Yeah and by the way, the implication behind calling sexuality a 'lifestyle choice' is really messed up. The creator of this video definitely needs to offer some clarity. Otherwise their could be a dangerous misconception as a result. Like that sexuality itself is a choice and not that chosing to live the truth or a lie is the choice.

Anyone with access to this video also has access to Dictionary.com. Look up the word "lifestyle" and pay attention to the definition.
You can say I am wrong, but the fact that I used a word correctly will NEVER change how other people interpret a word.
Why don't you send everyone in America a dictionary to head off this stupid problem?
My point is, "I" am not the problem...

The way I see it. I never "chose" to be straight, so how can anyone else? Do gay people have some kind of supernatural powers that enable them to choose whom they are attracted too? Umm...I don't think so.
Plus, I don't see what the big deal is. I'm straight and there are 4 gay guys in my fraternity and they're awesome!

You do have a point. However, I do, as well.
I CHOOSE to be with men. I did this because it feels right. But I could also CHOOSE to be with women, despite it feeling unnatural to me.
Anything that one chooses to do with one's life is a lifestyle choice. You chose to do what comes naturally to you, as did I. But there are those that do not
I hope this clarified things.

That's completely rediculous! By that standard, chosing to tie my shoes is a lifestyle or eating spagetti. There is no choice in sexuality. The choice to live honestly or dishonestly with one's sexuality is different, than saying that one choses their sexuality itself.

Honestly, the English language is a larger part of my life than my sexuality, so I take more pride in my knowledge of the language that your country brought over to my unfortunate country.

I also find it rude to insult someone if you do not know them personally. I don't know a single thing about you, aside from what you put out there for the world to see, which isn't much.
I also think that someone who puts nothing out there has no room to judge the work of others. It's similar to a bum on the street telling me how to mow my lawn; he doesn't feel the need to work, yet he criticizes mine.

I don't want strangers looking at pictures of me and knowing about my private life. I also do not want people to be able to associate my comments on videos with me as an actual person. This is mainly because it could effect my job and future prospects within the company I work for. Remember, although we have freedom of speach in the UK, its not quite as free as the US. This could cause problems for me if I were to make comments about the floods of Polish comming into my country, for example.

Don't give yourself too much credit. I'm only allowed 500 characters in these comments, after all, and I prefer to use whole words to convey my thoughts adequately.
American English is a different DIALECT, yes. Your comparison is flawed in that slang and shorthand are not spoken languages, and not widely agreed upon; there is no standard for them.
I can respect your need for privacy; it is not unreasonable. You seem to think I am unreasonable in requesting competence of adults.

I believe that a grown person should be responsible for their disposition. There is no reason, apart from laziness, which is no reason at all, for an adult to accept incompetence as a way of life.
I did not take your banter as insult. I enjoy when I get intelligent responses that challenge my ability to support my views.
I also truly enjoy learning new words. British English fascinates me. The only reason I refrain from using it is that it is incorrect in America. My grades would suffer.

Although I do not wish it. Could you ever consider that Internet English may one day become a dialect? Or that it is pretty widely accepted already. I personally do not like this new culture developing around the internet.
One thing that pisses me right off, which seems to stem from YouTube, is this wave of people who think they are educated or that their opinion actually matters, ranting about a subject. For example, that Brandon fella.
But I have to accept this new culture I suppose.

That is an intriguing and scary thought, but a dialect is spoken, more than written, so I doubt it. There is, to my knowledge, no association dedicated to deciding on the standards of an internet "dialect" so I doubt that it will become official. It is just a bad habit, as far as I am concerned, and I am out to set a good example.
I don't like that people with poorly developed opinions state them so openly with no support, because all they must do is press "record". It is unfortunate.

I don't need to be told these things. As I said, I don't make a big deal of the differences in people, because "different" is common, as everyone is different. A bit contradictory, but it does make sense, if you think about it.
I'm not saying that you didn't have a point, somewhere, but you should think out your responses a bit more before posting them. I don't see why you responded as though I were against diversity and indifferent to everyone...

I agree with you and Brandon. I don't listen to people who hate or don't like me. I don't even listen to people who do like me. That's how much I care. I'm focused on work, and making sure my other responsibilities are taken care of. I operate like a machine, and I know what I have to do to function daily, and nothing will stop or get in the way of that. A lot of the haters seem to be immature, and I'd like to think that I'm not; therefore I can ignore them because we are nothing alike.

If we are ALL different, then we are all, essentially, the same in our difference, which is the point in my statement.
I realize that Brandon has MUCH more exposure than I do, but the exposure has nothing to do with it but quantity. The principle behind it is the same.
You are right, those comments are pure ignorance, but that is exactly why the deserve to be ignored. Fueling the flames won't make the fire die, as they say...

We all have various backgrounds, lifestyles & opinions that makes everyone wonderful including yourself. I know you might receive a bad comment every now & then but probably not as often as he does.
