When I first opened this video, I was expecting a bunch of stupid scene kids doing a shitty cover of a great song, but you did a fantastic cover. Great Job!
Astonishingly accurate cover. The lead guitar especially nailed the solo, and the drumming is also dead-on. Mayvbe its just an accident, but it is also cool how no one's face is visible.
Great work, guys. Looking forward to Marquee Moon!
Fantastic - some of the lead bends were a bit wide, and a bass would be definitely fatten things up, but otherwise spot-on. Get some of your own material posted, I'd love to hear it.
Hey Versalisik, I know it's way late but thanks so much for an encouraging comment! You said you wanted to hear from us when we got some new material posted and here it finally is - check out Too Much to Dream Instrumental (Our own composition) and Too Much to Dream 5D (A Byrds cover). Thanks again and stay posted for some more clips
I expect this was recorded on a camcorder mic, so it's hardly surprising that the drums are the loudest element! I think it's great to hear young bands doing stuff like this, and they should be encouraged - not subjected to patronising remarks. Tom Verlaine himself used to get stick for his singing, didn't he? Fuck the haters indeed!
i thought it sounded quite good. the drums are a bit too loud and there's room for improvement in the vocals, but other than that i think you did it justice.
Put your fist on the top of your stomach right below your rib cage. That is called your diaphragm. Sing from there, not from your throat or through your nose. Plus the guitar needs to be on the forefront of this song, not the fing drums.
Well, at least the singing is better than Amps Do Furnish a Room.
Try writing your own solo instead of copying Verlaine's note for note.
