Oh, Ys.

I haven't finished a single game in the entire series, but right now I'm starting a second attempt at Ys 1. The music, the gameplay, the overall FEEL of the game... It's pretty damn perfect.

I'll probaby end up giving this game a shot, but the DS music can't hold a candle to the Turbografx music.

I agree. The game is still awesome, but I would still like to keep the killer guitar and synth tracks of the TG-16 version.

i traded this game after beating book 1 because it was so freakin' short.

Book II is a lot longer though. Eh, your choice, but I consider both games to be one game, since the second comes right after the first.

@exodiahunter87 I have Ys 7, and I have Oath in Felghana (PSP) pre-ordered. I also have Ys Book I & II on the TG-16 (on the Wii's Virtual Console...gotta love it!). I've also played through the PC version of Oath in Felghana, and I've also played through Ys Origin.

So, how do you like Ys 7? =)

@Pr0udDragon pretty damn good, although some of the non-boss enemies are a little too easy for me. Is it possible to unlock a sound test menu in #7? i also have oath in felghana pre ordered. mine's the limited edition.

@exodiahunter87 Unfortunately, there's nothing extra like that in Ys Seven. Oath in Felghana, though, is going to have a gallery, movies, and I believe a sound test menu in it. It also has more difficulties--Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard, Nightmare, and Inferno. Very Easy, Very Hard, and Inferno, as you probably noticed, aren't in Ys Seven, so Oath in Felghana offers more in that sense, although it's only about 10 - 12 hours long, but more if you're going for completion.

I also pre-ordered the LE of Oath in Felghana. I really can't wait until Tuesday to get it!

P.S. Before I forget, Ys Seven doesn't have a time attack mode either, but Oath in Felghana does. That definitely adds a lot of gameplay.

@exodiahunter87 Yeah, if I remember I'll let you know if I hear anything. If they ever come here, though, it'll practically be a miracle. If anything, it'll be on the Virtual Console, since the latest remakes of those games were for the PS2.

@Pr0udDragon i just recently beat oath in felghana's time attack mode on ALL difficulty settings including the 2 extra battles. Also, would you ever take the cloth map with Ys 7 out of the shrink wrap or the art calendar from oath in felghana out of its shrink wrap?

@exodiahunter87 Nice! I actually did take them out...I'm not much of a collector. I get things and I play to use them haha. I'm planning on hanging the cloth map up somewhere (nothing that will puncture it, though), and I use the calendar. I also use the art book that came with Ys 7. Of course, I don't take them apart!

It took me forever to figure out to switch to the silver equipment for the final boss. It helps so much.

Yeah...Just like in Ys II, it's tempting to not use the Goddess's Ring in the final battle, but it halves the speed of the projectiles, making it needed by all means.

No problem. I am at the end on the TG-16 version. Can't beat Dahm...it's really hard. Actually, my thumb hurts from it after a few tries... =(

I still have the game and the TG-16 CD. I know a trick to it, but I warn you, it'll take time. Once you do it, you'll have no problem for the rest of the game...
