  • Decent, fun video! LIKE!

  • Aww.. she is so cute when she 1st starts singing.. i this song nd her.. <3 <3 <3 <3

  • last time when 80s, girls and boys are very active as you can see now people cant even do some exercise just keep playing computer in their house.

  • Great Choreography by Paula Abdul as well.

  • Confession.. I was obsessed with Janet Jackson back in the day...lol.. Shes so hot!!!

  • One of my absolute favorite songs and video! Luv Janet, she didn't just ride on the Jackson name, she is truly talented!!!!!

  • One of the first songs I remember hearing as a baby.. I never stopped listening to this music even through the 90s.. Pop music got raped & murdered during the 2000s decade.. Now pfffffffffffffffffff shhhhhhhhhhhhhhpffffffffffffffff don't even get me started.. I can literally say I hate all todays music

  • I love this song so muchhhhh

  • aww look at Janet in her lil chubby days.. I actually think she looks better with more meat on her

  • Try dancing like that in the streets nowadays I bet you about 20 people getting shot.

    sad, but true.

  • This video is copy of Whitney Houston's How Will I Know

  • @MonikaAhatX oh..... *insert eye roll here*

  • @MonikaAhatX stfu, no it isn't

  • This is the first Janet Jackson song I ever heard, and still my favorite one of hers, and a favorite song of mine in general. I can't listen to it without feeling the urge to get up and dance!

  • 19 people has no one to think about...What a great song, sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong era lol.

  • @OnlyDiva14 Songs are forever. It doesn't matter the era, a good song is a good song. Music is eternal and not bound by the era or year it was made or released. I love music that was made before I was born. Many young people today are discovering all the great music made by artists many years ago. Whitney's tragic death has lead to a resurgence of music she made 20+ years ago. Janet's music has & will stand the test of time because it's just good.

  • EPIC SONG!!!!!!

  • This song makes me smile. I ♥ the 80s

  • interesting gene kelly tribute there...

  • when i think of you....... baby xxxx

  • one of the happiest tunes ever recorded....thanks Janet!

  • my favorite Janet Jackson song & video....so much fun...

  • I remember when this came out. There was nothing like this project at all. It was a brand new sound, a brand new look. great choreography and everything. Janet picked people in the industry that weren't known at all and started their national careers. Janet had a lot to say, and we finally had a Jackson with some edge. She ripped it. People go out their way to try to erase her legacy because they're jealous, but you can't erase the fact that she has the MOST billboard awards in history!

  • I've always loved this video. It's so fun and happy.

  • My favourite Janet song. Love the video!

  • Janet was never fat. Janet thought Janet was fat but most of us never thought so. Enough said.

  • that was some choreography Paula put together.

  • no one could pull this video off anymore. the 80's were special

  • i miss fat janet and the 80's! even tho i was born in 1991 :S

  • @9LoL1 I'm sorry but Janet...fat? She's perfect especially compared to the skeletor twigs people worship today. Back then she graced many magazine covers in provocative poses and still looks good today.

  • @2Kriss2Kross Janet was definitely overweight back then. There is no denying that. That's why she did something about it, and by her next album she was a lot slimmer.

  • @LAWoman323213 Thank You!

  • @LAWoman323213 Really? I've never seen "overweight" Janet. I've always seen her like she looked in the video.

  • @LAWoman323213 Janet wasn't slimmer when she did Rhythm Nation!! However, when she did the Love Will Never Do Without You, she lost weight in a VERY unhealthy way!! It's the outfit that makes her look huge. In her other vids from this era, she's looks fine!!

  • OH SNAP!

    BARRACK OBAMA @ 1.35

    hahahahahahahahahahaha

    LIKE!

  • Wow videos were so good back then.

  • damn i want to wear clothes like that again *sigh*

  • 0:07 - 0:14

    Hooray for BUCK BUNDY!!! :)))

  • love this

  • This song brings so much memories from when i was a kid, songs like this blow away lady gaga, nikki minaj, etc.

  • 1959/1960 Cadillac Eldorado Barritz at the beginning of the video. Cool car.

Great camera work by the way. They move from set to set without many cuts.

This probabally took a lot of work to get right.

  • @Nesmith98 Well, as I wrote on facebook a few weeks ago, if I were to ever make or direct a music video this video were definitely serve as the main inspiration for it. This video is still amazing to today. The continuous action and dance sequence throughout is just brilliant. And I love that there looked like so much fun in this video without getting to overly where people were getting undressed or close to it. This song & vid. are definitely my favorite one from the year was 22/23, 1986.

  • Watching videos used to be fun.

  • and also, those kids that are running around in a circle with the trash can tops, those are her nephews TJ and Taryll, Tito's Sons :)

  • All these girls in this video (except Janet) were Laker girls, I just found that out...smh

  • The Jacksons definitely created some of the best music videos. Janet has such a great style and the videos from this record told such great stories. Current artists really should look to these for inspiration!

  • One of the last remaining Jackson's left. I am so thankful I grew up in this era.

  • nice video and song, janet in those days was so cute

  • i love my sister in law and my husband michael jackson <3<<333333333333

  • all her videos/ songs from the Control album are amazing!

  • Fuck man... I still love this song. I was born in 82, but the feelings in the music from the 80's just had that cheer to it. I can imagine what it was like to wake up from sleep hearing this song and getting ready for the first day of high school.

  • The 80's seems more fun....my generation sucks...:(

  • Smiling - This song is the epitome of the 80s. Big hair, shoulder pads. Tacky stage decor and lighting. Oh how I miss those tacky fun filled days. A lil more innocence in the world. At least a more optimistic outlook on the future and our place in the world. Bring back the 80s. Janet luv ya.

  • they just dont make it like they used to.

  • I was in this video. In Janet's early days, Paula Abdul (Janet's choreographer) used to room in an apartment complex my wife & I managed. Paula called 1 morning & asked if I'd like 2 B in a JJ video. Of course, I said yes! I'm the guy who you'll see after Janet leaves the back of the restaurant after dipping her finger in cake batter. Right after all the photographers flash her picture, she goes around 2 the right. If U don't blink, U C me yelling at a girl in a red dress. I'm in all black.

  • @bossyboo29 Nice one dude , guys like you kept people like me entertained in the night clubs , noone can take the memorys of this sound away from me- peace out bro.

  • @barbenH Thanks buddy! Lucky for me, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Thinking back, I sure miss those days. Something about the 80's was a very magical time. I kinda feel like Prince had something to do with that whole vibe. No one will ever be able to take those sounds and memories away from me either! Those were the daze, huh? lol. Thanks for your thoughts my friend...

  • @bossyboo29 Yes my friend them was the 'daze' lol Chicks allova - gawd where the years gone? take care

  • Queen Of Pop <3

  • has to be my one of my fav Janet videos

  • Make no mistake about it. She is the best of the best!

  • Back when a lot of thought was put into producing music videos

  • I remember the preimer for this on MTV

  • Great choreagraphy to a great song!

  • @lmhaglerjr its paula abduls work

  • I'm not abe to listen all the songs of Janet Jackson's late era (Damita Jo, All for You, Discipline), but Control is so good from beggining to end... I love it, it's my favorite album.

  • i wish somebody would invent a time machine so i could back 2 this time....i was only 3 but i remember this like it was yesterday!!!

  • Janet is the best singer

  • This song went #1 on the very day I was born. ... And I love it. Was I BORN a Janet Jackson fan?

  • This was the number one song the day I was born.

  • i love how paula abdul choreographed this video :)

  • Janet and Latoya were the BEST SISTERS FOR Michael.

  • @woody1948able janet yea, La Toya, got to think about that 1

  • no Michael is not singing background. That's one of the song's producers Terry Lewis on the vocals.

  • I Hear Mikey (Michael Jackson) in the song lol =-) Love them crazy Jacksons woo ♥♥♥ xoxoxox

  • @iiQueenBabyJay Michael was never in the video, and his voice isnt either, its someone else

  • reminds me of edge of glory..

  • Dam!, i remember watchin this video when i was about 3, that was in 1986, great memories and times!

  • @haylibooth71 FIRE HYDRANT !! TURN OFF THAT FIRE HYDRANT!!!...LOL Yep I was around 12 when this was new and I remember this song, but it wasnt my favorite on the Album!! I miss this Janet of the 80's and 90's..Her more current music doesnt hold my interest really...

  • @MissJustineperkins IT WAS WONDERFUL! BEST ERA FOR MUSIC

  • damn ads

  • beautiful song, super powerful then and now, it seems incredible power of music has no time or space, is always there might bring us to moments of our lives, I then had 21 years, dreams, illusions, all, one of my favorite song when time does not matter, I hate the fucking time takes it all, minus the music, thanks for this song janet

  • @MissJustineperkins it was the best!!!! I am so thankful to have been a teenager then!!! :-)

  • Trust me growing in the 80'S SOOO fun lol

  • @BadderDenYourz1 Yep, you arent even lying...We had the cool music then, the cool Saturday morning and afterschool cartoons, and the cool toys...Like Tyco racing sets, and the Transformers G1 and G.I Joe...and movies like Gremlins and Ghostbusters!! they just remake everything here in 2011 from the 80s!!

  • @cowbells4u Oh, please. 90's was where TV and Toys were.

  • @MissJustineperkins It was amazing, I wish I had a time machine!!

  • @MissJustineperkins I was, and it was AWESOME!

  • @MissJustineperkins ikr..it was nice!! thanks 2 youtube, u can catch up!!! its never 2 late sweetie!!! i was little an barely understood, but i was jammin tho, lol !!!

  • this song makes me so happy. <3 it!

  • i love you janet

  • Is Paula there?

  • @Carmen6943 naw paula in what have you done for me and Nasty though

  • paula did a good job on this video, but when she fired her and started working with Barry Lather for the AMA's, Grammy's, and the Pleasure Principle, her choreography game evolved. Paula's choreography is acknowledged, but it doesn't stand out like Barry Lather's did and the rest of her choreographers to date.

  • DAft Punk or StarDust sample the "ohhh Baby" bit in the" Music sounds better with you" track. Love JJ.

  • 3:11 my germs!

  • if my ear are decieving i swear the first male sounds are the of my true love michael. i guess that just me

  • @laureathea No it's not just you. Michael's singing background on this...

  • Funny how the guy who complained at 4:20 got arrested and the cops was dancing.

    You Nasty Boys

  • She probably used Aqua Net Pink to hold all that hair up.

  • She has the knack, and is a copy of Michael Jackson .. = D .. Miss him ..

  • @S2MariiaAliiceS2 She is not a copy of MJ. She is herself.

  • the black men who dance with janet looks like q-tip

  • @MissJustineperkins What was even better than that--being a teenager and young adult in the 80s. A great time to be young. I feel a little sorry for today's young people.

  • @DandAinTac we have good music now aaliyha was great rihanna is not that bad beyonce is ok an times change todays young ppl give your years sing there credit...we no not all music is good but give some of the new music some credit so why do you feel sorry i feel sorry for you for having such a closed mind

  • @MissJustineperkins I was and it was ace :D ...so much good music and the videos weren't the naff shite that we're bombarded with thesedays. Janet Jackson's "Control" album made 1986 for me (I was 14) :)

  • @MissJustineperkins yeah it was awesome, what I'd do to go back!! Now I'm off to watch Grand Master Flash - The Message yahoo :D

  • This was the #1 song on my birthday. Shoutouts to October 1986.

  • The Jackson era was truly and one time in modern history we will ever see real talent again.

  • HER 1ST # 1 POP SINGLE 1986... LEGEND

  • This song is awesome. I love Janet Jackson, but she needs to quit with all these generic R&B/Hip Hop tunes. The same goes for Mariah Carey. I used to love her music, but once she started getting in with all these "gangsta" rappers, her music went downhill; now she's acting like a tramp and singing very poor songs. Mariah used to sing nice songs like "Hero," "One Sweet Day," "Always Be My Baby." Now she's doing mess like "Touch My Body." I guess no one cares about respectable music anymore.

  • @alchap9695 amen

  • fuck you vevo and your advertising..I cant even watch this video in peace without being bombarded with brain dead commercials

  • So many memories I never get tired of hearing Janets music!

  • this video makes me so happy! it's so full of color and life and dancing and smiles!

  • So Be<3 utiful

  • shes so curvy & so pretty

  • kudos to Paula Abdul for her choreography

  • she remmbrs me to much his brothr... :'(

  • Love Janet! She's so pretty.

  • The dancing was top notch back then..I guess all you have now is video vixen who just shakes it!!!

  • pls why did music turn from giving pure joy as this classic to what it's now become? oh somebody pls stop this abomination that's called music today and bring back beautiful joyful music of yesteryears...oh i'm sooo nostalgic..

  • Heard this song in a subway and could not help but hum the lyrics...didn't care if the people behind the counter noticed me...they're supposed to be making my sandwich anyway :)

  • You don't get fun upbeat music like this anymore...it's such a shame.

  • i do love janet thou lol plese forgive me

  • when i stink of poo

  • Always hear this song on the radio , this a classic xD

  • You got to remember, our "old school" was once "new school" and the people before them probably disliked their music just like you dislike our generation's music. It's really a matter of opinion and preferences.

  • @imParisthoee sorry....This was my generation's music and my parents LOVED Janet Jackson, Whitney, Madonna, etc. New school.....really is bad. There's no really substance. My daughter is 20 and even says she wishes music was like generations before - my generation and her grandparents (60's and 70's). Its like quality went out the door. No songwriters. Manufactured noise. Show me this generations Hendrix, James Brown, Joan Boaz, Earth Wind and Fire, Led Zeppelin, Aretha, Prince, Mj

  • Love love love the 80's

  • choreographed by . . . Paula Abdul.

  • And so cool! :)
