  • fair use for parody motherfuckers!!!!

  • and that they will only lose a bunch of potential customers by flaunting their greediness like this!

  • Just google yacht rock episode 3. The first link should be a myspace video with the audio, watching it now.

  • Work of parody, fuckwads. Fuck Steely Dan and fuck Warner.

  • Comment removed

  • Blame Steely Dan and their infiite f**kitude for the lack of audio in this video.

  • this is so not smooth

  • Where can we get a copy with the in-tact audio track?

  • @ColonelKernel Found my own answer: Really Smooth Music [dot] com. Pages > About Yacht Rock > Episode list towards the bottom of the page.

  • this is so smooth

  • no sound

  • WMG can suck it. Yacht Rock rules!

  • WMG can suck it.

  • What morons! This video is partially responsible for the resurgence of the love of SMOOTH MUSIC!!!!

  • FUCKING UNCOPYRIGHT THIS SHIT, you ASSHATS!!!

  • No sound? Fuckballs.

  • WMG assfuckers!!!

  • Boycott WMG

  • Boycott Warner Music Group

  • WMG has stolen Hollywod Steve's voice.

    Counter-sue!

  • Warner Media Group should realize this is the best promotion this music can have

  • Nuh uh. Yacht Rock is parody. FAIR USE UNDER UNITED STATES COPYRIGHT

  • @manwalrus If the music in the episode were parodies, they would be protected. Copyrighted music used in a parody, not so much.

  • Darnit, how do I know what happens w/o the sound?

  • You can sync it up with the audio from the channel 101 site

  • WMG

    Wanker Music Group.

How's that for advertising and brand health mofo!

  • Get this fixed!

  • god damnit I wanna see this episode

  • If the suits blocking content like this had any brains they'd realize this is FREE ADVERTISEMENT for their music (read: music made by someone else they get residuals for).

  • @coreyyoung78 I read either Hall or Oates (who cares which) crediting this show with getting people interested in their music again, so your point is pretty solidly proven.

  • BOOOOOO..... They took the audio off!!! BOOOO WMG

  • copyright's are important and all, but society needs to pass some legislation that includes an exception for cases involving content this awesome.

in other words, what this guy said |

    V

  • Fuck WMG.

  • Nuts to WMG.

  • Can somebody explain how the excerpts from these songs doesn't fall under the parody clause of Fair Use in Copyright law?

  • They aren't violating any laws, it's just that Dicks who have lots o money get what they want...period.

  • @mynos Because the stories are all true

  • Who is the guy playing Kenny Loggins, anyways? He is brilliant.

  • hunter stair. one of the creators

  • Actually, the guy playing Harold Ramis looks more like Donal Fagen, IMO.

  • thats smooth.

  • The best part is at the 2:00 mark..."FUCK YOU, KOKO IS DEAD AS SHIT!"

  • The smoothness is overwhelming.

  • I love 1977,78,79,80 really music back then is so fucking smooth. It makes you think how the hell can something get that smooth really? Makes you want to light on a big fat doobie and watch the sun go down.

  • they could have done so much more if they had a chance.. the 80's?

  • I love this series, but it sadly ignored one of my favorite yacht rockers of all time...

    BOZ SCAGGS!!!!

  • Oh heck ya we needed something on "Lowdown"

  • "Dear Gawd, I hope it's smooth!" HAHAHAHAHA!

  • i rocked it out SO hard for caddyshack!

    LAWL

  • "Manuel I need more oil!" Hahahaha...

  • Why can't Donald Fagan talk?

  • only the smoothest can hear him.

  • So, since I'm pretty unsmooth, and I can understand MM, KL, etc., does that mean that Donald Fagan is by far the smoothest of them all?

  • No, Walter Becker is, because only he understands what Fagan is saying.

  • That was very funny. Very very funny especially at the end! O my God was that funny! Silly.

  • Spielberg, Scorsece, Night Shamalyan, Adams. Amazing.

  • When I first heard this song, I had a similar reaction to the one this actor had. This isn't the Loggins that I grew up listening to. Around the time I heard this song, Footloose had come out and by then, it seemed that Kenny Loggins was hellbent on proving he could "rock". It went over well with the publio, but it alienated me from his music for a while.

  • You're kidding, right? Like Christian Bale in American Psycho?

    Funny! (I think...?)

  • Wait How Steve Perry gonna tell Kenny to do his own thing then tell him to listen to what Michael McDonald tells him to do LMAOOOO?

  • "Shut it, Steely Dan."

I'm probably going to say that now for the rest of my life.

  • Kudos to Yacht Rock! I always liked Hall & Oates and Michael McDonald, and it's introducing me to some great tunes by Steely Dan and Kenny Loggins that I wasn't familiar with! Sweet!

  • what's the Michael MacDonald tune at 2:30? It's hot!

  • That's "How Do the Fool's Survive?" by the Doobies. Killer song.

  • Oh man, what IS that awesome Steely Dan tune at 00:50???

  • It's Time Out of Mind from the album Gaucho.

  • Thanks!

  • It is so god damn fantastic, that I don't even have the right words to use for my feelings.

  • Dude this yacht rock video show is awesome man. It's encouraging to find people who like that music and appreciate it. I grew up on this stuff man Doobie brothers, Steely Dan all those guys, That Donald Fagan was hilarious man. The Musical Score is awesome. Anyways keep it up man,.

  • Donald Fagan was hilarious :) And Time Out of Mind is a great SD song..

  • 2:01 is fuggin hilarious hands down on deadest of dogs

  • directing for this series is beyond most theater flicks. Reach the top JD!!!

  • 4:25 = the single best moment in the yacht rock series.

  • I wish the person doing special effects would fucking decide if this is supposed to look like film or video.

  • Jeez, dill. You didn't notice that Steve Perry brought in the video?

  • i like the song at the very beginning where the gopher is dancing :D

  • This show is officially too funny to watch at work.

  • "Keep the fire burrrrrrnin burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnn!!!!"

    "What the hell was THAT?!"

Classic yacht rocking. Loggins' impression of McDonald isn't half bad either. :P

  • I wonder if people really do introduce themselves as BLANK from Hollywood?

  • "HI, I'm Hollywood Steve. You've caught me taking a shit!"........LOL! PRICELESS, MAN!

  • I think "Dear God, I hope it's smooth" is going to become my personal mantra. Awesome episode. I love how they manage to cram every yacht rocker of the 70s into these. The funny thing about this one is that the guy who plays Harold Ramis is a dead ringer for Donald Fagen.

tvpirate, the song at 3:45 is "Kid Charlemagne" by Steely Dan.

  • Thanks!

  • What's the song that starts up at 3:43? I've heard it, but can't remember the full song...

  • that song is kid charlemagne by steely dan.

  • Cool thanks!

  • "Now, get the fuck off my veranda. Manuel! I need more oil!"

  • I think this is my favorite one... The Donald Fagen is brilliant.

"Dear God, I hope it's smooth!"

  • I like the original theme for Caddyshack.

  • Shakespeare - The song you speak of is How Do The Fools Survive? From the Minute by Minute album. The same album that has What a Fool Believes...so smooooooooth

  • u may not like this type of music, they r influential in a lot of musicians' lives, i mean how do u think these bands out today have a sound or any other artist they take 4rm the past!!!

  • this music may be shit, but it's SMOOTH... and there's nothing better than a smooth shit

  • Awesome. Nice to see that Kenny has reached the sixth stage of grieving!

By the way, does anyone know what the Michael McDonald song is (it comes in after Loggins runs out of Koko's posthumous birthday party)?

  • "How do the Fools Survive?", which is a Doobie Brothers song off of "Minute by Minute". It has a great guitar solo at the end, It's Skunk Baxter at his best imho.

  • Manuel, I need more....YACHT ROCK!!

  • This show is amazing beyond comprehension. The "Happy Posthumous Birthday Koko" image is the current background on my laptop.

  • I agree. Gotta love the Perry!

  • My infatuation with Steve Perry makes this one of my favorites. Well that and the "bad" version of the Caddyshack theme and the fact that Donald Fagen only speaks in mumbles.
