In world war 2 naval warfare, the warplanes became dominant, ships were second. In my opinion the Kriegsmarine was one of the best navy in that time. The Home Fleet didn't wipe out the German navy, aircrafts did. What the Kriegsmarine achieved during the war was more than the Home Fleet did. They nearly cut off the British Islands. I'm sure everybody understands my point. One more thing: check the BRT numbers, and you will know which fleet caused more damage to the enemy....
@previewsoldier Not realy. The Bismark destroys the Hood with a single Shoot, and the Hood was the best Ship of the royal navy. After this the royal navy destroys the bismark with many ships and airplanes. So the Bismark was one of the most powerfull Battleships ever built. And the Reichsmarine a very good navy.
@MegaHanfi the hood was a WWI era Battlecruiser, hardly a match for any of the Royal Navy's more recent ships given that she had not been refited. the Prince of Wales which was sent with the Hood only failed to do the job because she was so new that they were construction workers still on board when she left port to intercept the Bismark with the Hood.
I guess it is an English ship. It is not very large and I know they had some small aircraft carriers that could transport only few planes but they were quite effective against German submarines.
