who uses it may be.

  • I agree with you when you say that we must focus in what we have now to change things for the better and it haves to be made in steps but "high-tech" "low-tech" are just meaningless lables for this case, the point is that we have right now the necessary technology to create an self-sustainble cibernated society, this is not about jumping up to a sea city or futuristic looking vehicles but to have in mind that technology itself its in constant development and so should be society.

  • Well in that case you should have labelled it "Designing for Today"!

I've been an alternative energy advocate all my life! I know there are technological solutions. But the fact is those controling society do everything backwards & we all do stuff for selfish reasons! That is what leads to the mess we've created (which will only be made worse by that big boat parked on the floating community; or trips to space for 'fun')

Having a future is what we need to secure first!

    & That ain't a certainty!

  • I just want to say that our language all over the world is so old and subject to interpretation. However the languages of engineering, science and mathematics is not.

What I mean by that is for example if I create a blueprint for a building and send it to an engineer or architect in China he will design and build that building based on those specifications. He will NOT interpret it in his own way, the building won't stand for very long.

So people won't have useless opinions anymore.

  • Its really important to have a vision.. that's for sure.

What we don't need is 'uniformity of culture'.

Whilst all this might look like techno-heaven to some.. to other cultures, this might be their idea of techno-hell.

    Where is the 'diverstity'?

An agro farming belt producing GM crops might not be MY idea of 'food'!

An ocean city could pollute the sea more than we do today if its done before we have the technology to do it right!

We could STOP doing it wrong first. That would be a real start!

  • Diversity of culture would still exist and different cultures would have much more interaction with each others than ever. The way we are heading now certainly isn't going to protect any diversity but amply this global culture of materialism hype and corporate control we have in countries like USA.

  • well maybe all that needs to change is the corporate controlling countries like the USA then?

I don't see how 'diversity of culture' could still exist when what you're describing is a 'hi-tech global culture; which would by necessity be 'uniform' at its core & by controlling ALL resources on the planet would not allow for 'diversity'. Ask Aboriginal & Native peoples what they feel about 'Westerners' raping their lands & rainforests. Then maybe find a 'balance'.. but this elitist utopia ain't it.

  • Good point!! Something to think about.

  • Thanks.

Like I said, it sure is important to have a vision.

    ;-)

But first we need to look within & allow for a change of our psychology or it simply can't manifest outwardly in the world. When enough people 'care' we might HAVE a future, but I doubt if it will look like this. This looks even MORE detached from nature's cycles than we are today, when we in the West need to regain the wisdom & 'culture' we lost when we went down this technological road to Utopia.

There's more to life & Utopia IMHO

  • Hi-tech global culture? Elitist utopia? I don' t understand why are you trowing those labels. What using technology efficiently haves to do with culture? How does it hurt diversity of culture? Why are you calling it elitist if resources would be managed intelligently to benefit everyone instead to benefit someones greedy convenience.

  • ok I labelled it a high tech global culture because that's what this shows & "Elitist Utopia" because clearly the only ones who will 'get' these amazing high-tech lives will be elites (I doubt if any of it will be available on the average dumbed-down strip miner or fusion power station worker's 'managed income')

This is just more of what we do now.. with a slightly better 'vision' 8-)

& no suggestion of how to get there from where we ARE now? All things happen in stages.. whats the NEXT step?

  • Diversity is primative. Look forward. Human beings always need to feel different from each other. It's time to move on. Your DNA can be traced back to Africa 182,000 years ago. Now it's time to start something new. Culture will soon be a thing of the past.

Think about humans traveling space independently. And having the abundance of good quality life. Who cares about HOW DIFFERENT YOU ARE!!! LOL... Good job. This race is so primative to what we can accomplish. It's sad.. Like a waste of talent.

  • LOL!!

If some people hadn't been 'different' then we would never have 'advanced' at all!

I do look forward & I see that we need to STOP doing it wrong FIRST. Thats the first step! Then we can try to figure out how to do it right. Until then this is jst more of the same IMO

If we continue down this road we will destroy the planet's ability to support life at all (the symbiotic ecosystems that keep us all ALIVE are a delicate finely balanced watch that we're smashing with a sledgehammer right now)

  • Please before you go and make these subjective statements go to The Venus Project website and look at the FAQ. This video alone doesn't encompass all the ideas of The Venus Project.

Jacque Fresco never said this is how the future should be but what it can be. It was never advocated as being a "Utopia" because that would imply perfection, (theres no perfect TV for example) its emergent in constant state of change.

  • I also want to address what you said about one's idea of something vs another's idea of something, "An agro farming belt producing GM crops might not be MY idea of 'food'!"

If you have arrived at the conclusion that you have created an extremley energy and environmentally efficient means of transport then logic would dictate that should be the means of transport from then on. NOT someones opinion.

  • This is amazing. Jacque Fresco is a genius. The biggest problem is that people think this is too good to be possible.

  • @ztawiz If you would take let's say a medievil person to take a look at todays world, that person surely would say the same as you did; "too good to be true", while in fact it is not. But overall it will be the best we could ever achieve. Dispite all the possibilities the one thing we need is for all people to think the same way as it comes to survival and sustainability. well, maybe not all, but around a half a billion will do the job, trust me.

  • @meesterJos I wasnt being sarcastic. I belive that The Venus project could work, but most people today doesnt. That was my point.

  • @ztawiz no hes not , most of his city stuff is from 1929 read the book the city of tomorrow and its planning.

  • @astrialkil where can i find it?

  • @QuadraKhans Amazon dot com the citys are still square in the book , but the sky scrapers look modern.
