@RADIOACTIVEBUNY I never actually played Planetside, but I can tell you that there are "Hubs" where people can hang out and talk, and from there you can go 'questing', but I use that term very loosely. It's basically run through and kill mob 'x' over and over again on different maps. There is a shop system and you earn money and gear from the quests and you can use that money in the shops to upgrade you gear etc. It's a decent FPS in my opinion. I never liked Unreal or Quake, but I like this

I started following huxley in the beginning. It seemed like a promising mmo game with nice graphics. Then I learned it isn't really an mmo, you fight in smaller separate maps with a selected number of friends and enemies. That isn't even the bad part. im into tactical shooters, like socom, or ghost recon, or battle field, i couldn't tell who was on teams, it was just cluster fuck of rocket spam everywhere, looked like it required no skill..the music sounded like some dreadful star wars movie drama bull shit...what a disappointment, this looked promising..

it's in closed beta, meaning certain people are emailed saying they're one of the lucky people who get to play while everyone else waits, however, soon it's coming to the open beta, meaning everybody gets to play before the game is considered "finished", but they're is a tendancy that in the beginning of an open beta there will be an update on like the second day that stops EVERYONE from playing, but only temporarily. so basically, just wait.

In all seriousness though... I don't see why you need to have hands. Hell I don't even need the gun as long as I've got a clear HUD icon. As long as there are crosshairs I know where I'm aiming.

It created a plethora of new opportunities for both survivors and infected alike by way of the new maps which have some very obvious, and other not-so-obvious choke/attack points, and also by adding the new special infected. Many people, for example, regard the jockey as useless, but with the updates to it, and in the hands of a skilled player, the jockey can be a great asset. My2cents
@SaitoAOG for a multitude of petty reasons. a) people believe that L4D2 was released too soon and decided not to buy it, b) L4D2 takes has settings during the daylight which turns some people off, even though the gameplay remains the same.
c) for some people the fact that you can't see your own feet bothered them to no end.
And as far as critic ratings... if you listen to critics, you're going to miss out on a lot of real gems out there. Never let someone else tell you what's good.

That's just plain silly...

Yep. they're mods that you get for your classes. Like you can get a speed upgrade that lets you sprint. And the Phantom gets the ability to cloak around which is really helpful for the sniper class.
Nevermind the fact that if Unreal is licensing out their engine, everyone shouldn't expect a huge change in gameplay. Yes a game can utilize unreal and not be unreal (a la Fairytale Fights) but if it's an FPS and it's utilizing unreal, chances are it might just feel a little like that game.
It basically is UT, no wait IT IS UT. Your waiting to play a game that is just another rip off of the same thing. Just download Nexuiz or Cube, same thing.
Not that I remember no... and there's a level where there are huge differences in height. I never did try jumping from the top to the bottom though... so there is a possibility.

Before this game I'd never played quake or UT, but I did try Quakelive and UT3 afterwards and didn't like either of them nearly as much as I did Huxley.
It actually is. But it's more an MMO in the vein of Guildwars or Diablo. There is a town that acts as a lobby, you can group up and go do quests and fight NPC enemies/aliens and whatnot.
This footage is of one of the PvP modes which is basically a standard FPS setup, but you get to keep upgrades you've made in the game to your gear and stats and bring them to the game with you.
Lol, yeahhh... that's what everyone keeps saying. I must be the only gamer in the world who never actually played UT3, so I didn't make that connection.
I like your enthusiasm! Haha, unfortunately closed beta is over D; We're all waiting to hear when open beta will hit so we can go back to an awesome FPS experience.

Okay soo apparently I can't post comments with links... so in short, no you don't really need a 'beast'. You just need a 'little hellraiser' :P. You can put together a PC that will run Huxley decently for about 700 bucks. a bit more to get it running well, and probably about a grand to get it running smoothly with fraps.
BuyXG and Pricewatch are your best friends in this quest for a PC =]
I've never actually played Ratchet and Clank, but I plan on getting the one coming out for PS3, so if the shotgun's in that one I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Not that I remember no... and there's a level where there are huge differences in height. I never did try jumping from the top to the bottom though... so there is a possibility.

Before this game I'd never played quake or UT, but I did try Quakelive and UT3 afterwards and didn't like either of them nearly as much as I did Huxley.

Eh... kinda. I just recently tried UT3 for the first time and I really didn't like it anywhere near as much as I liked this game.

It actually is. But it's more an MMO in the vein of Guildwars or Diablo. There is a town that acts as a lobby, you can group up and go do quests and fight NPC enemies/aliens and whatnot.
This footage is of one of the PvP modes which is basically a standard FPS setup, but you get to keep upgrades you've made in the game to your gear and stats and bring them to the game with you.

Okay soo apparently I can't post comments with links... so in short, no you don't really need a 'beast'. You just need a 'little hellraiser' :P. You can put together a PC that will run Huxley decently for about 700 bucks. a bit more to get it running well, and probably about a grand to get it running smoothly with fraps.
BuyXG and Pricewatch are your best friends in this quest for a PC =]

It will be a typical korean game though, with item shop for temporary items that will be nice and uber for your dollar :P.
As far as subscriptions though, no worries.

well it was always supposed to be online, but they just decided to scrap the 360 version.
Chances are microsoft gave them too much trouble as happens with a lot of PC/360 multiplat games.
