@Airbornbuckeye I AGREE!!!!! this modern day bullshit they try to call country will never compare to music like Conway! It's sad.. country has fallen to hell...
How he worked his songs shows how much of a great entertainer he was. Conway is & still the best ever! Sadly missed but not forgotten' all his music is played here.
Conway has always been my favorite country artist. This song especially holds hurtful memories even today because of what happened with my first marrige and in loosing her I also lost my first two sons. They will never know the love I feel for them and this song always reminds me of that.
I GREW UP LISTENING TO CONWAYS MUSIC, THIS SONG INCLUDED!!! NEVER WOULD I HAVE THOUGHT IN A MILLION YEARS THAT IT WOULD LATER APPLY TO MY OWN LIFE!!! I REMEMBER THINKING HOW SAD THIS SONG WAS AND HOW MUCH IT WOULD HURT TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING LIKE THIS.....NOW I KNOW...
ATTENTION. Talk about feeling your music... He made it so that when He began to sing, not only did you stop and listen, but you began wondering if he was actually talking to or about you. This is true country! This is how country should be done!
we r only clay moddled after the one and only mold........Think and accept......that life is about choices.....and we have the knowledge......to know the correct answer....
From the song to the performace, both are impecable, it makes me so proud to show this to ppl. This is who everyone else tries to measure up to. I agree with paycheck18901 about when Conway was around he was definetly in charge!
Dear young country music artists of today: You don't need to sing about gittin 'er dun on the tractor, winnin' over the farmers daughter, and grammas biscuits and gravy like you're some kind of redneckin machine in order to make good songs. Thank you.
What a soulful singer!Past relashionships are a bitch, but man do they make a great song! The so called country singers of today could learn from the masters of the past!BE IN IT FOR THE MUSIC AND NOT FOR THE MONEY!Country music lost a great star in 1993.Sleep well Conway you have earned your rest!
When we all realize that life gives and takes, we can find comfort in accepting it's true meaning. We own no one. Yours may be anothers eventually. Enjoy that moment and love them today and expect you will be holding another later in life. SAD but very true!
I refuse to listen to the radio anymore until they put music like this back on for us to listen to!!!! There is no COUNTRY MUSIC on the radio anymore!!! I miss you Conway!!! R.I.P.
As an entertainer, I was introduced to Mr Twitty by a general manager of a radio station in Augusta, Ga. Mr Casey Jenkins of WGUS Radio. Wonderful man. Two years later, opened 6 concert shows of Mr Twitty' s. Taught me alot. Did I achieve his success? LOL, no way. But I did manage 6 number 1' s and a couple of top 10' s. Who I am doesn t matter. I 'm done. No legend. Mr Jenkins is the story. What a talent and a Gentleman. Polite to everyone.
I sing this song alot in kareoke, usually after Im done people will tell me I do the song justice. To that I always reply, "Thankyou, but I will never be able to do that song the justice that it and him both deserve."
Haha, also I usually get chill bumps every time I sing it too.
This man was truly a legend, one of the best I know I'll ever see. I will be dead and gone LONG before his name and music is ever forgotten.
I love how he acknowledges the crowd at 1:11 while singing by simply raising his fingers from the mic. Such a classy guy and an incredible voice. No auto tune needed for this guy.
I seen Conway in one of the last public performances he made, just 2 months before he went to be with our Lord....it's so hard to decide which of his songs was my fave, because everyone of his songs were Epic, and there is not just one!! I miss that man!!
OK now time to cry when it's over it;s over but it hurts the same i give all but not enough you said i do and i did till the end of time now i hurt more than you will ever fell and i hope you never do why i love you for all time you have my heart
I don't like country music, but Conway Twitty is ACTUAL country. You hear all of these country songs today pretty much explaining what they did that day. "I get my woman, go drink some beer have a good time." Ok, that is just not real country music.
damn he can belt out the tunes, ups if you love conway after the family guy "madness" lol, cuz ill give ups to that, hey at least I can say theres someone in country music I can say i like
GREAT man and great song. We visited Twitty City in the 80s. It was a beautiful and happy place. Too bad Dee, his third wife, did not realize it was "CONWAY'S Graceland"..........what a shame and great loss for his fans! At least TBN has kept Conway's memory alive and his fans can visit his home. Cathy T.
@outbackredd Yes, mine as well. Rent 22in dubs at $ 200 a week and put them on a $1000 hoop de. Sad. Not to get political but, these same people then take their hard earned EBT cards, (food stamps, rent subsidies, power and water payment subsidies, free 100 minute government cell phones and medi care. and then they go about their daily lives. At our expense. Then think that they are entitled to more. Just plain pitiful. Sorry for the rant. But truth is truth.
Mr Jenkins, your were and or the man. Your legacy will never be eclipsed. George Straight is a close second, but, you re the man. Now let s talk about Blake Shelton" s version. I know you re in Heaven smiling. He did you proud. He gives you the credit. just thankful to sing your song. LOL I stop at Red lights and turn the volume up to drown out the Hip Hop BS. Makes them mad. Mines in the stereo. Their money is in the WHEELS . Sorry, bad remark. But True.
I love Conway... Im 45, and I have been a fan for probably 30 years. It just dont get no better than this voice. The suggestive nature of his songs has made women love him for decades. And I will continue to love his music.
I have to agree with most posts on here. Blake Shelton did a good job remaking this song but the simplest way to put it is that there's only one Conway Twitty.
This is a true man of country. Amazing artist, when Conway past away country was never the same. A great legend lost, but he still lives on. I grew up on Conway, and I am 39 now and I still listen to him. When my daughter was born 19 yrs. ago I played Conway everyday for her, and still today she listens to his songs, and remembers me playing them to her.
Harold Llyod Jenkins (aka. Conway Twitty, The Gowler, The Highpriest of Country Music) When he left us, country music was never the same, nor will it be again. I cried when he died, just as I did when Elvis died. Sometimes I still do. Their music was and is a part of me! There must be an awesome show in heaven tonight!!!
Blake does this song well, but there isnt anyone out there today that could even hold Conway's coat as far as real country..This crap we have today is nothing but 'pop'
@silverowlsoaring He's been on there about 4 times. Don't worry...Seth MacFarlane is apparently a big Conway fan so I don't find his use of him on the show offensive to Conway fans.
why does it seem conway twitty has never gotten the respect he deserves? hes gotta be in the top 5 best country music artists ever. right next to george jones. all you hear is johnny cash this and johnny cash that. what really sucks is this is what we used to have on the radio but now all we get are metro sexual posers. thanks a lot nashville, you sold your soul for pop. oh yeah folks check out adam hood, stoney larue, randy rogers, wade bowen, townes van zandt, real music
@SlumberCloud He's Daddy was a big fan of Conway. He watch Hee Haw with he's Father. I thank him for doing that My kid's Love Conway because of Family Guy. Conway will live on for the young people to here.
excellent... now i love blake shelton singing this one, but c'mon ya'll no-one does it like Conway Twitty. it doesn't get any better than this. Lord I miss him...
Conway Twitty was and stilll is the best there is. After all these years, he's my favorite. He sang about love, sex and heartache with class and style. Not a bunch of filth.
The King of romance...Mr. Conway Twitty...if I ever wanted to get my date in the mood, I'd simply put a cassette tape of him in... Nature took it from there...even today, it still works on my date, which is now, my wife....thanks Conway...this ole boy will never forget you...
I saw this man on many occasions and there has Never been another entertainer that cared so much about getting it right- incredible is what I think and miss his music so much- what a great person he was and so loyal to the fans- young artists should learn from him!!!
Conway was one of a kind. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and had to listen to my dad's country music. I preferred rock n roll bands like the Eagles, ZZ Top and Doobie Brothers. Now in my 50's I find myself listening to Conway, George, Tammy and Loretta. You can't beat classic country music for songs from the heart.......
Fuggin A Conway Twitty!!!! I rule the trailer court with a battle ax! On you're fucking knees, fuck face! Praise be to Conway Twitty!!!! Woot woot!@!! Own my own mobile home!!!
I grew up in a working class town in Maine, did grunt work with my friends fathers and remember sitting in pick-ups in the early morning, or coffee breaks with powdered donuts in the haze of marlboros or camels, and country music playing on the AM radio. Years go by, then I see a clip of Twitty from the early 70s on Family Guy and it brought back that time so clearly I downloaded as much Conway as I could find and he's one of my favorites now. I am thankful for having him in my memories.
@MrWes1988 Well sir I must say that you are not a true fan of country music....let me guess, you also think Garth Brooks is better than George Jones?? Blake is fine, nothing wrong with him but he will never amount to a pimple on Conway's left a$s cheek. No offense meant.....you stated your opinion and I stated mine!!!
One of the things I like about Conway is how his songs speak to real life situations and complex issues and emotions, but yet are so simple, in a good way. :)
I was the stupid one who destroyed the one true love i had. thats why this song speaks to me cause i would rather die then see her hurt. if i ever got the chance for one last chance i'd take it. but it would never happen
Yes! is the best performance ever. But we don't can reclaim of Blake Shelton's version. He's a great artist and made a beautiful work with this music. It's fact, right?
@justinge999 True, but there are a few artist who are a little more traditional on mainstream radio lately, like Sunny Sweeney. :) But yeah, Nashville just churns out crap, country sounds more rock than rock these days! lol
This song above all others gives me instant chills.. There is no other song that he sings that is this powerful! obviously singing from a personal experience and that to me is the best of the best in all music! He is deeply missed!!
@Aircraftkiller guess thats just the nature of youtube. I bet somebody could make a video just saying hey hows everybody doin and it would get dis liked
WOW!How great was he here! The gray headed woman that stands at the end was his mother. She died within a year after his death.

All the greats are either getting up in years or passing on. And there's no one currently that can replace them. Rest in piece Conway.

MrWes1988 11 months ago

MrSouthernMan1 1 year ago 3
Yes! is the best performance ever. But we don't can reclaim of Blake Shelton's version. He's a great artist and made a beautiful work with this music. It's fact, right?
countryboy977 1 year ago
@calvinc1975 Sad thing is that won't happen... Everything mainstream is junk rock sounding music, Maybe one day though.
justinge999 1 year ago
@justinge999 True, but there are a few artist who are a little more traditional on mainstream radio lately, like Sunny Sweeney. :) But yeah, Nashville just churns out crap, country sounds more rock than rock these days! lol
God Bless ~Amy
