Whats the deal with that giant muffler? Is it a muffler? Some sort of resonator? expansion chamber to tune exhaust length somehow?

Clarkson says the engine is mounted too high up, but doesn't look like it's mounted very high at all?

@SouthWalesStar01 I would not put to much weight on any of Clarkson's comments. Engine is mounted fairly low down.

hmm oke, i was wondering if it was the same one as in the xjs. sense those engines have been tuned up to 750 horsepower without any turbines or supercharger.

@Mastermind12358 The engine is very similar (detuned version) to the one used in the XJR-9 which won LeMans in 1988. Jaguar block with pistons etc by Cosworth.

the engine in XJR-9 is based of the 5.3l version in the xjs
