@RynarStudios Nice. Welcome to the "cool nerds" program. Good to see more Kemptvillians in the program. Come by Azreili Pavilion on April 6th to see some 4th year senior projects. I graduated last year but I'm gonna check them out anyway. Cheers.
Im really looking forward to it! Im definately going to check out the senior projects if i can. I want to see the touch screen table that they made. Are you from kemptville?
ergonomics definitely came into consideration when designing 360 controller but ps3 wanted to keep their trademark design controller. the triggers on ps3 are useless. 360 are much more like an actual trigger
yes but the ps3 trigers" l2,r2 arent jsut made for FPS games so over all there better than the 360's controler trigers that only feel good when playing a FPS however over all both are good personaly like the mouse/keyboard better than the both of them and rice render
I'm more familiar with Maya, so for me yes. Overall, not sure. Max is good for video game applications whereas Maya is more driven toward 3D animation.
Meh. You adapt. I use my cousin's PS3 sometimes, but I myself own a 360, so I prefer the 360 controller for obvious reasons. If I were to buy a PS3 right now, and never use my 360 again, I would adapt and prefer the PS3 controller. It's all a matter of perception.
propa can't find a tutorial for the life of me on the internet - but im tryin to model the console aswell - i modelled my whole room with no problem then it gets to a frigging xbox lmao. - gutted.
Needs moar additional polygons! Naw, I'm just kidding. Great model and render though. You should make the console to go with it as well, set it in a basic room, add lights and detailed shadows, and you got yourself a ticket to Microsoft Games lol ^.^
Haha ya. I'm no M$ fanboy though that's for sure. We just had to model a controller and meet the requirements of the assignment so there wasn't much to choose from otherwise I would've done the Nintendo Zapper or some cool throw-back item like that.
it's a black car paint texture. low reflectivity. Almost black base colour with greyed lighting. The reflection is from a slightly glowing plane sitting underneath the controller. hope that helps.
Great looking model! I'm also modeling one for project. Sheridan College 4ever! :)

I work with Cinema 4D though, but it's not much different.

How tough would you say Maya is to start off with? (For complete beginners that want to go into the 3DCG field) Also, does it come with some lessons?

fanboys invade everything it seems
how long did it take you to create the render?
greenbullet 2 years ago
Modeling took about a week I think. But I was just learning at the time.
Rendering was quick since there really wasn't much in the scene. Only a couple of days for the renders (and re-renders after mistakes, haha)

maya easier than max?

the ps3 controller is unoriginal they just took their old ps2 controller concept, and added six axis and removed rumble
bLitz72 2 years ago
that's because it was already perfect! except for the L2 and R2 buttons... those have always sucked

I agree. Was using a car paint type texture. Didn't know a lot about texturing at the time.
