I get around 600MB/h, so I'd guess, given a 2-hour average on the movie, around 6 GB. Even if it's at th highest quality the device will accept (it can play higher quality on a dock than it can on its own screen), it's no more than 4 GB/hr, or about 40 GB.
ok so im getting a Zune for christmas are there any bugs in it that i might want to watch out for? and i also want to know if you have any information about the Zune3 with the phone and everything? please reply.
Microsoft has not officially announced anything about a Zune 3/Phone. And honestly, don't expect a new one for quite some time. As for bugs, there is really nothing major that I would advise you to look out for.
Actually, they have announced there will be no Zune Phone. They have, however, shown some evidence that they're working to get Zune (or very Zune-like) features into their Windows Mobile platform. They haven't announced anything for when they hope to release it, though.
Zune Pros: Works with Windows Media Center, will be updated in the future, free laser etching with Zune Originals, (subjectively) better interface, subscription music with Zune Pass.
Zune Cons: Software is oversimplified, doesn't support Apple's Protected AAC, slightly larger, no "extras" (calendar, clock, stopwatch, games, etc.), only works in Windows, no video out on flash models.
Im considering getting a Zune 80... My 30GB iPod seems outdated... wanted something different... the Zune looks interesting... but, does the Zune 80 work on a Macintosh? I use Leopard... should i buy 1?
i kno!!! i recently found this hack to get it to work with mac... but u still cant use it as an external storage device!!! its these little things that matter a lot!!! so im just gonna buy a new iPod...
iPod Pros: Definitely works with all your media already, better battery life, works on a Mac (and in Windows), Mass Storage support, better and more accessories.
iPod Cons: No radio, no subscription music, smaller screen, video out only special cable (6th gen).
My reasons for choosing a Zune are that it works with all the media I have, it has more capacity, and it has more accessories than any other player that supports all my media.
Should everyone own a Zune? Probably not. But don't just overlook it.
iPod Classic has serious issues with "just working" with my Windows Media Center box. That's not to say Zune does it perfectly, but it comes a lot closer than iTunes. (Windows Media Player is probably the best I've used so far for managing my tv shows, but my old 20 gig iriver just wasn't big enough anymore)
If you're using Windows Media Center in Vista, just add your Recorded TV folder to the listened folders, and you'll see your TV shows. Otherwise, you'll have to convert your TV shows/movies/videos to a format the Zune software can understand (wmv, mp4) and then add it to your library. Then, just send it to your Zune like any other file.
Once it's in your Zune library, yes. It'll watch folders and automatically add media, or you can drag-and-drop to add to the library. Then, from the library, you tell it to sync.

i've an ipod nano 3g 8gb and it's great, way better then my old 80gig 5.5gen ipod, and it's so tiny

No doubt the flash Zune is better. Bigger screen, higher resolution, ability to play movies, better GUI, and more user-friendly.
