Get educated before you spout off. Or you look like an idiot.
30 psi on stock turbo? first of all it wasn't holding at 30psi it spiked at 30 psi. and that doesn't make too much sense to me either. why wouldn't you just upgrade to a bigger turbo and bigger intercooler with short piping and a shepard tranny stage 3 at least if you plan on drag racing it. her 1/4 mile times aren't too bad. needs a two step in the car my opinion. other than that nice car.

actually, defi are known to be off by psi or so. I had two different boost gauges, my DEFI and an HKS one that I g snatched from my friends supra and when we compared them, the DEFI read about 1 psi higher than the HKS and my boost was dialed in at 20.

I used to have a daily driven GT35r 2004 EVO llV. The engine blew on me after 25K miles and believe me I took care of the car well. I replaced it with an 2004 STi because I knew the cars were rivals. The STi I spent less money on mods, got higher horsepower, got better gas mileage, and got better times at the track. Not to mention I have been daily driving it for past 65K miles without any major problems or problems at all. It is just a more comfortable and better engineered car.
30psi on the STOCK turbo, STOCK block, STOCK pistons? That is the dumbest fucking idea EVER. I am not an expert on EVO's but I am not suprised that her engine wasn't fucked too. That is just totally insane and that car is not set up right. I am running 18psi with a GT30R set up on my 03 WRX and I make 404whp and run 11.5 in the 1/4 I know alot more about subarus that evos but that is just plain stupid to be running those boost levels. I am sure that car is fried by now.
We have many, many customers running a similar set up and state of tune with Aquamist Alcohol injection with no problems what so ever. A Subaru on pump gas is a totally different animal than a Evo on alcohol.

My Evo IX runs 30psi on the stock turbo with alky injection, stock block, stock head with 3.5"IC, hks 272s, Buschur intake and exhaust and ARP head studs and it is 100% FINE. You Subaru guys dont understand because your blocks are shit and cant take any boost and youre mad it takes your car a T3 turbo to match the power a stock turbo/block Evo can make.

Wow, I read through some of these comments and I feel like killing myself. The turbo and stock internals are perfectly capable of 30psi, all this is a measurement of efficiency. Shes running alcohol so she can run more boost without detonating. 30psi on alcohol is just as safe as 20-23psi on pump. I ran 30psi on my evo and the turbo didnt commit suicide.

I used to have a daily driven GT35r 2004 EVO llV. The engine blew on me after 25K miles and believe me I took care of the car well. I replaced it with an 2004 STi because I knew the cars were rivals. The STi I spent less money on mods, got higher horsepower, got better gas mileage, and got better times at the track. Not to mention I have been daily driving it for past 65K miles without any major problems or problems at all. It is just a more comfortable and better engineered car.

30psi on the STOCK turbo, STOCK block, STOCK pistons? That is the dumbest fucking idea EVER. I am not an expert on EVO's but I am not suprised that her engine wasn't fucked too. That is just totally insane and that car is not set up right. I am running 18psi with a GT30R set up on my 03 WRX and I make 404whp and run 11.5 in the 1/4 I know alot more about subarus that evos but that is just plain stupid to be running those boost levels. I am sure that car is fried by now.

We have many, many customers running a similar set up and state of tune with Aquamist Alcohol injection with no problems what so ever. A Subaru on pump gas is a totally different animal than a Evo on alcohol.

i agree!!! I drive an evo and 30psi seems pretty fukin impossible on all the stock parts 'getalife04' mentions. stock turbo on the evo would not just blow, it would fukin BLOW THE FUK UP if it hit 30psi for an extended period of time; i.e. at the drag strip. lol 30psi?? i've seen it on mine, but not for more thatn 2 seconds! lol

Youre a fucking idiot. First of all, 30psi on a 16G that only flows a max of 44 lbs of air is NOT dangerous on a 4G63 motor. My Evo IX runs 30psi on the stock turbo with alky injection, stock block, stock head with 3.5"IC, hks 272s, Buschur intake and exhaust and ARP head studs and it is 100% FINE. You Subaru guys dont understand because your blocks are shit and cant take any boost and youre mad it takes your car a T3 turbo to match the power a stock turbo/block Evo can make.

@getalife04 Dude, you gonna have to learn about EVOs. Unlike WRXs or STIs (which I own), which can maybe handle 25psi on the stock block, and that's pushing it ... EVOs don't have an issue at 30psi ... they have totally awesome motors, especially on Alcohol. Well said Al.

@getalife04 evo stocks blocks are granite 30 psi is no problem ,my evo runs 28 psi daily for the last 2 years on e85 and stock 16g turbo 2004 evo 8 i ran 11.53@122 i made 368whp on mustang dyno..stock blocks can run 10's daily driven and over 500 hp 32psi on evo ..wrx blocks are glass..theres no way 18psi and 404 whp.. even the STI @ stock 15 psi only has 240whp so how you gonna make 160hp more who with 3 more psi on a 2.0...i smell bull shit

@getalife04 The reason we run that high of boost is called an "Cast Iron, closed decked block". I have repcet that you have a powerful subi, but at least have some respect of the owners ride, they put in a lot of pride in thier work, probably just like yourself.
