I would not like to repeat the experience, waves burying the bow pulpit, solid water on the deck, spray over the spreaders 35 feet in the air. Don't exaggerat, it will get you into trouble or dead, Lake Erie is very shallow making the waves steep, and frequent.
The waves are not breaking that means they are two to three feet or less. I've raced sailboats on Erie for past 35 years and if you were in 10 foot waves you would not be filming them in a 27 ft sailboat. Biggest waves recorded on Lake Erie was 20 foot. Been caught in a northeaster with 14 to 16 footers in a 48 foot sailboat halfway up the lake and beating towards Buffalo.

I sail Lake Erie and I think 10 foot waves is a slight exaggeration, 5 foot would be more like it.
