I absolutely love Frank Black, but, everything he does is NOT amazing. He was pumping out songs like it was his job(oh yeah it is), and in the process losing quality with quantity for quite a while after Frank Black and Teenager of the Year.

I just watched the Bowie/Moby cover of this song from Leno's show and it absolutely sucks. I can't believe how good this version is. Bowie IS the man, but Pixies are the best.

Charles (Frank Black, Black Frances) is the man. Anyone who thinks Bowie's version (of Charles's song) is better, well...wtf...what producer of dog food commercials got to you??

No one is saying it is better; it is very very different. He has imbued it with a completely different feel and inference in the lyrics.

If you want to get technical though, a lot of people prefer Bowie's voice to Frank's.

The David Bowie version is better, but he just put more time into interpreting the song. Cactus is one of the best pixie songs ever.

sarah thank you very much did this a while ago.....it was the first wmm thing i did.....love dave and this song by frank black is amazing...so wanted to inject a bit of a sense of humour.....and props to the Duke
