@ktpro No your not converting 60i to 60p. 60i is always 30 frames. Example it takes to fields to make one frame. Do a search for this video on youtube.
No, you are using the 60i footage with separated fields and interpolation to generate a 60p clip. Since you interpolated the effective vertical resolution is half but the temporal information is there. You use this clip for time remapping. You have the broadcast standard confused with the special effects technique.
Google: "Step-by-step slow-motion tutorial - The 60i to 60p to 24p method" on DVInfo.Net. He used VirtualDub+Avisynth which are freeware. The same effect can be done with After Effects time remapping or Sony Vegas Pro velocity envelopes.

this is pretty good.. not that hard though... when you did the slow motion you should of made it a bit slower and the fast motion too
