I counted 57 total transitions from start to finish not including composited overlays. That leaves an average of 3.15 seconds between each transition... which I think is overdoing it. Watch TV sometime & count how many times in a minute they change camera angles. We need time to appreciate what our eyes are taking in before you throw another scene at us.

yeah I'd have to agree. I love Jimmy's new album but theres nothing wrong with just having the camera in a fixed position. In fact i think I prefer it that way. You can actually see whats going on and to be honest, its annoying having the camera move around so much.

When I listen to Andy Mckee its like he gets inside my soul and evokes interesting feelings and emotions. This was nice, but kinda missed the spot for me. Bit disjointed musically and visually. Obviously talented musician though! Off to check out some more of his stuff...thanks for the post.

Personally, I enjoy the ominous feel of the video. Maybe the editing was a little overdone like Joan Rivers' face, but still captures the feel of the music nonetheless. Beautiful song, so clean.

What does it take to play like this? I've always said I've always wanted to make my own music and create my own style. I've never really learned any other songs on a 6 string but I do believe I have started to explore the beginning of my own style. Just not there yet after about 10 years of playing.

Years ago I once asked my father to teach me how to play, he just handed me the guitar and told me to learn on my own -- like he did.

@fabfauna I taught myself.. I find myself being able to play songs that people with more experience have trouble with.. I think the main factor is pushing your limits. Extend yourself to something you can't play, but just keep trying it. My only regret with teaching myself was that I have little knowledge of music itself.. the chords, the scales, what have you, but I've got to the point where I feel pretty comfortable playing anything!
