Hey bud, I happen to have a MacBook pro-2,2 2.16 ghz, 15" circa 2006. It's running 10.4.11(tiger) now. I purchased the snow leopard disk, and in process of adding to my RAM( from 1 to 2 gb). Following your excellent tutorial, will I be able to get the same outcome? I'll also back everything on my external, but will it be a prob to put everything back on?( aka iTunes, iCal, excel, word, etc)

Hey great video. I have a question. I installed a new HDD into my Mac and I did a clean Snow Leopard install. What is the best way to put the Time Machine backup I have, back to my fresh install?
ive have tried everything ive read and seen and the install does not happen. i keep getting an error message saying that files could not be copied and to restart... from the first time installing it till now the blue bar seems to stop on the word on before the cd stops spinnig and i get that message.. can you help with that??
hey i am wondering if this will work for version 10.6.4 or later and when i gott my dvds i only go application install dvd and mac osx install dvd can u please help me i have the macbook pro 13'' 2011
ok i tried several thing im booting from an external hard drive formatted for Mac use and it boots up Snow leopard on my Macbook Pro 2006 but i always get this error og installation crash i get past the language selection but then get a grey screen. PLEASE HELP!
what are the benefits of doing a clean install? i understand that your HDD will be "brand new" and that there's no junk in there to bog down the OS. but when you put back everything from your back up/time machine, wouldn't that just put all that "junk" back in there? that's the part that's confusing me.
so after doing this, how do i get my time machine backup onto the computer? i want to make sure to get all my music, docs, movies, etc...back on the computer. (i am actually switching from my computer to my brothers...clean install since he is done with it and mine is dead...glad i backed it up!)
@AppleGenius0921 I just ordered my Snow Leopard disc online. I'm a total newbie on Mac (Had PC for a long time) but i do know i'm running Tiger 10.4.11 wish me luck!
I'm a Windows 7 power user and have a clean powerful hackintosh and still know more than most of you Mac foolish fanboys... anyways.... some answers to maybe one of your questions who ever you can be....
All you need to do a fresh clean or update install is the $29 Snow Leopard "install disk".
You can do as many installs or upgrade you want on as many computers you like with the same disk.
If you do a fresh install & want to keep your programs, pic's, etc.. do a "time machine" backup.
When you finish re-installing SL and your on your desktop... upload your "Time Machine" backup that you made before the fresh clean install... Time Machine will warn you that the backup does not compair to your computer anymore but will let you reload all your apps and pic, music etc... exact that you won't get your custom settings which you will have to reconfigure if you had any. At least this will bring back all your programs without you having to re-install each & everyone of them again!...
hi i bought a new disk of snow leaopard 10.6 and i tried to make a clean install i erased all the disks and data. But when it comes to where to install i get some errors i can't choose my disk it says to repartion it again
I doesnt start the installation meny after i chosed mac os x install dvd... How can i solve this problem?! because when im installing via os x, it starts the installation and then after a while it reboots and then again nothing happens, i can just se a apple without a loading cirle, exactly like trying to from the disk. I use a mac os x snow leopard on the computer and im trying to reinstall with a orginial snow leoard disk bought yesterday
hey nice video i have a quick question i bought an imac that has no operating system, off of ebay and i was wondering when i buy the snow leopord cd will i just have to install it and skip the steps you did? btw the imac is a core 2 duo with 2 gigs of ram thanks.
i kinda did the stupidest mistake of my life, friend gave me torrented OS of lion, and directly update the os on my hardrive (HATED IT SO GLITCHY), not thinking of partitioning it before installing it. Will this work to re-format and reboot the leopard OS and not Lion on my HD (not external) but directly on my hardrive?
I did a osx upgrade to snow leopard and my Mitsubishi dye sub printer will not work now......it just stays paused and wont come out of pause. What comes up on the screen is this, usr/libexec/cups/backend/usb failed, any ideas anybody ?
dude can you help me i need to reinstall my mac os x snow leopard but the problem i forgot my admin pass so i am using a guest account account and every time i restart my macbook pro nd hold the op shin key it ask for a pass.
I'm worried that if after I do a clean install time machine will back up but since I won't have any of my applications and files, will it erase everything on my external hard drive?
@AppleGenius0921 which disk would that be ? Out of the two disk that they give you the #1. Mac os x install dvd or #2. macbook applications install DVD?
i got a question can i do this if i format my hdd and install it with snow leopard like format with nothing on it and then use snow leopard to reinstall mac?
Okay. I'm ready to do this, and I have backed everything up with Time Machine. After I complete the fresh install how do restore my data from the backup? Great video, and thanks.

@mackacarlsson i would recommend just back everything you REALLY need onto an external storage drive because if you do a time machine backup it still might slow it down when you load the time machine backup after installation.
