  • Steve Conte is the king of voice

  • Comment removed

  • ANYBODY could make this song sound better than in the voice of Mr Conte. It makes me think of someone that I'll never have again...

  • fantastic performance, but Steve Conte looks like such a cheeseball onstage lol.

  • This is a song that for some reason reminds me of someone

  • I so would have loved to have been there T^T

This song has so much meaning to me, and Steve Conte always sings with such honesty...I love this song to death.

  • @jwbrough1 personally, i like that theyre ptty underground and not a lot of people know them. It adds to their uniqueness

  • why the hell this very underated group didnt break out and become HUGE is a nystery to me

there is no one today with HALF THEIR TALENT

  • i looove it soo much but pitty the quality of the video is so bad... it would be incredibly great if they release a DVD now with all of those songs

  • @justsupersteve Obviously, a DVD of this was released (videos on Youtube of this performance are rips from that), but it's out of print, with raws nowhere to be found on the internet :(

If you're really desperate (and feel VERY adventurous), buying from a Japanese online auction service might be an option...

  • I cry so much during the part of the show that this is used in when Ed and Faye leave. This song hasa large hand in evoking my emotion

  • wow!!

  • yeah! this is one of my favorites... as in join all the good songs in the world, this is one of the best... as in! *in our own language, I call this "astig"!

  • This dude's voice is amazing. Beautiful music. The seatbelts remind me of the misfits because of their mysterious lyrics.

  • I cried, really. :,)

  • for me its not the lack of power in his voice as in the studio some of the grubby bits can be cut away, bebop weren't perfection for me its the realistic take on it in a non unrealistic enviroment in the story that lured me. as for this performance minor slip ups f*ck em its still an amazing performance.

  • The only time I cried in the show was when this song played. Ed looking back at the ship and Faye drawing herself a bed in the dirt... :'(

  • he looks as sexy as his voice sounds

  • Farewell Ed & Ein.

  • Bang

  • I just fucking love this song to tears, fuck what people say about anime they don't fucking understand the beauty, the passion, the art, and the impact that it has, I don't know if those anime haters are just fucking pussies or they're just retarded for not understanding the hard work people like Nujabes put into their art and until they get their head out of their ass they're just going to keep ranting and bitching about the same thing but you know what I've heard it all before

  • @MrAnimenerd93 To be honest the problem with anime is that most of what is known is pure $hit. While I love Cowboy Bebop and Dragonball and Ranma and Wolf's Rain, people know anime by Pokémon, Bayblade and the rest of that crap.

The real thing, the real thing to do here is to love ART, regardless of what shape it takes: be it anime, manga, underground comic or Marvel or DC - and call what is shit for its name.

  • @rausantaella hmm, well anime may not be the best in the world, but I'll still enjoy even if it is known to be ovarrated

  • @MrAnimenerd93 It's not that it's overrated, it's that people associate anime with crappy anime, such as the ones I pointed out. When someone says so to you, instead of rambling or saying that they don't understand you or that you'll enjoy it even if they think it's overrated - please, point them to Cowboy Bebop and the like. Make them understand that not all anime is about kids with unruly hair doing the equivalent to cockfights with magical animals/virtual beings/etcetera.

  • recording's a lot better, he as a good voice, just no power.

  • The best ANIME ever, and the best anime music ever, too.

  • 12 people never had a life.

  • Everytime i hear this i feel like Spike. :E

  • He is so sexy, awesome voice!

  • steve is great. huge range he got there and this song is freaking hard to pull off well

  • i love cowboy bebop ! best anime ! best music !! thank u yoko for creating great music and to the seatbelts

  • @cowboybebop77 yoko kanno is a fantastic musician :) she is actually a jazz pianist, an incredible composer of nearly all genres (she even made something with Puccini's Madam Butterfly in Magnetic Rose), a fascinating arranger- she uses numerous well known compositions and makes them greater! such as dj food's Let the good shine :) annd she sings under a name of Gabriela Robin... she is funny, sweet. i love her courage, her comfort on stage, her ease improvisations... :D

  • I can't stop crying while playing, its all too much. I love it. <3

  • meanwhile, spike and jet are eating eggs

  • @ilyktosk8

And running away from rampant rotten meat XD

  • @gag75

"So what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge."

Sorry it was too good of a set up, I couldn't resist :p.

  • I literally wept when Ed left and this song was playing

  • @bonzoscarpetcleaning See You Cowgirl, Someday, Somewhere....

  • When the seatbelts are performing songs like tank or blue, what does Steve do?

    Does he play any instrument?

  • @tatistus Steve is actually a pretty accomplished guitarist and solo artist, and he was on guitar duty for the NY Dolls, a seminal rock band, from 2004 to 2010. He rocks, you should check out some of his solo stuff!

  • Undeground Artists are 100 times better than many mainstream artists today... It's their love of music that makes them good, not their greed for money...

  • @DarkRaven008912 couldnt be more right AGREE

  • i cried. i really did.

  • grooosooooooooooo!!!, me encanta como canta este loco

  • Dude, 3:51 and 4:08 sounded JUST like the recorded version! Amazing!

  • The has to be one of the most amazing voices I've heard in a long time.

  • @AlectoBlood82 Really?????? I really like this song but most amazing voices??? That's a long shot

  • lovee ittttttttttttt

  • spike is so hot

  • is there a higher quality version of this? it's absolutely amazing

  • awesome!

  • Oh my God this is amazing.

  • Yoko Kanno should be immortalised as an international treasure, her heart is all encompassing, you can hear it in every note.

  • Those guys on the instruments... WOW

  • even better live

  • never discuss the Seatbelt with Justin Beiber.. seriously

  • steve conte has such a voice

  • You have to appreciate "Cowboy Bebop" for what it was and what it is. The series didn't fall into any known category or genre at the time or even today. It held its own without any help. This is due largely in part to Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts. Kanno-sama's musical brilliance in incorporating full, and correct, English lyrics into the soundtrack made "Cowboy Bebop" what it is today. It's rare that music written for the purpose of a soundtrack to an anime can have the following it does today.

  • sounds just like one day by the verve, don't know which one came first

  • @LauPulstar omfg yes!!! This song reminds me so much of the verve it's uncanny. I always heard a little bit of lucky man in the beginning though

  • Love it!

  • were can i download this song. i tried iTunes but to no avale.

  • thats why i will not support any of their shit, i wont buy their music or go see the movies that feature those retards, this is actual musical talent; rap can lick my nutsack.

  • Hahaha Bittersweet symphony Hahaha man, you gotta be kidding me.....

  • Steve Conte. <3

  • finally i found the live version of this song

  • omg sexy

  • I... do... not... understand why in a world where pop "CHEESE" like all the Lady Gagas of the world dominate the charts w/ their utter insipidness & music like this only has a cult following thanks to the world of anime. I would by this ANYDAY instead of what's hot on the charts now.

  • See... maybe I'm being stupid, but I think its also stupid to hear this from an American, where that essentially is pop culture. If I move to Japan and find out that Justin Bieber is the "shit" there, then I will personally feel for you guys when you speak like this, but seriously, speaking out of American pop culture, it sounds like an ignorant thing to say.

  • Hell, if I find out Japanese radio is acclaiming Justin Bieber, I might just go and jump off a cliff right then... XD

  • @Momentum139: THIS American has an opinion, & being from the US you should understand that. But, if you don't like it, lump it. If YOU like Beiber or Gaga that's fine. Others may question your lack of taste, but that's neither here nor there. But I also find it highly ignorant of you as well to bitch, moan, whine & complain about an opinion. I mean... don't you have something else better to do than to get offended over a mere statement? Wow, I guess not. Oh & you are right about yourself.

  • Lord have mercy...after all these years, this song STILL moves me in such a powerful way...

  • that blazer is way too big

  • Gosh his voice is so sexy. <3

  • WOOT!!!

  • This is one of my favorite songs from Bebop. If this song were to be played on the radio, it would shoot up the charts. I'll love this song and Cowboy Bebop for as long as I live.

  • the Cowboy Beebop soundtrack was one of the best soundtracks i Ever Owned.,.

enjoyed it for years..then it was Stolen..grrrr...

    Love the show aswell :)

  • ah, cowboy bebop is epic! despite its age.

a lot of anime nowadays are crap... this anime is the whole package. I love the music!

  • omg this guy is great, such a great voice

  • please all bebop fans don't let hollywood fuck it up i've been hearing rumors that they're planning to make cowboybebop a holywood movie starting keanu reeves as Spike ! they will fuck it up for the real fans all over the world, it only took 12 years for them to realize that Anime can make great shows and great sound tracks, and if they make the movie they should atleast leat Yoko Kanno writte the sound track

  • @hunterallen48 You do realize that, while Keanu might not be one of the best choices, he IS a true fan? Most of the budget for this movie is coming out of his pocket because he loves the series that much. Also, Shinichiro Watanabe, the CREATOR of Cowboy Bebop is a producer for the movie. As much as I hate to say it, they're doing all they can to make sure this movie DOESN'T suck.

  • @minusxero Well let's be honest: This movie stands and falls with the Soundtrack. If the Soundtrack comes even close to the OST, it won't suck. Bebop is all about atmosphere. Is it out who is responsible for the Soundtrack?

  • @Maivia987 It isn't out there, no. However knowing Shinichiro Watanabe's track record with animes, he will be getting Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts back together. He is VERY specific about how he wants his animes to sound, and I wouldn't expect any less from a live action by him either. With Keanu being as big a fanboy as we are, he's probably thinking the same thing.

  • see you space cowboy

  • See you space cowgirl, someday, somewhere....

  • Yeah i aggree this is one of the saddest songs of the bebop but the episode was lame killing spike, ed leaving feh leaving and Spike and the other one staying together it's sad

  • @exelamatter6 He didn't die. They didn't show him dying.. well, i think the author left it in a way we decide whether he live or die..

  • @in1pieces Quit being an ass. He died, and everyone knows it. Can't you leave ONE anime without a stupid open ending? Spike died. It sucks, but it's a great ending to an amazing show. They're already trying to ruin Bebop with a live action movie, so we don't need you ruining it with a stupid conspiracy theory.

  • @PteradactylKat What?!?!

live action? Hollywood needs to understand that not all anime are good for that. They're already planning a bleach one (smh)

  • Thank you for making it so that I don't need to watch the rest of the series... now I know everything that happens.

  • @jdc321boom Your an idiot if you don't watch it. And not just once because even when you know what is going to happen it's still a good ride every single time.

  • @exelamatter6 this song wasn't in the last episode, your thinking of the of the song "blue"

this is just the tune that played when ed left.

  • ...bang

  • story of my lie.... see you space cowboy.

  • awesome...

  • COME BACK, ED! Noooooo ;_;

    Sad song, t'is awesome!

  • @dashivaO5 T_T u just reminded me were that song whent now im cryin T_T

  • this song is so sad.its played when ein and ed go away and stay with her father :(

  • @bananaempijama why did he leave'r? :[

  • Music transcends color. No "Black" Vesion Needed. ( this is coming from a black Man By the way) It is an AWESOME track No matter what anyone says. If it is redone it should Be done by someone who has a feel for this Song and Not Just trying to make a quick buck.

  • Comment removed

  • the drummer was jammin. i think if there was a "black" version to this it would be good. maybe even better

  • on a lighter note...this song would be great for a cel phone commercial XD

  • Cowboy Bebop has one of the most extraordinary soundtracks of anything I've ever watched.

  • Agreed ^^ , its amazing!!

And the Seatbelts are great when playing live ^^

  • a great anime need a great soundtrack =)

  • Much like Leone/Morricone cooperations, the parts improve each other. :)

  • @dnebdal

I hate anime (with a passion), and am critical of virtually everything and EVEN I believe that Cowboy Bebop is one of the deepest, strongest, underated, brilliant, masterpieces that has ever graced any medium of entertainment.

  • well its awesome that EVEN U approve! i was on the fence but then i heard about u approving so it changed my mind. at first i couldn't believe that EVEN U could appreciate it. thank you jesus.

  • Well, doesnt the fact that I hate anime and love bebop say somthing special about the serious shit for brains? I mean, any old virgin anime fan can boast about crap but not a cool mofo like me...whats up?

  • There are good anime series; the problem is that for every good one, there are about 10 that are pure garbage.

If you like Cowboy Bebop, try giving "Black Lagoon" a watch.

  • @ThePopeofScience agreed

  • @dnebdal thats one of the reasons why this Cowboy Bebop is SSOOO AWESOME!!!

  • @dnebdal I agree! I caught myself watchin' the show just as much for the story as I did for the music. My dad's not a cartoon watcher, but I told him, as a jazz fan and music fan, he'd like the show...

  • @dnebdal Listen my friend, not watched hehe, but i agree with you! :D

  • @dnebdal Samurai Champloo is right there with this anime... Go figure - Spike & Mugen are played by the same voice actor - It's a SIGN!!

  • @Katlionechan I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Samurai Champloo is an anime that parodies previous histories and places them in the time of the anime, which kind of bites on other ideas. Cowboy Bebop is a series that stands amongst itself. And there's yet, imo, to be any "right there with it" since its creation. If I were to be so inclined to say, Trigun was one that could be put in the same category, but never right there with it.

  • @rybrochill I'm sorry you feel that way. I myself love Samurai Champloo and think that the soundtrack to that anime is absolutely fantastic. I just wish that they would make albums for both animes.

  • @Katlionechan they did..

  • @dnebdal

    what about samurai champloo

  • STEVE CONTE !!!! <3

  • a penas comenzo el video se me cayeron las lagrimas.... yoko kanno hace musica que envuelve el alma.

  • great!!!

  • man, I've always loved Steve Conte. ^_^

  • Sounds like the lead singer from Kiri, lead singer who did the opening to Ergo Proxy.

  • i cant tell you how much i love this song - and this live version just cements my love for it even more! the lyrics give me chills and take me somewhere else everytime i hear this song by yoko kanno, steve conte and seatbelts. im sure many of you (if not everyone) has been thru that "wondering" feeling about a loved one or someone you want to be loved by. this really is a beautiful song.

  • this song makes me wanna cry...

  • it does that to me every time, lol

  • El es maravilloso, y la cancion llegadora.... una de mis favoritas...

  • I like his singing here more than in the recording. Much more emotional and expressive...

  • Take me Steve Conte *-*!!!

Gosh... he´s gorgeous as man and singer *-*!!!

  • Oh...how I would LOVE to see him, Mai Yamane, Yoko Kanno, and the Seatbelts together...

  • Whoa! This is beautiful. Great voice!

  • love this awesome

  • If we had more people like him who actualy sound good in todays music world maybe then I would have hope ..but that will never be so sad.

  • He sounds just as good live as he does in the recorded version o3o My god he's got SUCH an amazing voice!

  • Damn this sounds just as good live, can't say that about most artists anymore. What a wonderful voice and song.

  • Its a shame talent like this is neglected while the blowjob brothers, that cyrus kid and that sort are famous. But i guess sex sells, and ignorant masses prefer that over actual art.

  • @Archronos1 maybe its better this way let the cheese heads have mass manufactered crap and let people with good taste enjoy things like this : )

  • @Archronos1 success has NEVER equaled quality, and it never will. So the next time some one says "but they sold 10 million albums", just say - "that doesn't mean shit. it as sure as hell doesn't mean they're any good"

  • ..hmmm. Not to roll some metaphorical eyes but I guess a bunch of the films I've grown up on have no quality value, now do they?

    What a generalizign statement.

  • @Archronos1 While I agree that the Seatbelts are more talented than those kids, this song is WAY too similar to Bittersweet Symphony.

  • @0BatGirl0 Bittersweet Symphony? I'm afraid I must strongly disagree with you. A few rhythmic compasses are not enough to establish comparisons between two musical pieces. This is a whole new and unique piece in and for itself. Neither the theme, nor the lyrics, nor the feelings evoked or, for that matter, the very tone of the melody are similar to those of The Verve's piece. D.R.

  • @Hasfast plus bittersweet symphony was a rip off song to begin with and thats why the verve got sued by the rolling stones and didnt make ANY money or royalties off of it

  • @Archronos1 Though this guys is Pretty offkey most of the time during this song. Still, great composition and lyrics by Yoko Kanno, and the studio version is correct (corrections probably)

  • @Archronos1 Or maybe people just have a different taste in music. I don't like "the blowjob brothers" or that Cyrus kid either, but by calling the people who do "ignorant masses", you were pretty ignorant yourself.

  • Me encanta esta cancion desde hace muchos años, amo a Steve Conte!

  • Steve Conte live... SICKKKKKKK!!!! Great voice man.

  • Dem steve can sing this song very well, you can here the emotions in his voice and that's why he makes this song awesome!

  • Steve rocks!!!! love this live.

  • Was this on a concert or something? I would love to get the whole thing.

  • It's band called "The Seatbelts" performing in tokyo I believe. They, with Yoko Kanno, make the Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack.

  • Wow he sounds wonderful live!

  • I love STEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very good for a rock singer, I mean many rock singers suck live

  • you just know the wrong ones :D

  • like who? who are the right ones... live?

  • bruce dickinson(maiden), hansi kürsch( blind guardian), lemmy(motörhead), doro, marko saaresto(poets of the fall), alea(saltatio mortis), eric fisch(subway to sally) and so on

  • Very true. Even the great Dave Grohl sucks live. I don't even like rock but Steve is one of my favorite artists!

  • I really like this guy, I mean as a singer. I usually listen to more complex music like Jazz Fusion, which is mostly instrumental but I really like this song, one of me favorite lets say rock/pop songs

  • Cancion dedicada a mi healer favorita LOve your ale

  • hahaha ty *kisses*

  • I met Conte in person he and his brother are sweethearts! and god do i love this song!

  • damn! great song and great performance!

  • He has to have one of the best live voices I've ever heard.

  • thank you yoko for this amazing song!!!.

    You'r a Inspiration.

  • He's too good of a singer to have sung that "song" in sonic & the secret rings, infact he's too good to be singing for the sonic series in general with the way it is now.

  • Damn! He is so sexy! I love his voice!!!

Amazing song! Yoko Kanno the best!

  • Mind telling me the guy's name?

("seatbelts - call me call me" singer)

  • the name of singer is steve conte, he is american but he works a lot with yoko kanno

  • Thanks. =)

  • =ºWº= i love this song!!!!!

  • You're damn right!

Does anybody know wether there is a DVD of this concert????

  • There is one knocking about called Souvenir of Tokyo.

  • One of the best anime series and soundtrack ever made, if not the best.

After more than 10 years still unparalleled.

Spike, Faye, Jet, Ed, Ein, Julia, Vicious and Yoko Kanno

    forever and ever
