i know he doesnt wear 2 because he batted there as explained in this video but still it matched up nicely and brought back tradition even if he didnt mean to. also, he couldnt wear number 1 anyway because its retired for billy martin. 2 and 6 r the only single digit numbers not retired and 2 will be after jeter retires and joe torre had 6 which i hope they retire his number eventually
