Great song, Chris is great, but the sound man SUCKS> he could have slid up the banjo mic for cripes sake and given the piano part a little more volume too, but still you can't not like Rea, there's just something about the guy and his music, gotta love em.
Chris is not a novelty like most artists out there...He is an amazing singer and musician and that voice truely blows my mind..it all seems like no effort for him.....very rare.....thanks for the live post.....its actually where it all hangs out
123being needs to shut there fucking dumb mouth. his emotions are more clear then ever in the pain of his voice and his love for the bluey version of his songs which best represent his true emotion and way he wantd the song to sung in.
Ah, you Euros are so lucky to be able to see this genius! Would that he would come to America, he'd be a smash...boo hoo. He's the best, supremo best!
I've been to 2 of his concerts in Budapest, the first in 2002 (Stony Road) and then in 2006 (Farewell Tour). Also, he was here in Hungary a few times in local TV shows and once at our F1 GP as Eddie Jordan's guest. I met him then and spoke with him a few seconds ;) I like his music since I was a kid.
Looks like the Blues music in Europe is in the hands of "The Family"! How else could one explain that two of the best European Bluesmen are either Italian (Zucchero) or of Italian descent (Chris Rea)?
I strongly believe he could not sing like he used to in the past, e.g. on the album 'Espresso Logic' or many others. I think those long and still, bright and smokey tones are gone forever. I'm missing the old tunes, but I definately like these songs also. Chris is one of my very favourite musicians. Happy concerts, good for you! :-)
his voice is zo worst no hi stil sounds nice his hes very sick and stil he is going on tour zo respecht for the man iam going to sey him saturdag but i hef bin bevore to a concert of him wen i was 12 or somting greets;-)
this is the way he looks now?:( i will always remember Chris Rea the way he looks in his "road to hell video". God bless him, he has blessed us thru him! Long live real music!
after a long illness he went through, and one of the most exraordinary bluesman we know! don't forget his smoky voice have a look to the montreux festival videos I uploaded on youtube if you stay on road to hell 89 there is a lot of changes.. if you want some info e mail me
Chris is due to release a double vinyl album in October/November but under the name of The Hoffner Blue Notes and not The Fireflies. A separate vinyl album of 60's guitar music like BB King and The Shadows will be released around the same time under the name of The Delmonts. These will all be released on 2 cds at a later date. A tour is planned for next year.Chris will appear as part of both groups and might even play some of the old tunes.
After seeing and hearing Chris perform this version of an old favourite from years ago, its a joy to once again see and hear it here. Thank you for the video clip
I saw Chris Rea in Copenhagen sometime back in '92 or '93, but am now bitterly regretting not seeing him during his - heaven forbid - last tour... I hope we - and an improvement in his health, I know he's working on it - can bring him back to the stage sometime in the future! Best of luck, Chris - you are already deeply missed, thanks for all you wonderful music!!!
The best Blues guitarist & singer songwriter we have in the UK...I only wish I went to see him perform more often..farewell tour 2006 was 1st time!!!!..thanks for this Video
i am mad of this guy such a voice! don' t say it's classic or perhaps you mean we already know this song no and no not that way it's the same words and music , but not the same feeling is n't it? don't worry sometime i loose my mind earing this music

surprisingly lazy background band version. Wonder why it's so plain with guitar work melodies specially.
