This is a very good sanchin, especially for a 13 year-old. She'll have no problem when she gets to her black belt test. Other commenters have pointed out some minor problems, but her fundamentals are solid and perfecting sanchin is a lifelong process. I also think that fears of women doing Uechi are overblown. Of course you have to be careful when you punch somebody in the stomach, but this is something she worked up to, and good abs will protect internal organs.
Well a long time ago I would have said great . But today a lot different . The girl abby did well , a little to foward with your sanchin stance . Hands are a bit high . Balance was good . Your teacher should study and understand the body more there places we just dont hit females . And places on the body that hes hitting can cause alot of damage to her. And it has nothing to do with how hard its where . Well good luck Abby best of health . And there was never a blue belt in UechiRyu .
But I still think that this type of karate is not suitable for women,in my humble opinion I believe that women should take up more technical martial arts like Jiu Jitsu or Aikido
Anyways good luck with the rest of your belt tests
@leothephantom7 I have to respond to this comment, though it may already be said, Uechi-ryu is even MORE suited to women! Because of the focus on positioning vs physical strength, women are actually more skilled where stance is concerned.
As for the video, nice Sanchin, though my only critique would be, make sure your elbows are one fist distance from your ribs.
@roninalchemist This girl is really incredible but believe me most women would not endure this kind of beating in order to learn how to defend themselves. i was just suggesting that women interested in learning how to defend themselves should take up martial arts(eg. aikido and jiu jitsu) that depend more on technique and less on physical feats.
Sensei wanted to wear it, I knew they were filming ......

Probably sensai test her body strength by hitting several body parts. Better not to hit on body parts especially on abs again and again.
