  • I think ill stick with roland.. Though i want to have both fantom G8, motif XS, and korg kronos in my keyboard stands.. So I will never regret for my money and time to compare them..bwahahahahahahaha

  • The prince of the workstations, the king is Oasys

  • acustic keyboard? lawl

  • You'd need a college course just to learn how to use this! It blows my mind!

  • does it have ACMP like yamaha keyboards??????????

  • im trying to decide between buying this and korgs kronos, they are both the exact same price, i need advice, im confused!

  • Can you track out the instruments and put them in protools and mix them and can use the fantom g as a plugin or vst in FL studio or Protools

  • No regrets, I love my g8. The feel is the best I've ever played. But, Motif Piano sounds are the best. The g8 Piano sounds are good as well but I'am waiting on a New Grand Piano arx card to appear to bring the game to an end. Come on With it Roland!!!

  • im staying with the Roland family, this is my next workstation here.

  • I must say. Wau! Maybe I buy this to my first car. ;)

  • i just traded in motif es 8 for g6 good trade.very happy

  • those kits really sounds cheap... i would rather use Fl studio or Logic's Ultrabeat

  • this has to cost some serious bank

  • Don't be tricked by these people and the demos. Obviously it's up to you what you want, but when comparing the big 3s, it's sort of like that. Korg is good at synths with amazingly in depth synthesis that Roland can not match. Add that to the radias expansion board and you've already beat them. M3 expanded also adds very much. Roland has very limited synthesis. Worst of the three by far. It looks cool which is why a lot of people buy it but it's not really comparible. The motif is the best for

  • @SuperNaviator Roland has already exceeded other synths and workstations with their Super NATURAL on every voice in the Jupiter-80. The Fantom-G is old now, but Roland has a more powerful workstation in development. RADIAS was failure and M3 isn't in the same league as a Fantom-G, MOTIF XF, or Kronos; it's comparable to the Juno-Gi or MO.

  • @TomZentra

Sorry to burst your Roland bubble, but the Fantom G's included factory sounds are comparable to a Casio,as Roland deliberately stocks their workstations with toy-like sounds,so that it forces the Roland user to spend a fortune on ARX cards(yeah, those cards only only $100 now,but they were originally $449 a piece) and that's pure extortion.

In terms of workstations,Roland will never be in the same league as Korg or Yamaha, because the ARX library is still incomplete....

  • @UniformedServices69 So Roland Sucks?

  • @UniformedServices69 Are you serious??? I was going to buy one of these but I don't think I will now since I heard that!!!!!!

  • I love that keyboard so much. I could spend a whole 24 hours just playing it, its that much fun to use.

  • I might get a Roladn G6 This weekend. I'm so excited.

  • It's amazing to hear and look at it.

    But is it worth it?

Would a Nord or Yamaha be better?

  • im a beginer at makeing beats should i get one of these rollands..i never used a mpc in my life what should i do

  • @smokelahoma1

you should start with DAWS before you start thinking about a $3,000 keyboard

  • @smokelahoma1 Before I bouth my Fantom G6 I had a Yamaha CS 2X...I tried to connect this thing to the computer....bying Cubase. It never worked out. It was realy frustrating.I must confess that I am a complete idiot in these stuff. So my advice for you is that if you know a lot about computers and software and stuff I think you can buy a cheaper synth and some programs like Cubase. If you are a technological idiot like me:) buy this synth. Its so easy to work and record with this machine...

  • @LAZERFIST888 Korg M3 sounds and looks beautiful ;)

  • Fantom G all the way. I use the Motif X8 just a little nowadays.

  • @LAZERFIST888 I actually think... The piano sounds of the Fantom are better than the piano sounds of the Motif... I think Motif XF is just a Motif XS painted black... The FantomG presents so many improvements compared with the FantomX... And the orchestra sounds of the Fantom are more realistic.... I think about the effects and arpeggiator is questionable, but the synths sounds and others for progressive music are much better in the Fantom... It sounds purer and deeper...

  • Eh id still be happy with a Jupiter 8 and my fully expanded Jv 1080 :D but its all good its just a opinion. I must say i hate when people go to the music stores and try to record on these and screw everything up and make it impossible to play :/

  • how can people dislike this?? im guessin its cos you cant afford it haha

  • @jankromurda I think cuse the video diden't show much of the fantomG's sounds, arps, dsp effects or if you can make your sounds with it will at lest that's what I think if they did that it would be alot more helpful

  • @jankromurda Yeap

  • @jankromurda I like the "blunt." As i nthe Dislike Bar.

  • i got a phantom g6 off craigs list for $1700 and i fucking love it

  • @MCRfan141995 What didi you type to find it?

  • Roland themselves Admitted that the Previous Model has a more Stable Sequencer, & when this was released, it had the Sample Functions missing! But Roland have some of the most impressive & Expressive Sounds out there. the Motif is Good if you're into Pop Music! Big Nasty Sounds with no Skill needed! The M3 must be shit otherwise Korg would resort to selling it with "We invented the Workstation Concept"! Although the OASYS does look shit hot! Tough choice people!

  • Expensive?

  • @DrVoxeatspeople for obvious.. 3460$

  • This keyboard works with FL studio ?

  • @YoungChasin yes, they work together, they wake up at 6:30, they have breakfast together and they go work, they don't get paid much but you know how it is dont you? lol j/k

  • @YoungChasin lol ^o^

  • Ahh....I'll stick with Yamaha. Much better overall than Roland.

  • THIS THING IS A BEAST. Please check out my channel for some new Fantom tracks I just made! most recently "Higher than a Wish" with a live break down using the touch pads and a mixed in vocal. Thanks!

  • I just played one of these today....OMG it was amazing! If only I had the money for it

  • play the Jupiter 8 and you know why Roland is the nr 1

  • Looks like it has amazing sound changing capabilities, and can produce audio with a great techno feel :P. But it lacks the ability to play 2 or 3 different melodies simultaneously using different instruments. e.g. the Stagea Electone. What's also impressive is that the Fantom-G allows customization on the "supernatural" sounds. But, the super articulation on Yamaha's tyros 3 seems to be better, but lacks the extra customization.

  • damn... This one must be soo friggin expensive :O

    I want one !

  • WTF their is jizz evrywhere ! this keyboad is sexyful

  • roland owns in everything

  • Roland Fantom G7 or Yamaha Motif SX 7 ? wthat should i bay ?

  • The sounds and looks are a joke compared to the Nord stage. You wanna play pop/rock,classical or jazz music? choose the Nord. If you want techno/house music? Take a Korg or even a Moog.

    Roland go home!!!

  • @JeffELOLynne what kind of crack u smokin?

  • Brovo!

  • i got the g7 and its the best keyboard i ever played did four tracks with it you could hook up your condensor mic to it and edit all your tracks and tweek sounds and add 16 sounds all in one the best of all keyboard.... the only bad thing is you have to buy alot of extra stuffs like usb card, foot padle, 1gig internal memories [$100+] and the supernatural exp cards all together your spending about another $1200 and keeping up with the update thats about it....but other then that i love it

  • g 6 here and lovin it,this was the break through vid that i chose it,well other than, checkin out the m3,and motif in person.Fantom g baby!!!!!!

  • check out me using my fantom g8 to make hardcore pop punk and Metal. along with ax-1 KEYTAR sh201 and sp404. watch my "keyboard update" video :)

  • ok, guys i need serious help, shud i get the yamaha s910 or the roland fantom? i want to play as mostly a solo performer with almost all genre but mostly pop and rock genre...

  • Comment removed

  • Can a guitar effects processor such as the BOSS GT-3 be hooked up to this so I can record guitar through MIDI?

Also, will this support 2 condenser mics so I can record acoustic guitar in stereo?

  • @jazzmatik I use my gt-10 with it sometimes. The fantom has its own set of high quality effects as well.

  • Comment removed

  • The only thing I like is the acoustic piano roland, then, for the rest I'll take the Yamaha XS Motf

  • the fantom m3 and motif xs sound great to me...they got a wealth of features..i saw one on the m3 which really caught my attention...but id go with the fantom g if i had to choose..my second choice wud be a motif xs..not soo much of a korg fan so i wud make it my third choice..but that doesnt mean that its not a great keyboard cuz it really is...jus never been a fan of it..

  • how does this compare to some of korgs workstation?

  • Personal preference of course. Only the M3 is comparable to this. I actually use a lot of the piano sounds and other accoustic instruments on the Fg in live performance. korgs features don't come in handy for me. If you can't try them at a store download their manuals and see if the've got what you want.

Still(Biased of course) I think the roland is slightly better and easier to master)

  • In every way imaginable if you are a studio recording artist and you use roland recording vs equipment!!!!..........no doubt...........7

  • Piano sound cool

  • @LAZERFIST888 Korg M3 sounds and looks beautiful

  • GUYS!!!!HELP!!!which is the best?motif xs, korg m3 or roland fantom g?HELP!PLEASE :|

  • @vonne25000 Motif xs but korg m3 is more affordable

  • @vonne25000 You have to choose for yourself. What works for me may not work for you. You might think the piano on the roland sounds better then the M3 and I might think the M3 sounds better. Go to a music store. Play around with all of them. Ask questions based on your needs. Then choose. Which was more fun. Which one have the features you need? You may not need multi track recording in the fantom. Or you might think that Karma on the M3 is not what you need either. Never go by what people say

  • KORG!!

  • New sound engine ? These are the same Roland samples recycled over from their previous generations of keyboards. Cool new design. But, The sound is not that different from the Fantom X series. The price tag is ridiculously high with another new generation of even more expensive expansion boards,

  • what is a expansion board

  • Samples just sound shitty to me. There's nothing like the originals.

  • lazerfist888 this is the best comment about fantom and motif...excellent both of them!!!!

  • dont know which board i want, Motif xs or fantom g.....

  • oasys

  • I am exactly the same, mate!

  • @Slick31601 Fantom G Bro, Easily.

  • @Slick31601 Motif's sounds are way better! Here's the bottom line: If you want acoustic sounds, go for the motif

If you want synths go for Korgs M3

If you want a super-sexy-and-professional-looking WS go for the Fantom.

After a lot of search i finally bought the motif.

  • @Slick31601 Fantom G is a lot easier to operate. Motif is a bit more complicated.

  • @Slick31601 Fantom g. My church may get

  • Looks good and sounds good but to be honest I don't like the idea of everything in one box and it all has the same overly clean sound on everything. Does it really sound any better than an RD700, Korg Triton, Juno 106, Jupiter 8, Roland XV3080, Dx7, Yamaha SY99, Roland TD12 and a bunch of modern software plugins? I doubt it. Nothing on the demo suggests that.

  • how much does this cost?

  • okay, my real question is on effects. how many can i layer onto individual audio tracks such as vocals and guitar?

  • nice ....brice de nice

  • I think its easier to use than most of workstations because of mouse. I have tested it and its just awesome! Im gonna buy it.

  • 1) It's like a computer. Seriously

    2) How the hell do they expect us to actually learn how to use that damn thing?

  • which model foot pedal do i need for a sustain pedal?

  • any

  • r the buttons on dus keyboard bright?i mean so other peepz sitting beside or infront/behind the keyboard can see the light? so the keyboard looks cool?

    the prelude has bright lights?

  • It's lights are pretty bright. THey have them on display in Guitar World with the lights dim and even then the lights are bright xD

  • 00:50 I hope that guy has a really small hand.

  • i wanna see a tutorial video how to record drums in sequencer, i probably will buy the m50 or this one , no idea which 1 is the rite for me :s

  • This is three times the price of the M50.. how can you compare those two?

  • a lot of money :\

  • Half the price of an OASYS though, and pretty much the same.

  • I just got one today:) Amazing synth!

  • Holy shits. This is the Jesus of keyboards. Available at $3000.

  • What are these like live?

  • Awesome *.* I'm gonna buy it :D

  • FANTASY SOUNDS! I WANT THIS

  • Finally! Ive heard so many poor comparison of the Fantom to other similarly priced workstations, but when I look at the other producers demonstration, it sounds like their playing for an old retirement center. THIS, is what I call a proper demonstration. I am now concidering this one for my new workstation purchase.

  • а я его уже купил!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just love the non-sound cut when changing patches

  • what is the best sound og piano? fantom g8 or rd700G?

    please abswer tnx...

  • I can't decide Roland Fantom G or Korg M3

  • Dude, trust me on this, go with Roland. I had the EXACT same question as you have now until I went to guitar center yesterday, the sales associate showed me this thing and I couldn't even look at the M3 any more.

  • What about durabillity? Which is best?

I have a Korg TR 76 right now and it's very sensitive to transportation. I am thinking about changing to Fantom G or M3 (I had a quite solid Roland XP-80 way back... never any trouble)

  • do u feel regret now after using it for A month ?

  • oasys

  • the motif xs 8 would be the best decision in my opinion^^

  • buy both and get a free night with paris hilton filmed exclusively for mtv viewers.

  • I want one and I dont even play keyboard/piano XD

  • dude you're a tambourine player stop looking at this vid and know your place!

  • @SceneHeartVideos lol dude that things coasts 2000 $ and its for professional use and u want one of these and dont even know the notes?xD get a car m8

  • I Have a Fantom x8.. For this kinda price I dont think the money is worth the small amnt of difference it wud make to my compositions. The only reason i WUD buy it is the fact that it has 22 SEPERATE Reverb & Chorus processors. No more Sharing! They were obvious;y already working on the G series when they released the X 6,7, & 8!

  • What is the price tag for this?

  • it's $1.97 from Donald Rumsfeld suppliers via Iraq american looted corp limited.

  • me wud 2 wud wud wud

  • Lets see the Fantom G8 sells for $3,695.97. ARX-01: Drums and ARX-02 Piano expansion board sells for $445.97. Fully loaded this package costs $4587.91. I'm tired of buying Roland keyboard then expansion boards only for them to be obsolete with the next Keybard release. It was the same for the SRJV80 series now the SRX series. Don't get me wrong I'm a long time Roland user back from the days of the Jupiter 8, But this package is a little too pricey.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • god i hate every one of you who just ordered one i envy you lol; i want one so bad.

  • G8 will be mine soon :) About 2 weeks.. I just can wait!!

  • I already have this board...it SMASHES all the Yamahas I've ever had...and I have a Motif and this thing runs circles around it on ease of use. If you're used to using computer software and know how to program, this is the board. but not everyone can chuck out $3700 for this board...but worth it.

  • How does it compare to the Yamaha Motif XS? Why would it be better?

  • YO I GOT TO GET ONE OF THESE THINGS!

  • nice but i aint payin no 3500 for it. ill keep my fantom x6

  • i got mines yesterday!!!! U NEED TO GET ONE TRUST ME!!!!!

  • I'm ordering mine tomorow cant wait :)

  • no the Roland Fantom G does not come with any of the extra software/upgrades

  • i want..

  • no one needs hardware synth any more

for the home studio i dont that for sure....................

  • I want it to have my kids!!!

  • what????

  • can it do that too?, wow, it is indeed dream machine...

  • The screen itself is worth a fortune; the first time in synth history now you can clearly see what you're doing! :-)

  • Check out Korg Oasys

  • there is nothing better than the other. fantom-g has some sounds better than m3. m3 has some sounds better than fantom-g. motif xs has some sounds better than m3/fantom-g. buy all 3!

  • Iz it better than the M3?

  • I just bought this keyboar a week ago and it is off the chain. I love it

  • I am so glad i didnt buy fantom x 2months ago!

  • I cant understand why people continue to try so hard to find something wrong with things. You're complaining about a GODDAMN MOUSE?! You guys that complain about crap like that are the most ungrateful people on earth. Roland fixed the glitches that were on the X, and now your complaining about a mouse. The sounds on it are amazing, and the interface is so user friendly. I used it at Sam Ash a week ago. So for you complainers, you are the most negative people I know. The bottom line is the music.

  • should i raise some more money, return my fantom x and get a fantom g OR keep my fantom x

  • GET THE G MAN!! i was debating between the x or the motif xs8..but i was like F it! ima get the motif xs8 for now..then save more money! and get the G8 MWHAHA!

  • sell!!!!!!!!!!!! I sold my fantom x8 and motifxs8 to get my g8 and i am so much happier!

  • So which do you prefer, the Fantom G or the Motif XS8? and why?

  • I use the fantom G to record music at the studio but I'm still a Motif guy all the way.. only because I like performing live, and motif definitly sounds so nice live, the fantom feels too much like a cheap keyboard at my fingertips

  • I hate motif's piano sound

  • I tried the Fantom G8 for like 2 hours 3 days ago;

This is the BEST Interface possible (at least the most friendly using) alot better than M3 and Oasys(which remain the most complete workstation up to date but 8000$ vs 3900$ for fantom G8)

The new SRX sound included are incredible (except Brass)

Im doing a alot of soundtrack orchestration arrangements etc and that beast will be on my desk soon for sure::: but for Synthesiser sound I guess nothing can beat ClaviaNOrd, Virus Triton etc

  • And for the one who complain about the mouse well for Draging editing etc thats really helpful but there are a LOOOTtttt of shortcut on this one which was the major problem with the X and alot of Bugs, cheap sound, SRX card (up to 150$)

Thats a must and its price is very low for what it can gives ;I dont know about the sampling quality tough: the rec is so fast, so easy: but on the G8 the keys are hard to press so I dont know if its because I tried a new one but I would rather go to a G7

  • watch out KORG, watch out. the M3 can only be the top for so long. The oasys is still the king tho

  • yea but u can buy 2 roland g for one oasys

  • mouse...

those that work with Comp. DAW. buy all kinds of equipment just to avoid using a mouse.

but Roland doesn't get it, they do the opposite.

  • I think what you just said don't make sense. Some people still like to use the mouse in somethings. i have a edirol pcr 500 to control my sonar. I can control everything with it but, sometimes using a mouse is a must in certain editing. I think it give you more flexibility. if you don't like it don't the mouse. Don't use it.

  • It's not like te mouse is built in!. Thats why It's optional!

  • @sampling - i heard something is missing in the G series. please prove me wrong otherwise tell me what are the major differences between the two. 1 love

  • Regular sampling is there. Multi-sampling is coming in a update really soon according to Roland. The G sounds clearer, bigger, fatter and punchier than the X. The vast onboard FX are a major leap.

  • I wonder what sounds are like, just read FM review of this unit, no mention of sound quality, COME ON!!! It's an instrument first!!! Guess, I'll have to go to the store to check it out, so far listening to Youtube & from Roland site - not impressed with sound emulators, Motif seems to sound better.

  • I just got a chance to play the RD 700GX. The acoustic piano sounds really rich, full, and detailed. But only a trained ear can really notice the difference. The other acoustic piano sounds sets has some nice layered features. Keep in mind, the richness in sound will heavily depend on the quality and type of speakers you have

Do not play out of an amp If this stuff sounds good on the 700GX, I can imagine it will sound beautiful on the Fantom G8, especially since it has the DSP chip installed.

  • Oh yeah! That Ivory feel really do feel nice to the hands. I will be trading in my RD 700sx for the FantomG8. The FantomG8 has too many positives. The price is kinda steep though : (

However, with all the built in features that it has, you will will be saving a bundle.

  • In your face, YAMAHA. :D A musician's dream come true.

  • I think its worth mentioning my musical dreams may differ from Roland, its subsidiaries and shareholders. So its not "in your face Yamaha", the XS is an extremely attractive prospect when put side to side.

  • fucking aye i think i just found my new lifes goal.

  • Simply gorgeous. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

  • lets see this product under the control of a musician worthy to play it,its not being shown to its best capabilities, where's BERT.you know what i mean.

  • Can you use the VST/AV Compatible editor with FL Studio?

  • should be able to, fl supports vst
