not surprised that the police fell short again, i personally don't count on the police being there when i need them. great to hear about the car jacking device, it sounds like a good product to buy
"that device saved my family" - I still fail to see how the "device" saved the mother and her children from getting shot? Perhaps to recover the car it's useful but in terms of protecting a family from carjacking? Get real.
I believe that what is being inferred here is that there was no need to think about putting up resistance to a carjacker since they knew the device would activate itself and save their car.
What this device does is give you peace of mind that your car will be ok, and you will find it in a close proximity to where the event occurred. Let them have the car! At least you can get your family out without confrontation. Thus, you can focus on what is really important here; your family's safety.
It really is like GTA. Onstar has a similar setup built in. What's funny is it only works if someone steals your car because they actually call and ask your permission to shut your car off.
That's right. Besides the fact that you actually have to know your vehicle has been stolen, you are paying an extra subscription price to add on the new service. Forced Ignition does it automatically, with no extra costs, and only one purchase.
In the research stage, we found that it was better to have the vehicle far enough away from the victim/family that the carjacker couldn't easily come back to harm them, yet close enough that they would be able to find it and reclaim it. When the carjacker takes the car and it stalls out on them 1/4 mile away, patterns show that they wouldn't run back that distance to harm the family just to find out why it quit and the family most likely wouldn't be in the same location.
While I agree that it's CONVENIENT to have your carjacker 1/4 mile away with your car, I don't see how it "saves lives." If they want to kill you, they're going to kill you. Your product doesn't protect people so much as it does property. The product should be sold with a gun. That might help.
We have not once said it "saves lives". If you are simply assaulted by a carjacker for your vehicle and it stalls within a few feet of you, odds are pretty good that the criminal will be right back to lay hands on you, possibly to finish the job they started if out of nothing more than frustration. By removing the criminal from the immediate area, you also remove that immediate threat to you and/or your family. To imply we are marketing this device solely as a life saver is preposterous.
that's crazy..good advertising at least... police in ontario are the same way...one of our friends had a gun to his head at his place, so we called 911 and after almost 3 hours (long after he had shot himself) the police finally showed up ...then they told the ambulance to come...I thought they were suppossed to come automatically....good thing her and her family are ok.
Thanks! Nothing like being put to the ultimate test. We were just grateful that everybody was ok. We spoke to the family a couple of days later. They were understandably shaken, but the children were already back to normal.

Why didn't they give a description of the carjackers?

She did provide a description of the carjackers to the police department. As of yet, no arrests have been made.

That's good that they got the car back, but how's it saving the family if the carjacker has to DRIVE AWAY from you before anything happens?
